10.0 Excellent
Pros: Unbelievable experience, one of the best hotel I've ever been! The dinner experience on top is absolutely worth it. Onsen fantastic, with view on Mount Fuji - overall absolutely recommended!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The design of the hotel is very artsy, you can see a lot of art collections in every floor. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. The bars and restaurants serve high quality food - I really like the breakfast served. Room is clean and tidy, the tatami beds are comfortable to sleep in. The view of Mt Fuji will be amazing if it shows up. You can also view it in the hot spring.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were exceptional. The bus driver dropped us off at a recommended local eatery and picked us up as well when we were finished. I would highly recommend this hotel to all considerations.
Cons: The only fault was possibly a full length mirror would have been nice. But it was not a major issue.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: EVERYTHING. The staff is really helpful and warm-hearted. The view outside the room is fantastic. And the dinner at the hotel is wonderful beyond description.
Cons: Nothing.
6.3 Good
Pros: When you arrive at the station, you can go to the tourist information counter and ask for the shuttle. It provides shuttle bus to the hotel.
Cons: The air conditioner is above your head when sleeping. It will blows at you all night long.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Simply excellent. The whole hotel has a cozy atmosphere: from the nice aroma in the lobby, to lighting or ambient music and room decoration. Cleanliness and comfort are excellent and the staff is always helpful and friendly. The onsen is also special, with a great open-air bath with a spectacular view over the lake and Fuji mountain. One of the best hotel experiences.
Cons: Nothing that I could mention here.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I loved the location, and the way the staff welcomed us when we got to the hotel. The staff in the restaurant was very nice, too.
Cons: I liked the art the hotel had, but there were far too many on each wall. There was a gap on the floor leading from the restaurant to the terrace. I thought it would be dangerous for a toddler. We had ordered both Japanese and French dinner, and found it strange that only French course was served water. Wish the staff were more cooperating and nice when we checked out. I wish they had helped with the luggage as they did when we arrived.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely beautiful hotel with beautiful views. From the moment we arrived at Kawaguchiko Station and took advantage of the free shuttle bus to our departure, the experience was perfect. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, and our room was spacious with wonderful views over the lake and of Mt Fuji. Wish we'd stayed longer!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful friendly and helpful staff with excellent English. The best customer service made our stay really enjoyable. Spectacular views of Mt Fuji! The hotel transfer service to/ from Kawaguchiko Station was efficient and really useful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view of Mt Fuji was amazing! Even if you get a cloudy day like our first day was the area itself is still very beautiful and a walk around the lake is great. We were blown away by how welcoming and attentive the staff were throughout our stay. The hotel offers a free shuttle in and out of Kawaguchiko station which was very helpful. Breakfast and the order in dinner were both delicious! Probably the best meals we've had the whole trip. Our night here was me and my friend's 'splurge night' and it was definitely worth it!

7.9 Good
Pros: Really friendly owner. The hotel is located next to one of the busstops of the sightseeing bus. Very nice onsen, you can use this one private.
Cons: We had a loft, so we had to climb upstairs to go to our bed. Not a problem for us, but if you are afraid of hights or a little bit older, this can cause you some problems.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Good Location and staff is very friendly and helpful
Cons: None
8.3 Excellent
Pros: breakfast is fantastic !
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was very good. Although we did not get to see Mt Fuji due to weather conditions, the view would have been great from our bedroom window. We were assisted with baggage and it was very much appreciated.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Teppei-san is really hospitable and goes the extra mile to make guests feel at home! I love the location - there were food options nearby, convenience store within range, and the lovely BnB is just minutes walk from the lakefront where one can just sit and admire the view. I’d highly recommend staying at Weekend Shuffle!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We really have a precious time there, even we have stayed there only one night. The owner is very helpful, giving us a lot for information for attractions & food. He took us to the local bus stop in the morning. The room was very clean and cozy, you can see Mt.Fuji from the window. Will visit there again for my next trip!!!
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The host was very friendly and helpful with good honest information. The breakfasts were the best we had in our 3 week stay in Japan.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Teppe was a brilliant host - continually looking for ways to help us make the most of our stay. The hot tub was great, so too were the local beers on sale of an evening in the lounge, and he even helped us order in some sushi in the evening. Breakfasts great. The property is wonderfully located close to the lakeshore. Just a pity that Fujisan decided to be coy during our stay - treating us only to a fleeting but nonetheless impressive glimpse. I would stay here again in a flash.
Cons: Our room was snug for four - but it had everything we needed. We also made good use of the lounge area.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Clean, comfortable and friendly stuff

