The biggest draw card of this traditional hotel is its beautiful location on Penang Hill. Our spacious and well equipped room with large window provides a nice view into the jungle surrounding the hotel. The hotel's terrasse gives a wonderful view on Georgtown. The staff is very helpful.
Considering the history of this charming vintage hotel there are some limitation in luxury you might expect from modern hotels.
This establishment has so much potential out into the right hands and a bit money spent on it
The rooms are absolutely disgusting....I didn't expect it to be luxurious...but my god you wouldn't let your dog sleep here...at check in the receptionist...(owner) I think was insistent that we were not booked for breakfast ...even though we paid extra for breakfast on the original booking .,.don't be fooled it's not cute quaint or boutique...no mosquitoe nets as listed in the room facilities and no provision for them...no kettle it bottle water....no fridge...the wardrobe was old smelly as was the room and you could see where the mould sours were that they had tried to wash away as the same with the curtain ...as I further investigated into the room I thought the bedding didn't look great and I removed the pillow case to discover pillows that had holes and stains of God only knows what it could be... I didn't even bother to remove the sheet to look at the mattress but I'm confident it would have been no better. After discussion with my partner we decided to get the hell out of there ...the whole purpose of this trip was to spend sunset and sunrise on top off the hill and to see the kek Lok si temple lit for cny considering this was the most expensive all the hotels that we stayed at...and I expected to pay extra for the location and experience and would have been happy to pay triple the price if it had a halfway decent standard I can't begin to say how disappointed we were with this establishment the Bellevue is not worthy of it 1 star rating ... fortunately the hotel we had booked for the rest of our stay in Penang could accommodate us early...
Too much expensive. Everything except the location.
