In the heart of Times Square, this New York hotel is convenient to Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, Madison Square Garden, and Central Park.
Pros: LocationCons: Air conditioner dont work properly and they told me, open the window for cool air.
The TV also have problems
Good location and room. Just need better room descPros: Nice hotel room and location. Cons: Hello,
I booked a double room for 2 adults assuming I would have 2 beds. Instead when I checked into the hotel I learned that a double room actually meant just a double bed. The hotel was so overbooked they had to send guests to different hotels and could not provide me with a room with 2 beds. My recommendation is that a description of the rooms is more explicitly described when booking the site. The hotel receptionist offered free drinks and I was provided a 10% discount on the rooms by the 3rd party booking agency. Overall my stay was okay; however, by the third day, the hotel had run out of towels.
Cons: Bathroom was too small.
Not to badPros: It was close to a lot of things to do in Time Square! Easy walking distance to the metro and other sight seeing attractions.Cons: They didn't change the bed sheet. All they did was keep turning it inside out and the back again. They only service the bathrooms as far as we could tell. They might have changed the bed covers, but couldn't tell on that part. Shower head had a leak and was spraying water in the ceiling as you took a shower and the water didn't drain very good and it would crate a small pool of soap and water at your feet.
Fantastic LocationPros: We were a couple with my 86 year old mother. Gorgeous lobby with a place to sit if you need to wait for your room. We liked the premium suite which has one double bed and two bunks. The bunks are separated from the double. The bathroom separates the bedding into two separate rooms, so allowed us privacy. The room was clean and the suites include a small refrigerator, in addition to a coffee maker. We found the room suitable for an excellent stay in the city, allowing mother to go with us to the broadway shows, within walking distance. We got a fantastic deal on the nightly rate. The location can't get any better than this. Cons: The local Fire Department is right on the same block so you will hear the sound of sirens. Being in the city is going to be noisier. I suppose the large five star chain hotels will insulate their windows more. Bring earplugs if you are affected by noise. Yes, it's an art to keep the floor from getting wet due to the design of the shower. However, we were able to position the shower head to shoot left onto the shower wall which helped a lot. This is a small problem. We found the housekeepers amiable and helpful when approached. Staff were mainly professional --- neither friendly, nor unfriendly. The concierge was more approachable and kind.
Pros: LocationCons: Noise from interior walls. Most of your time spent in a hotel is sleeping. This hotel could go a long way by noise-insulating the interior walls and/or installing soft-close door hinges. If your neighbor opens and closes their hotel room door in the middle of the night, then you will wake up every time.
Whirlwind through Times SquarePros: Right in the heart of all the sights and sounds of Times Square. Room was small, as you'd expect, but more spacious than others we've stayed in at Times Square. Staff was friendly and accommodating.Cons: The shower doesn't have a door. I guess that's a modern design, but the floors were soaked every time we showered...really soaked. Not a major issue, but an inconvenience.
Cons: Non accommodating staff, crowded rooms and restroom.
Best Location!Pros: I loved the location of this hotel and it was a really nice place to stay in. I was able to walk to all the tourist attractions and get there from JFK by subway real easily. The rooms were clean and there was even a restaurant/bar right next to the hotel.Cons: The rooms were a little small but definitely not an issue. Very comfortable for a space in NY. I can't imagine getting a better deal than what we got for location and quality.
Bad service Pros: The location was great.Cons: The water was brown and not working all day
Excellent location, clean roomsPros: The hotel is clean and comfortable, pleasant, friendly staff. The location is excellent, across the street from Walter Kerr Theater and a block from Times Square. Cons: My one and only complaint is the street noise. I was on the 4th floor and it was hard to sleep because of the noise. I would definitely stay at the Gallivant again, but I’d bring my ear plugs
Pros: Location.Cons: Small room;
Given a twin bed for couple.
No room for negotiation.