Pros: The double level villa is located just infront of Lake Kawaguchiko and facing the beautiful Mt Fuji! The scenery is serene . We liked the space that was big enough for family of 4. Bedrooms & bathroom & toilets were located on 2nd floor and living room n a small kitchen were on 1st floor. There was a back yard with nice green grass patch and a table n chairs provided for you to chill after your day of sightseeing, you can do your barbecue at the backyard too. Pros: The staff !!!! Especially Mashita San (宮下) We had our car broke down on 19/4/19, we were on the rush to kababus ride, she helped us call foreman , kababus , and orix car rental coordinate our issues.( orix helped nothing ) She is really lovely and kind , she and her maintenance staffs, we really appreciated their help and treat our problem as they and helped us without hesitation. She told me they ll have new villa at autumn , we ll find our best chance back to visit her and stay there when we have chance.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: the location is good, but maybe it is summer, there are lots of bugs around the room.
Cons: not exactly sure the breakfast process. i would suggest the host can provide more Japanese style food. also seems there is no dish washer so breakfast were not taken out from room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, comfortable spacious living and garden areas. Fortunate to have spectacular view of Mount Fuji and liked the lakeside walking paths in front of the villas. Breakfast was ample, nutritious and healthy. Good to have breakfast in the kitchen dining room.
Cons: We stayed here for 3 nights. For early risers like us, the breakfast was served at 8:00 am which is a little later than the 7:00 am we are accustomed to. Normally we would like to be on the road sightseeing at about 8:30 am.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The great hospitality and well-trained service quality.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The views of Mount Fuji were stunning. We woke up ein the mornings to the smell of Lavender. The outdoor area behind was great for meals, admiring the views and taking in the smells.
Cons: The air con should be cleaned.

10.0 Excellent
Cons: The host is very homely. The room is decorated in Japanese style. The location is charming and rustic in a small town.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff ; good location, very good prices ;-)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A great japanese style room. The lady said it was little, but for me it was big enough. The city is so safe, that they dont close the front door, so theres no need to give you a key. It was a little far from yoshida trail and fujisan station, but 6 blocks from the Pagoda site (which is a must go, since u see the mount fuji right in front of you)
Cons: All good
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable, had the whole house to ourself. Bed was very comfortable! We even had a Fuji view. The main woman was very friendly and accommodated an early check in for us on a rainy day.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Japanese style room was beautiful and the smell and feel of the tatami mats was a wonderfully authentic Japanese experience. The view of Mount Fuji from our room was exceptional too, the perfect thing the gaze at while enjoying our private Onsen.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food was amazing as well as the own outdoor Japanese bath on the balcony. We had a beautiful view of the lake and could clearly see Mount Fuji from the roof where we soaked our feet in the footpath. Friendly and professional staff, gorgeous views, and a location right where you can experience a Fuji cruise as well as a hike up a smaller mountain where you can get amazing pictures of Fuji.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very high quality accommodation to experience the Japanese traditional houses Staff is extremely friendly and location is perfect
Cons: Nothing all was perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Helpfull staff, nice quiet place, and so relaxing
Cons: I liked everything
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff is very helpful, they showed us the room and explained how to use the facilities and items. A friendly and patient old lady prepared and served the dinner to the room. Both the dinner and the breakfast were great. The hotel’s shutter bus station runs to Kawaguchiko station regularly at peak time, and if you arrive out of peak time you can call the hotel for pickup. They will literally take care of everything for you. Hot spring in the room was great and the view of Fujisan was spectacular.
Cons: I found two roach-like bugs crawling near the hot spring. They didn’t fly and were harmless, but it was a little bit uncomfortable staring at them while I’m in the spring. Probably this is inevitable being an open-air hot spring though.
7.9 Good
Pros: Shuttle service from/to Kawaguchiko station.
Cons: 1. Very early check out at 10 am and they didn't allow an early check in before 3 pm. 2. The housekeeper opened the door exactly at 10 am (check out time) without knocking the door. 3. Last entry to breakfast is 9 am !!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very helpful and nice. Helped us with directions for a local bus. Free shuttle to station was great! Loved the experience of staying in a Ryokan. Loved all the little touches in the room. Snacks. Green tea brewed on arrival. All the products and snacks were also available for sale in the gift shop. View of the lake was stunning. Bed and pillows were very comfy! I slept like a baby.
Cons: Nothing. I’d stay there again.
9.2 Excellent
Cons: Staying in the hotel is relaxing. Food, environment and the hot spring there is fantastic. There is only one bad thing about the stay: too many Chinese tourists!!!!! They made annoying noise even at night. This is terrible.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location just next to the lake. Free shuttle from the station. Hotel just next to the cruise pier and cable car station. Tasty food and good hotsring
7.5 Good
Pros: Room is comfortable. Cleanness and facilities is good
Cons: Dinner serving time is not good arrangement. Wait for unreasonable times

