10.0 Excellent
Pros: I had been in many and much expensive hotels, however, this hotel is the best hotel that I have ever been in. The price is more than reasonable. Rooms and Lobby in high standard. Best quality alcoholic drinks, as much as you like. Bars at the lobby, the pool and in the private beach. The food presents variety of the best of the best. The staff are very friendly particulars Jeniffer and Franklin. Beautiful pool and hot tub. This hotel is heaven.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The beaches nearby, the heated swimming pool, the view from our room, the “extras” the hotel offers including customizable pillows and aromas, and the service.
Cons: The lack of available excursions available and the entertainment was not good.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff is nice and super helpful, the drinks and food are surprisingly good for an "all inclusive" concept. The views are just AMAZING which would be helpful in Jan when whales come. But don't expect any turquoise color of sea water, it's too deep for that. The hotel is quiet in early November, maybe just 20% of rooms occupied. No huge tour groups, just independent travelers.
Cons: The only thing that concerned us was that due to very strong waves and high tide the private hotel beach was not really there. The waves would reach the sunbeds washing away our things. But hotel provides a free transfer to the island nearby, there is a very pretty proper beach, though no food or drinks are included as it is just a public beach. Check in is at 3 pm which leaves you without any lunch. But you can order snacks through room service.

7.9 Good
Pros: Everything, especially location!
Cons: Air conditioner was out of order while staying there. In this climate it didn’t add any comforts
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I love the employees services. Excellent clean service.
Cons: Many times not hot water. They need to fix that problem, for ever
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Food was great, varied and good taste. Staff is incredibly nice and committed to the customer. Location is simply amazing.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Customer service and meals
Cons: At the time of booking I was not informed that the transfer to island was included. I had to hire transportation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the location was beautiful
Cons: The bar at pool closes at 6pm however by 4pm they were shutting everything down, no frozen drinks. Reservations for dinner need to be done days ahead not the day before as told being that everything gets booked.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: -The staff in the hotel is very friendly and polite -Beautiful territory
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff, Claudio, the manager, was great dealing with our needs Beautiful hotel
Cons: Our bedroom had a private bathtub that faced another building and had no privacy at all
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location and amazing staff
Cons: Air conditioning could be better
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful environment. Nice private beach. Great breakfasts and dinners. Easy to get seated at pools, beaches, and buffet restaurants. Great bar service on the beach.
Cons: You can't book specialty dinners until you arrive, and they were booked the first night we got there. Bed was rock hard. Lunch buffets were not very good. All-inclusive was nice, but the only wines included were house wines which weren't good, and no light beer. Our biggest complaint was the discovery, after we got there, that there was a big push to sell you on their vacation club/time-share, and the transportation company they use to get you to and from the hotel also tries to sell you excursions.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing coffee and piña coladas. Small kitchen outside was very clean and fully equipped. Staff were very friendly. Great location if you want a bit of quiet. 5 minute drive into town.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was great staying here, walking to the beach and relaxing on the balcony.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We really appreciated the jacuzzi and barbecue abeible. The room was really nice
Cons: Water pressure
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Liked it. Clean rooms. Beautiful garden and is very close to one of the most beautiful beaches I have seen (Playa Aserradero). Staff very nice and friendly (Francesco and Andrea). Pool and other amenities. BBQ available on my request.
Cons: Jacuzzi was not clean.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked everything from my stay. The owners and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, they will help you with everything you need. Suggestions on the area, beaches to visit, restaurants to go, they know! The property is gorgeous, very well taken care of, EXTREMELY CLEAN (yes, in caps!) the rooms are spacious, bed is very comfortable. The breakfast is satisfying: fresh fruits, juice, coffee, a sandwich or toast and your choice of eggs. I stayed in a 1st floor bedroom and i had my own kitchenette, so you can cook your own meals there. The closest beach is a mere 5min walk. The onsite bar is stocked(great cocktails!) Overall, it's a great place to stay in and i will for sure be coming again! Thank you!
Cons: I didnt like that i had to leave!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the location is exceptional, the staff is excellent and they inform the guest of any attraction or beaches to visit, we choose the studio with kitchen and its distribution is perfect for a private or social stay. Please keep in mind that it is a tourist area in full development and some facilities such as supermarkets lack varieties of products. The prices of some restaurants can be considered a bit expensive depending on the budget, but it is a matter of logistics to be able to have fresh products due to the remoteness of the city that can have more products. Do not hesitate to book
Cons: For more comfort install air conditioners even if they charge an extra, but this is not relevant
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staying at 21 palms was one of the best stays of our lives. We were welcomed by a very friendly Luis who showed us to our room to which we were pleasantly surprised as the construction of the houses are to a much higher quality than other establishments we’d previously stayed in, in the Dominican Republic. It was a spacious, comfortable and well equipped room which we very much appreciated. We met Francesco in the evening whom was very helpful and kind, providing us with all kinds of information and advice in order to make sure we get the most and best out of our stay in las Galeras. Breakfast was always great consisting of fresh fruits, eggs, sandwiches and a cake. Moreover, we enjoyed many evenings of great conversations with Francesco and on one night, over a barbecue. The facilities at 21 Palms are one of the best we’ve come across and the location perfect as it is directly at the beach among the palm trees. I highly recommend 21 Palms and insist one to not hesitate, as 21 Palms was the best place we stayed in during our trip in the Dominican Republic. We surely will be back again!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Managers, maids...they are more like friends who will do everything for you.Very relaxed feeling of being in a nice spot with good people! Breakfast, always fresh , tasty and plenty.
Cons: I like everything

