Pros: We spent only one night here as we traveled across Europe but it was well worth it. The hotel is very clean, comfortable and convenient to the sights. But the best part was Rene, the muli-lingual front desk clerk who gave us advice on what to go, when to go and how to get there. His Bavaria ticket rail advice saved us lots of commuting cash and carried forward into Germany. We watch him give advice in German and Spanish and help people with events and directions. Fantastic staff.
Cons: It is not a luxery hotel very nice with the staff and location making it a great place to stay.

Cons: The room was dark and dingy on the basement floor. My room was off a dark hall that had a door that opened directly to the street and was insecure. The hall was very noisy with the sounds from the street. The room had a overwhelming musty smell. The staff was not helpful with my concerns about the room stating that there was nothing they could do because they were full.

Cons: The hotel rooms are old and literally have baseboards peeling off the wall. The toilet is tiny and there's barely any elbow space in the entire restroom. There was dust all over the furniture and stains on the towels. The elevators on our floor did not even work. This is falsely advertised as a 4-hotel but is outdated and horrible quality for the money.

Pros: My wife and I had never been to Salzburg but chose Hotel Markus Sittikus based on its location and price. Overall we were very pleased with our choice. The price was one of the most reasonable we were able to find in central Salzburg, and we felt the combination of price and location was just right for us. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the Salzburg Altstadt (old town) but it is a very easy route along a main road to get there. We had tons of questions when we first arrived and the front desk staff was extremely helpful and polite. The hotel is a representative for Panorama Tours (the main provider in town), and they will book the tours and make arrangements for you, which was also very convenient. The breakfast service provided by the hotel is somewhat pricey but is one of the best european-style continental breakfasts I have ever had, with a great selection of fresh breads, cold cuts, cheeses, vegetables, and delicious spreads. Great fresh-ground coffee tops it off. Finally, due to the Syrian refugee crisis there were no trains leaving from the Salzburg Hbf for Germany, so the hotel staff arranged a taxi to take us across the border to Freilassing, Germany where we caught a train to Munich. They even negotiated a fixed price for us so we would not get overcharged due to the heavy traffic at the border. Overall we were very pleased with this hotel and would definitely stay there again.
Cons: The only downside to the hotel is that the interior and rooms seem to be a little bit dated. The lobby, sitting room, and other communal areas were comfortable but could really use some updates. The bedroom was also comfortable but felt like it hadn't been updated since the '90's.

Pros: Markus Sittikus is a very cozy, charming and friendly hotel near the Mirabell Garden in Salzburg. Nice boutique rooms, good value for the price. It was a bit of an inconvenience to not have a desk attendant at night, as I arrived after 10pm. I was redirected to the front desk at a sister hotel a few blocks away. Beyond that, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Cons: This hotel is SO NOISY. The street outside turned into party central early evening and raged until morning. That’s one thing when you can keep your Windows shut but when it’s 30+ C, you can’t lead you suffocate. This hotels solution to cooling the room in sweltering heat was a tiny desk fan (10cm, seriously). Too hot and too noisy to sleep. Never again and I honestly think they owe us some credit back for the misery and lack of notice on the situation.

Cons: - Staff was not too friendly. They did their job, but behaved cold, making me not feel too welcome. That could of course be due to the fact that English is not too familiar language to them, which explains the coldness, and uneasiness in communication, but since I am comparing this hotel to others this is to be mentioned.

Pros: I loved the reception as I was offered a glass of water at the bar while I checked in. Free luggage storage was also nice. The room has tea and a refrigerator. Room feels brand new and is very clean. I liked that they provided glass mugs for tea and a beer glass for the beer I bought from the supermarket.
Cons: The buses are a bit confusing and this hotel is not walkable distance from the train station. The room itself was nearly perfect. The only thing I think could be improved would be to add USB outlets as this is very handy for international guests. I wish I could have stayed all 3 nights at this hotel while I was in Salzburg, but the rates move around dramatically from night to night. This seems common. I saved about €100 by staying in a different hotel each night of my stay in Salzburg.

Pros: great breakfast and everything was very clean. Front desk person told me I could park the car safely on the street over the week-end and at night on days we were out. Saved $$. No odors.