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was really really friendly and helpful, everything was taken care of. The shuttle, which picked us up from the station arrived really fast. The Japanese dinner and breakfast were an amazing experience and the staff was eager to help with any (European) insecurities. The onsen offered a great view on the Mt Fuji.
Cons: Latest breakfast at 8:30 was a little surprise.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food was amazing, dinner consisted of multiple courses that were all fresh and lovely and delicious. Breakfast was one course but delicious as well! The room and onsen were amazing as well. 5 stars, 10/10 would absolutely recommend this place to anyone and everyone!
Cons: Nothing!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel gives you the genuine Japanese experience and is less pricey than a Ryokan. The staff are super friendly and take extra care to explain all the specific Jananese elements, like how to put on a yukata and encourage you to use everything.
Cons: The Japanese way of sitting on the floor is difficult for me due to arthritis.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel position is good, if the weather is not cloudy, guests can see Mount Fuji clearly. The room is comfortable, typical Japanese style room which guests sleep on the ground, big enough, particular suitable for those tall and strong people.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: I book 1 night stay.
Cons: Room was next to spa and loud noise was all night coming from spa and we got wake up in the morning again from spa centre. There should not be any room in close vicinity of spa centre. Secind thing hotel is in middle of nowhere. No any store, no restoran after 8PM. Third thing view from room does not give clear view of fuji only from some small corner on balcony on clear sunny day. Bathtub was not clean. I recomend stay in Tokyo observe weather forecast and if weather is nice, blue clear sky, make day trip and see fuji and go back to Tokyo. Othervise it is just waste of time and money. Pictures of hotel on bookung does not match reality.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Dinner and breakfast were phenomenal. Staff was attentive and courteous. We had a great stay.
Cons: We got the same room as last time (306). Back in December last year, there were tapes on the floor covering a hole and the sewer pipes. I thought the tapes were temporary but this time they were still here. Even though it was only cosmetic, I started to feel like the room condition isn’t on par with the meals and attentiveness they put out.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent, great view of Mt Fiji and the Lake. Easy to walk to restaurants and cafés.
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff. Heartwarming service.
Cons: Excellent.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Extremely friendly and helpful staff, really personally engaged with the hotel visitors giving a very personal feeling. The food experience (traditional Japanese) was excellent and very copious, I had one of the best seafood broths ever in my life. The public bath is enjoyable with a breathtaking view over the Mount Fuji ( for the women). Just a very enjoyable experience
Cons: Nothing that I can think about

