Pros: Hotel staff was super nice and helpful, definitely one of the highlights of this property... Another highlight is the location: breathtaking vistas, extensive gardens, great swimming pools and even a Rain Forest trail inside the property!
Cons: The decor was "too much"; I guess the owner likes vintage furniture, but the mix of Spanish Colonial, Italian Renaissance, Indian vintage, and even Asian was not very fortunate and make the place look a little bit cheesy.... Sometimes less is more!!

Pros: Staff
Cons: Many stairs to go to the Room, The First room that we saw not smell good

Pros: The hotel itself is truly beautiful and amazing, especially the pool. The staff was mostly nice. The breakfast, drinks, and menu offerings were all tasty, too. The tours through the hotel were great as well. Everything was reasonably priced as well considering how nice the place is. Location was a bit further than other places, but not bad.
Cons: We went for our 10 year anniversary - I wanted to make sure everything was just right. I called twice to confirm the request that our room had a king bed instead of 2 queens. Unfortunately, when we got there, the hotel had already run out of king rooms (tropical). When I first heard of this, I put a sizable bill on the counter to nicely ask about getting it right and all they told me was that we would be moved the next night (Sunday) after other guests left. I was not happy. I later found out from another employee that they had plenty of suites available, but that room was never offered to us. To make matters worse that night, the entire hotel lost water and we were not able to shower after a long day in planes and San Jose. The hotel was solely responsible for us having the only bad night of our trip. The rooms were basic and clean, but having to pack our stuff and move made us VERY unhappy. Oh, and only a couple of the tropical rooms have any ocean view at all - partial at best for those. Don't expect anything special unless you get a suite (which appeared truly wonderful)!

Cons: I forgot some things at my room at check-out. I came back 2 hours later and asked for them. They told me to wait while they got them. After 1.5 hours of waiting I just couldn´t get my things back and lost 1.5 hours of my day waiting. I kept asking what happened and they always said 2 more minutes. So I ended up spending 1.5 hours of my weekend in the lobby arguing with the employees for them to tell me we can´t give you your things back
Excellent9.1
Pros: 24 hour pool, great breakfast, clean air conditioned rooms
Cons: Taxi drivers hanging out front. They charge between 3000-6000 collones ($6-12) just to get you out to the main road (less than 2km / around 1 mile) depending on how much they think they can get from you. Hotel does provide a free shuttle, but it doesn't run past 5pm.
Excellent9.4
Pros: Staff Room
Cons: Not very close from Espadilla, main Manuel Antonio beach, but has Biesanz Beach close by.
Excellent10.0
Pros: The hotel was great with an awesome views and landscape. H

Pros: Amazingly clean. Staff are exceptional and obviously well trained. The room we were assigned was spacious, the bed was firm and the selection of pillows satisfied our preferences. The property, the gardens and on site trails are marvellous.
Cons: Likely everyone will comment on the road noise. It is evident but is easily overcome when you consider the amenities La Fortuna offers. Frankly I can’t imagine a place CR that will provide a completely soundproof experience.
