Reserved a car on the app, went to pick it up at Union Station (in sub-zero temperatures of Washington DC) and they told us they had no cars. We were told this happens all the time. How is this permitted to continue?

Hertz is terrible. They do confirm reservations even when no cars are actually available. They process the payment right away, and will not reverse the transaction/refund. This has happened to me more than once with Hertz. In DC, Flint, etc Should you call them, they will insist that they can’t find the booking numbers, computer cant retrieve receipt number etc. Stay away from these fraudsters. Never, ever..

I rented an EV, but upon arrival I learned that all Hertz’s chargers were broken and the car’s battery was almost dead, so I had to pay substantially more for a different car. After dropping off the car in pristine condition, I soon learned that a $60 cleaning fee was added (despite the attendant confirming that there would be no additional fees). The fee was removed after spending an hour or so dealing with customer service, but it was still a tremendous pain. Avoid Hertz at all costs.

Not good. There was not a vehicle available even though I had a confirmation number. The location was overbooked.
The 12-person Ford Transit van perfectly met all our family's needs. The pickup and drop-off experience, working with Jamie & Shawn was simple, pleasant, positive.
Waited 45 minutes in line to pick up car. Only one attendant stuck with one customer. Should have had that customer fix there credit card issues and then get back in line instead of making 3 people wait 45 minutes for what should take 5 minutes
Customers are able to select cars through the app that aren’t available in person.