7.9 Good
Pros: the location, view and the surrounding was amazing
Cons: a bit too expensive
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great view and clean room. nice staff and great food.
Cons: You have to go to the hotel by yourself when you get to the town. Approximately 3000JPY from the train station to the hotel.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Incredible Experience and beautiful resort! It is expensive, but it's worth a 2-nights stay and experience the Hoshinoya concept and culture. Staff was really top notch, friendly and helpful. Even when I was sick, they helped out with medicine. From check-in to check-out, everything was perfect. There are some outdoor activities, from cooking class, to chopping wood, driving with your bike, or hanging out at the cloud terrace during sweet times and enjoy baumkuchen and drinks in midst of the forest. Prime view location onto Mount Fuji with the Kawaguchiko Lake in front. I could not imagine a better spot to enjoy the view of Fujisan.
Cons: Food was very good, but we had expected more options for Japanese traditional food. We had Shabu Shabu and Japanese Curry for dinner. It was delicious. Also breakfast was great, but still very western-oriented.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff are so considerate and prepare so many wonderful presents to my wife and me.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: everything the staff and everyone
Cons: the food not enough selection
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about our stay once we reached the hotel was perfect. The staff were more than happy to answer any and all questions and we felt truly spoiled during our stay there, from our luggage being delivered to and from our room on check-in and check-out respectively, and being gifted tea-bags that were not for sale but that we had tried in our rooms on one night (they were complimentary). More than that they really nailed the entire glamping experience at Hoshinoya Fuji. Admittedly we had opted for a lot of their activities, mainly having all of our breakfasts and dinners at the hotel, and were therefore able to immerse ourselves in its atmosphere. We tried the dutch-oven dinner on our first night, which is held in a covered podium in the middle of the woods, and ended up having the most fun and delicious meal of our 14 day stay across Japan from Tokyo to Fujikawaguchiko, Hakone, Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Kobe, and Wakayama. The attentiveness of the hotel really shows from the aprons they give you, to the creativeness of the dishes which all have a matching, hunter-gatherer theme to them, and to the ways they serve the dishes which almost always involve you creating or serving the dishes for yourself and your companions. The hot pot in-room dinner option was also a great way to enjoy the amazing balcony-lounge area in our room and the food was, once-again, super high-quality, healthy and very delicious, with a copious amount of vegetables, mushrooms and beef and pork, as well as a local noodle dish named Hōtō. During the daytime, the cloud-terrace area was an amazing place to relax and enjoy the fresh air while cooking up smores near the campfire (yes, there is a campfire that is constantly lit) and enjoying a fresh cup of fruity herbal tea. I can only describe our experience at Hoshinoya, but words really don't do justice to the entire experience.
Cons: The only truly convenient way to reach the hotel from Kawaguchiko station is by taxi, which can get quite expensive if you intend to explore around the town or go to nearby attractions such as Fuji Q amusement park.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is what made this resort so special. An outdoor oasis
Cons: Nothing
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: only the view of Fuji mountain, rainy day and couldnt see clearly. Staff was helpful even they dont speak English well
Cons: Value of money, 5 stars resort but no proper house keeping service, only changing towels, floor and stuff so dirty. Bed sheet didnt make properly. Staff dont speak English so well
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The view is unbeatable. The room we stayed in with a balcony was gorgeous! There was also a view from the bathroom. They brought us a complimentary fruit platter for our anniversary, which was a nice gesture! The kayaking was fun but expensive. The little exploring backpacks were nice and came with a free water bottle and snacks.
Cons: Didn’t like that breakfast or any food is not included in the rate of the room. They definitely overcharge for everything. It’s easy for bugs to get into the room, so make sure doors aren’t open for too long.

Pros: The house was really nice, there's access to the rooftop, we could see Mt Fuji from there
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Love the view there
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in a typical japanese room and it was very nice. The shared bathrooms were always very clean and we liked a lot the common area that had a big and very complete kitchen and a living space also very comfortable to hang around outside of the room. Staff was very friendly and helped us with everything we needed. The location was ok with convenience store very close as well as supermarkets. We managed to do everything on foot, but it is not in the best location that would be a little closer to the bridge or the station.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place is really nice and cool...I liked everything else about this place... I stayed for 5days..I loved it and will stay there in future and recommend whoever visiting Fuji.....!
Cons: They Charge 1dollar for blanket....you have to pay separately when you choose dorm bed...
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place to view Mt Fuji from the terrace, Location wise it is absolutely wonderful.
Cons: if you want to leave early, you cannot get deposit back before 8am (if you are lucky some one will get up at 730 max)
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hostel offer reasonable price for bycicle hiring. Good view to see Mt. Fuji in the morning. The staff here is friendly
7.5 Good
Pros: Staff are very friendly and helpful.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The Mt. Fuji view,, right in front of our room.. Amazing
Cons: It’s fair enough for me..
7.9 Good
Pros: Facilities were in good conditions. Their bike rental is quite good and they let you rent overnight. A big kitchen where we made a nice breakfast after climbing Mt. Fuji. Beds comfortable.
Cons: The hotel staff could put on the sheets and not let the guests do it. I assume the service is what we partially pay for. Early check-in flexibility would also be appreciated - we had to wait till 3 pm...