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous location and friendly staff.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great views all around, good food and very kind staff. Great place to stay with kids of all ages.
Cons: The hotel rooms are furnished in an older style, the bathrooms could use some maintenance as well. Internet is not so good. Restaurants are not open every night, some of them only 2 nights a week.
7.4 Good
Pros: Waitress Emperatriz, manager I don't remember his name and ladies that clean the bedroom they did a really good job ... they made our stay feel better... the beach was so cute....
Cons: First of all the segurity man at the gate was really rude to me... he made me feel like I was not body there... I was so craying about this bad experience was really times... I just want to forget about it...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Mostly the view, but the stuff and the food were amazing as well
Cons: There is nothing negative I can say about this place except that the pool hours should be extended.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The beautiful blue water
Cons: Everything was beautiful. No complaints
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The waitress he is the best always lafing happy and had worke I recommend for better position
7.0 Good
Pros: Just as pictured on the website. I loved the pools. The spa was absolutely wonderful ❤ we received massages from hotel employees. Front desk agents were very professional. Staff great waiters.
Cons: Food was horrific @ the buffet. Same food everyday. 3 restaurants but only 1 open per night. Very few staff members speak English. No one acknowledges you when they see you. Bartender needs to learn new drinks. Entertainment director needs to up his game.
6.0 Good
Pros: The staff was pleasant, the food was great, and the view was amazing. Really enjoyed being in paradise with my family and my friends. The front desk people were very helpful and pleasant always.
Cons: I think they could've provided washcloths, they could've had cleaner bedding and provided not just the morning housekeeping but also evening turndown service. I think the staff could be prompter when requesting items for the room as well. My girlfriend was getting married here and I was apart of her bridal party. The wedding coordinator didn't show up to the rehearsal -- which I found that to be confusing and very unprofessional.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super clean, beautiful accommodations, wonderful staff, great food
Cons: Nothing
3.8 Mediocre
Cons: I stayed at the brand Bahia principe Tulum many years ago and had an exceptional experience so did not hesitate to book the Grand Bahia Principe Cayacoa on my recent trip to the Dominican Republic. From the start to the end, the whole experience was distinctly average and sub-par to the 5 star rating that is so proudly embellished on the walls. It was so distinctly average that I checked out an entire night early and flew back to New York to avoid another underwhelming day. Here are some of the notable complaints: * The drinks were ok except at the poor bar where cheap spirits and low quality mixers are used. * The beds were less comfortable than my bed at home. I struggled to sleep the first night due to the low quality mattress. * I used the gym daily. Neither of the treadmills were in operation and I had to ask on two separate occasions for the only water to be filled in <25 degree heat. * The shower in both the gym and the room took a long time to heat up and was no more than a cheap shower head. * The staff were ok. They were sometimes helpful, sometimes unhelpful. Consistency at a 5* resort is a baseline. * The food was fine if you are ok to eat solely carbohydrate as a vegetarian. My only source of protein was eggs at breakfast and I could only make one a la carte reservation for my final day. I had left by then. * I paid $40 for a manicure which chipped two days later. The salon down the road charged $8. Five times the price for an ‘ok’ manicure is not good enough. * I only took a credit card with me and did not realise the hassle this would cause. Neither ATM machine on site take all credit card providers and there is no cash back facility at the resort. After nearly two hours with the hotel team, the closest ‘solution’ they could find to get me a taxi back to the airport was to be escorted by a local taxi driver to his brothers gas station. Not exactly a safe solution Overall, an average experience
7.5 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Is too far for the customers from US We don’t have direct flight to Samana, from the DR Airport to Samaná is 2 1/2 drive back and forth. It’s almost half of my vacation day take away.
Bahia Principe Grand El Portillo - Samaná - Bedroom

