Beautiful grounds. Fantastic and reasonably priced menu.
The restaurant in down stairs which is difficult if you have mobility issues like I have
Service was excellent from reception to the catering staff. I have allergies too of gluten milk egg and they catered fantastically well with no difficulties. We stayed in a room in an outer block. Wonderfully large size and spacious stepping out into a lake view. Under floor heating also makes it all the more cosy.
Purely my taste, the mattress was in the harder range. Soft to start but as you settle it doesn’t go too much further. The bed also did feel like it was starting to come apart (two singles attached). Possibly just some extra securing may be required.
Beautiful grounds, but near to Newbury town centre Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere Very good value breakfast and bar menu Very pleasant modern bar area
Not very family freindly, no family rooms, no childrens menu, no family friendly area to relax with children other than bar Third stay at this hotel, first stay in bridal suite, granddaughter loved it, huge and great for hide and seek, second stay in lodge type room outside main building, room basic but ok, this stay was in 3 bedded room in the Manor House (room 103) would not book this room or this type of room again, although very convenient for bar and reception, it is in need of much refurbishment, threadbare carpet, wind howling through the window at night (very cold draught) could only use one third of wardrobe as doors so difficult to slide. Although the hotel is in need of updating and refurbishing I woud stay here again, because of it's quirkiness and location and beautiful setting and the lovely staff. However it may be difficult to do so if I need a room for 3 people again. Also there is no air conditioning and rooms tend to be warm.
I loved the view the size of the room was so lovely and the bathroom and having tea and coffee in the room
All of it a great well rounded Hotel if but a bit run down in places