Pros: I have stayed here before and wanted to show my family a real ryokan with an onsen. I'm sad to say, I was very disappointed, even though some things have improved. One positive I must mention is that the food was absolutely incredible.
Cons: The staff... They are rude, and I also experienced this last time, however it seems to have become worse. We were literally chased around the place by the receptionist demanding that we pay right away rather than at check out, which ruined our last morning staying there. We were made to feel like criminals or something by this person. In addition, when we checked in we had to wait in our room a long to wait for the staff to welcome us and introduce us. Again, time wasted and I think it just seemed like they did not really respect us or our time. When the staff came to make our beds, they did not say anything to us at all, just came into the room and chatted between themselves. Again, I found this very rude and quite unlike the level of service and politeness I would expect in a hotel/ryokan, and especially in Japan. Aside from the poor service and unfriendliness of the staff, the place itself has definitely aged in the few years since I last visited. The outdoor walls need a paint, the room in places looks a little tired, and the salt has built up in the onsen. I think the "love" is missing here and they only now care about making money, and making sure they get paid. In all, I would not really recommend this experience, especially given the price, you should try elsewhere.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was exquisite, the size of a regular dinner. We absolutely loved it. The staff was amazing. They were paying a lot of attention to give us the best experience we could have. The rooms are luxurious. Everything was very clean and pretty. Really pretty garden. Outdoor onsen was just dreamy.
Cons: Everything was perfect
9.4 Excellent
Pros: A very beautiful resort onsen. We had an onsen suite which meant we had our own private onsen. It was wonderful to use as the nights were chilly. Loved it! The staff was excellent and spoke great English, which was quite helpful since our Japanese is very basic! We would stay here again!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I booked this ryokan because of the private onsen (which was amazing!) and that dinner and breakfast was served in room. However, no meals were served in our room, instead in a private room in the restaurant. It was still a good experience but I wanted the meals to be served in our room. The check-in time is very strict (as with every hotel in Japan!) so don't expect to get an early check-in. The staff were lovely and welcoming and the room very clean and traditional.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very quiet place, lovely and super helpful staff. Super comfy beds, clean rooms, all with the traditional Japanese feel to it... The breakfast was massive and delicious, with all the Japanese delicacies! We loved it!!!
Cons: Nothing at all...
7.9 Good
Pros: Traditional Ryokan and onsen. The Japanese Breakfast was amazing! Free shuttle to station. The hostess spoke great English and was very friendly.
Cons: The welcome. We arrived early and had to roam the streets for 2 hours after a long haul flight.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff are really friendly and helpful. The breakfast provided is really really good! Place is very clean and very spacious. There are roasted green tea & green tea available in the room. Only unpleasant thing was that all the restaurants around the hotel during our stay were closed. But we managed to get out quick dinner at Lawson which is just next to the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Pretty luxurious room with Japanese style decoration. Private garden and private onsen. And we cannot love the onsen more. Delicious Japanese Kaiseki cuisine as dinner and breakfast. Japanese Yukata is beautiful and fulfilled our selfie desires. Every staff there is so kind and helpful. We enjoy our stay very much. It is so comfortable to stay. We enjoy every minute of our staying. We would definitely stay there again if we have chances.
Cons: None.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The private onsen room we had was amazing! The breakfast they included was good quality
Cons: Nothing I didn’t like
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All things were perfect except one little thing. We asked for picked up for arrival to train station and we’re waiting yet the answer.
Cons: Same above.

Pros: A great Onsen hotel that pays attention to all details!