9.1 Excellent (3,684 reviews)
S$ 300+
Overview Reviews
Located in Las Terrenas, this beachfront property is connected to a shopping center, 1.6 mi (2.5 km) from Punta Popy Beach, and 2.2 mi (3.6 km) from La Iglesia Beach. Playa Ballenas and The Whales (Cayos Las Ballenas) are also within 6 mi (10 km).
5.4 Okay
Pros: Buffet restaurant is top notch! Always very fresh food and plenty of choice! Beach is great and you can walk to las Terrenas over the Beach (about 4 km or 50 min).
Cons: The noisy rooms are dated, the white towels are rather grey, and I doubt we got the booked 48m2 junior suite, but rather an 32m2 ordinary room. Personnel seems to work only for tips, which could mean that they are underpaid. When arriving, we were given two dinners at an a-la-carte restaurant, but when trying to book, only two slots were available, as indicated by this very arrogant booking guy, of which one of the dinners was at 9 pm, which was too late for our 8 year old daughter. Well, avoid the a la carte restaurants, because the buffet restaurant is better quality.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything in this hotel is awesome and great. The grounds, beach, rooms, furnitures, everything in room worked right the views and garden were perfect for me. Food is impressive good. Reception and Public Relations are very helpful. Animation team is very good and funny.
Cons: The service at the Buffet. Very bad and extremely poor service. They did not make me feel welcome. Never asked me do you want more water or coffee? I had to wait a lot to be served... very disappointed with this. The rest is OK. A suggestion: use the theater for the shows.., all nights were raining and they gave the shows outdoors all seat wet... all people looking shelter. Please don´t use the Village if the weather is rainy!!
9.6 Excellent
Cons: Air conditioner could have worked better. Room was not cool enough.
7.0 Good
Pros: Loved the water park
Cons: The ac in the rooms weren’t very cold
7.0 Good

9.6 Excellent

Pros: The beach was amazing. Bartending staff we also great.
Cons: Staff could be a little more service oriented. I know thag it's challenging ft staff to always be "on". It's a tough job.

7.0 Good
Pros: The staff was great, the pool area was very nice. The bedrooms were spacious.
Cons: Some times it was impossible to find a place near the pool or beach as German tourists were leaving their towels blocking the sunbeds for an entire day.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We spend wonderful 3 weeks at the hotel. Everything was amazing. We came as a family: two adults and a teen; all of us were equally satisfied with offered entertainment and amenities. The rooms are very clean and the service is impeccable; the staff is extremely attentive. A separate appreciation to the animation team who do a super job every single day and night. Very enjoyable games and fantastic shows and discos. Furthermore, the hotel itself is located in a very beautiful place. It is practically Garden of Eden (which is inhabited by Colibris by the way)
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location in Coson Beach, one of the most beautiful in Samana. Great staff, very attentive, wonderful grounds with a lovely pool and beach area. The food was great (except the included wine, which could be better, but you can purchase better ones). (The selection of rums, gins and whiskeys was very good though!) Loved the a-la-carte- restaurants, with very attentive staff and more interesting meals, if you'd like something different and more romantic than the buffet. The location is wonderful. THe hotel is not too large, never felt crowded. Not your typical all-inclusive, much more high- end.
Cons: Would like to have been able to change the thermostat in the bedroom, the air conditioning was quite cold, but then again we never asked the hotel to modify it for us, which they may have been able to do.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked Everything, the food. My room, the staff, location, everything
Cons: I need more wifi in the whole hotel. Thats all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food, service, etc. I found everything great, and would like to come back
Cons: Try to get into one of the restaurant while there, but there were private events going and we couldn’t get in
10.0 Excellent
Pros: EVERYTHING!
Cons: It is an excellent place to relax, with excellent service and delicious meals. Also it has an entertainment group that keeps you busy all day, if you would like that.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Nice food and outstanding service by the wait staff at the A la Carte restaurants, nice beach and swimming pool area.
Cons: The worst review goes to the reception staff who almost always appeared unwilling to help or do any work. We asked twice for our coffee machine to be fixed and for a new robe as we were given one with a hole and we are still waiting! Our room felt constantly damp, it was hard for anything to dry and there was a lack of hooks and spaces to hand clothes and swimmers to dry. It would have been helpful to have a board or flyers with information about the excursions available rather than having to go into the dedicated office during the limited opening hours. The hotel is far from town or anything at walking distance. Facilities are nice but not outstanding considering the price. We were charged the full amount of the stay on our card 24h before the option to cancel expired and without notice. We won’t be coming back in a hurry.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Very nice beachfront. Personnel was very kind and helpful. The food and drinks were good.
Cons: Very humid. The bed was wet all the time and the room had a bad smell because of humidity. No hot water from the shower (just slightly warm).
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Small complex which was nice and right on the beach. Beautiful beach but waves quite choppy. Nice pool area with Jacuzzis.
Cons: As a vegetarian the food choice was limited and poorly labelled. Had to ask the chefs every day what was in the dishes. Unnecessary amount of meat added to vegetable dishes. The staff in the restaurant /buffet seemed to be very random in their table attention.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: I really like the rooms were very clean and the staff was very helpful
Cons: No complaint