Pros: Great, pleasant stay They offer to drive you to any restaurant and pick you up. Free of charge Free rental bikes
Cons: Staff speaks almost no English A bit far off (can be a plus, very quiet) Breakfast was adventurous
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great. It felt like we were staying at someone’s home for a few days! The family were lovely and super attentive, who all went above and beyond to ensure we got the most out of our stay, and tailored our breakfast to suit our dietary requirements, making us feel like we were at a 5 star hotel at times. Thank you all very much for everything!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the Serene location and the staff were absolutely brilliant
Cons: Nothing to say I absolutely loved it
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host is very nice. Helped us to carry our bags upstairs. The breakfast was nice. The outdoor onsen, although small, is good enough for private use. My husband and I can use it together. We have booked 3 rooms and they put all our rooms upstairs on the same floor.
Cons: The room size is a bit small.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My husband, friends and I all looked to our overnight onsen experience as a highlight of our trip. Some of the points that made our visit so wonderful were: -Wonderful onsen experience -Helpful owners that went out of their way to make your stay memorable -Shuttle to the train station -Delicious homemade breakfast -Mix of Japanese and European style
Cons: Not really something I disliked, but be prepared for the owners not speaking much English. A few of my friends had some limited use of Japanese, which made things much smoother than they would have been otherwise.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Quiet setting, good breakfast, very friendly hosts, free use of city bicycles, laundrymat close by. Nice outdoor hot tub/Jacuzzi
Cons: The location is slightly out of town, but the hosts offer to drive you into town or local restaurants and pick you up so it wasn't a problem. This wasn't really a negative but just to make you aware that it is not in the center of town.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: This is a lovely place to stay. A characterful property, warm and cosy, in an idyllic setting. With limited English, the owner is helpful and courteous; facilities are acceptable, including a private Onsen. The rooms are of a very good size, clean and with all the necessities.
Cons: I made the mistake of forgetting my International Driving License and so couldn't rent a car - Don't make the same mistake, your own transport is an absolute must at this property!!!! The free pick-up and drop-off to/from the station is at very restricted times (to suit the owner). Communication with the hotel is quite limited but that could be due to the language barrier. Does not have a proper shower, just a handheld shower hose
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were delightful - very friendly and helpful. They gave us a lift into the town, booked us a restaurant for dinner, and took us to the mid-winter fireworks display (we didn't know there was one).
7.9 Good
Pros: Staff were incredibly accommodating, picking us up from the station, driving us to Fuji Q and back and lending us torches. Very friendly and lovely even though they claimed to have poor English. Room was decent size, comfy and clean.
Cons: Our room was set up with two single beds, but may have just been an error with the booking I made. Although my husband and I didn't mind walking through the forest to get to some restaurants for dinner, it may bother some people.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Fancy breakfast with a thoughtful touch. And there’s a onsen room where we can soak a tired body with a hot spring. The interior and exterior design brought a european ambience which is very unique and full of character.
Cons: The staff cannot speak english. It’s bit hard to communicate but they had a pocket translator. The bed is hard and the pillow is minimalist. The location is in the woods. It’s not walking distance to the nearest shop or restaurant. But they are willing to pick up and drop off every day.

Pros: View from the room is superb! We had both breakfast & dinner while stayed and they were so elegant and perfect!! Staffs were really really helpful and had a service mind.
Cons: A bit of bad smell in the in-room toilet.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: kindly employees. nice dish for beef-sukiyaki and Fujisan-zen. pick up service from/to the station is very sweet.
Cons: hot water for drink should be provide in each floor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food hotel provided is very elaborate and well-prepared. The staff members are SUPER nice and helpful. The room has a FUJI-view in good weather. Shuttle bus service provided by the hotel is VERY convenient.
Cons: Although the dinner was very well-prepared, in terms of flavor, it is not as good as what we had in other restaurants (not bad though, just not as good). But this is more of a suggestion, rather than "dissatisfaction"
10.0 Excellent
Pros: very nice view (you can see Fuji Mt in good weather) very very very nice and hospitable staffs. We request for boiled egg and they served immediatly although it is not in menu. They even prepared breakfast boxes for us since we had to check out before breakfast time.
Cons: the room was rather small for 4 people but it was not big problem at all. Personally, dinner was not my favourite taste (not bad but not enough to say it was delicious)
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Outstanding views of Mt Fuji. Incredibly prepared Japanese cuisine of the highest standard. Shuttle bus was regular and efficient. Onsen with view of Mt Fuji. Exceptionally helpful and courteous staff everywhere.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Amazing service and can easily accessible by shuttle bus of hotel between train station and hotel!

Pros: It’s Room with a View! Facing the lake and Mt Fuji view is stunning from the room
Cons: There property is a bit old and needed some updating, especially the tatami mat. But they still keep it super clean
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful room and onsen with a great view of Mt Fuji, which we were lucky enough to see during our stay. Dinner and breakfast was very good. Staff were very friendly, especially since we brought our baby.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Extremely friendly staff and very hospitable, Keen to help you in every manner possible The view of mount Fuji from the room is out of this world and worth the admission fee
Cons: The beds were traditional Japanese beds that moved apart at night. Not a large King bed for you to sleep comfortably in. Not really a soft cushioned bed They ration their towels which is something that you need to adapt to

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great staff! Shout out to Macha and Haku! Great food! Loved the teriyaki chicken, great looking hotel both outside and inside, comfy bed and nice shower rooms.
Cons: Well I found a house centipede in my bed when I woke up, can't rate the cleaningness high now..
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everyone’s so polite, and the facilities are clean and easy to use. Great location as well!
6.7 Good
Pros: The location was pretty good and it looked very clean/modern!
Cons: -Some places around the bed area could have been cleaned better. -I was sleeping the upper bed and it cracked soo much that my friend who slept in bottom bed couldn’t sleep and because it made so much noise every time I move or turn around, I was scared to wake up and bother my roommates.. Because of this I have not been able to sleep much. -It’s a tiny bit expensive for what it is.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Stylish, cosy Restaurant/Bar area, good food (prices ok for Japan) You can rent a bike (which I did not, so I cannot say something about the quality).
Cons: Noisy room. Partly because other guests were noisy (which is kind of normal in a mountain area because some are leaving very early, some are coming lately....) but if there were only 6 instead of 12 beds and maybe a thicker wall between the "rooms" it would have been more comfortable. A little board close to the plug socket would be convenient.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The food is great and price is cheap, staff is very nice
Cons: the dinner only provide few days per week, hope can provide every day
8.8 Excellent
Pros: 10mn walk from Kawaguchiko station. Good resting place for those who planned to climb Fujisan Very well decorated Breakfast was very good Dormitory was fine : we were all well separated and the bed space is pretty big Nice staff
Cons: One of my bed sheets had dirt one it. Towels were on the equipment list but I didn’t get one. Anyway beside those two details it’s excellent for the price. I recommend this place !!

Pros: Location, location, location! The owner speaks good English and you can keep your luggage here while you hike up Mount Fuji. The Japanese breakfast was sumptuous and delish. There is washing machine and private shower stalls too, though the public bath has mount Fuji views. Mind you there is no elevator, so that you have to drag your luggage up and down the stairs.
Cons: Not much. But a mirror in the room would be nice.

Pros: The hot bath is nice anyway! Great location, in front of the station.
Cons: It doesn't have an onsen but an electric hot bath.

Pros: The futon was extremely comfortable The location was great- 4 mins from station Staff very friendly and felt homely.
Cons: Noise travelled very easily which was not great when it was 5-6am or quite late and trying to sleep.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff is amazing, will help you with anything. Great location, near the station. They provide activities like calligraphy and origami. Lovely typical house.
Cons: The bathroom/showers need a little renovation.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice small kitchen
Cons: Cannot eat food in my room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff really nice and helpful. We could leave our luggage all the day after we leave, because we were going to climb fuji for free. Very close to the station.
Cons: It has no air cond. But its a fresh place.
7.1 Good
Pros: Good location and nice stuff
6.7 Good
Pros: The location was good, close to the railway station/bus station and walkable distance to Kawaguchiko lake.
Cons: The place is pretty dated, especially the kitchen and downstairs bathrooms which smelled bad and weren’t too clean. The futon wasn’t too comfortable and the room was quite hot as there was only one fan for the whole room. The room was very noisy as the house is next to the main road so you could hear the ongoing traffic as if you were sleeping in the middle of the road. Breakfast was 2 pieces of bread with butter and jam. The lady receptionist could speak English and was friendly, while the male receptionist hardly spoke at all. Thus no advice on the local area. It wasn’t that bad but I would probably try to find some other place if I was to stay in Kawaguchiko again.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Very cosy, clean and authentic
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room is large, clean, and comfortable. The common area is very relaxing. Ten minutes walking from the bus station to the guesthouse, very friendly staff, allow us to drop the luggage at 8am early in the morning.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the fact that it was a traditional Japanese house. Filled with character. Very kind staff. Booked a traditional Japanese room with tatami mats and futons, which was lovely. We woke up to a glorious view of Mt Fuji from our room. see photo. Close to train station and handy for Fuji Q Highland amusement park (caught a free bus from the station). Within walking distance of Kawaguchiko Lake and the panoramic ropeway.
Cons: Our room was at the front of the house (hence great mountain view) but it was quite noisy: both from traffic (throughout the night) and from a newspaper distribution depot opposite (which starts operations at the crack of dawn). But the staff forewarned us and earplugs are provided in the room. In the end, we were so tired from our activities that we slept like logs. I’m a light sleeper so it was just me who was disturbed. But this doesn’t detract from the overall appeal of the place.

Cons: the shuttle service only 1 to and fro from hotel to station per day. It would be good if extra shuttle service to popular restaurant for lunch or hotel could provide set lunch if prefer to stay in hotel

Pros: Fantastic view! though we could not see Mount Fuji due to the weather it was nonetheless a great view, kudos to the staff as well, very helpful and nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: La Vista was a the ultimate luxury stay after climbing Mount Fuji. The hotel was incredible. Updated, but still small enough so feel like a more intimate getaway than a large box chain hotel. All of the amenities were carefully selected and wonderful. The private onsens were such a nice touch, as well as our private open air bath on the balcony. The on site restaurant served an incredible 6+ course French menu the night we dined there, worth every penny. We hope to come back to La Vista and will certainly be recommending it to all of our family and friends.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast and ramen for supper were amazing! The room was beautiful and spacious as well. Wonderful stay despite not being able to see Mount Fuji due to the weather.
Cons: Some private onsen rooms were left a bit dirty.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I like the room I booked. It was as described. I have the view of mt. Fuji and big enough. Free orange drinks in the fridge, sweets and the coffee maker is great, you grind your own coffee so very fresh. They have private bath which I never had a chance to use as it is always occupied when I go. So check when it is not busy. Breakfast was great spread so much variety. I love it worth having breakfast. Staff were helpful. It's also clean.
Cons: The location is a not near the kawaguchiko station and the hotel shuttle is only until 6pm. So if you want to eat dinner outside of the hotel, you need to make your own way back by taxi. It would be better service if they extend to 7pm too like some hotel shuttle we noted.

Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic views of Mount Fuji from our balcony!!! Amazing private onsens with different styles.
Cons: Bar was only open between 9-11 pm.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Luxury products in the room and all necessities provided. Even your own coffee grinder to grind fresh coffee beans! The clothes and gowns were clean and comfortable too. Stunning onsen, so many to choose from. Good breakfast selection of western and Japanese food. But the view was the best bit, fantastic location for a few of the lake and Mt Fuji on a clear day, all from the comfort of your bedroom. Would definitely stay here again for a luxury retreat.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I do recommend this place
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Our room was large and very comfortable. And on a clear day, the view from the balcony is unsurpassed. Dinner was delicious and the breakfast was wonderful! Take the time to look over all the selections. There are so many, it is easy to miss some excellent choices.
Cons: I'm not sure there are dining options other than the included breakfast, dinner, and "midnight ramen'. If you want lunch, I don't think there is anywhere on the property to find it.

Cons: Place could use some nice sweep

Pros: Hosts were super kind and helpful. Room was comfortable the warm shared bath was nice and japanese breakfast was excellent.
Cons: Nothing...
7.1 Good
Pros: Room was traditional Japanese-style, which was nice, bit also quite spartan (no comfy chair). We stayed in summer and it was very hot. Fortunately airco. Breakfast was very good Japanse food (inclusief salmon). Location very close to lake, yet also close to train station. Super friendly hosts. in
Cons: Windows had no good curtains (Japanse blinds) and sun doses early, so eyes patch is recommendable. Loo and shower is shared. There is not really a place to relax in hostel.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice host and great location
Cons: Sleeping on the floor is not something that is for everyone, glad we tried it for the traditional Japanese room but the lack of furniture is tough if you've issues with your back
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was phenomenal! There was a lovely and roomy bathroom with an integrated Onsen which was also nice. We got comfortable house shoes and were treated kindly by the hosts. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean and smelled good.
Cons: The toilet sometimes had a slight smell. There is a washing machine but there is no extra room for drying the clothes. Our clothes unfortunately stayed damp and started to small after 2 days.
6.7 Good
Pros: Got to experience a bit of what a traditional Japanese room’s like. Also, the hosts were accommodating. Free parking’s available as well.
Cons: It’s just a few steps away from free parking along the lake, but not same to what i thought (like Oishi Park). Room smelled a bit like cigarette.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Delicious breakfast and the owners were super helpful. The bath was great! We would stay again.
Cons: You might want to use double futon mattresses (pick the thick ones). We slept with a single mattress the first night and didn’t manage to sleep so well. The second night we added another mattress and it helped a lot. The room has a lot of natural light so it gets bright early in the morning, it’s best to get bed early.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The nicest accomodation we had during our Japan trip. Spacious room with tatami mats, we even had view to Mt. Fuji from our room.
Cons: Absolutely nothing. Everything was perfect!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hosts are very accommodating!! They allowed us to store our luggage after we check out and even sent us to the station. Also, the private hot bath is good and relaxing.
Cons: Need to wait to have the hot bath as there’s only 1 bathroom.