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We rented a duplex room for 4 with sea views and we slept two nights in the balcony as there was a Bed in there with a Mosquito net which was a fabulous experience! The location is top, walking distance 1 minute from the beach. The staff so nice all of them, to highlight Yolande, he was willing to help us since the very first minute we arrived. We forgot something in the safe box and they were sending someone to our new location (tips of course) but incredible as we didn't have to come back there 40 min driving. Also we used the BBQ as we bought some fish! Everything awesome!

Pros: The location one side of beach.

Cons: The hotel sort of looks like a ghost town.
1.0 Poor
Pros: The staff, all the hard working people that helped me and my Dominican wife!! Thank you for all your kindness!! you guys now who you are! Thank you again!!!
Cons: It all starts at the top!!! And says everything, about the management!! If you dont believe me, please look at the past reviews!! I know why they offer a Kitchen in the rooms!! Management doesn't care about the food one bit!!! My wife and I were there for two nights!! never had one good meal, that we enjoyed together!! Worst Management I have ever seen!! Example, are lunch came and the food was unbeatable!! We refused the meal and didn't have lunch at all!! A man walks by, and said too me in English, can I help you!!???? I looked at this man up and down!! This man to me looked like a tourist, he had no identification on his shirt, no badge to say he is from the Hotel! So I simply said to the man, you can't help me!!! Know I'm going to school that manager!! If your customer is upset, and the customer says, no you can't help me!!! The first thing, out of his mouth should have been, I'm the manager of this Hotel, please what is the problem!!??? I forgot too tell you that I'm married to a woman from the Dominican Republic, and she was upset as all!! The day of check, the kind girl that check us in, asked if things were OK!?? I said no!! say asked if I whated to speak to the manager? I said yes, if he has time! it was the same man, dressed in nice clothes, but with no ID! I was surprised by his reaction, he listened and handed me a business card out of his pocket! And I handed right back to him!!! As he walked way from me with a smile that have nothing nice to say!! In enclosing, I now this guy doesn't own that place, and the people who do should be very concerned!!! That manager doesn't respect the hotel he works for, by simply not identifying himself, and showing that he works for the hotel!! The staff was great, but I'm sorry, If I was booking a vacation, listen to the little things please! make your money work for you!!
8.8 Excellent
Cons: Breakfast was poorly organized and it took ages to get what you want even few customers were present
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing views, amazing people, amazing food, amazing prices great customers service
Cons: Zero complaints everything was on point
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was clean and so quiet, finally got a good sleep! Was more than we expected, top notch.
Cons: If there is a negative, it’s that there is no beach, however the infinity pool makes up for that in my opinion.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: + Location + The Staff + Breakfast + Mini Market + Restaurants
Cons: - Room was a little dusty - Main entrance guards were a little rude on sunday night

5.4 Okay
Pros: It is a nice little place at walking distance from la playita and the Main Street, comfortable and quiet.
Cons: The gas was leaking, so there was a gas smell, there was a big cockroach in the room along with spiders.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: They accept dogs
Cons: I don’t know even when to start , let’s say that what they say they offer it’s not the reality. The room is full of mosquitoes and bags ,there is no air in the bedroom it’s impossible to sleep there , the air conditioning not cooling at all and makes a tractor noise, the water in the toilet doesn’t go down, at noon we wanted to take a shower and there was no water ! The stairs leading to the room are unsafe , my husband almost fell from the height. They offer a paid dinner but when we ask there is no dinner we need to go find outside. We realized that we come to experience in nature but at least they won’t lie about everything they offer for the price you pay .we couldn’t stay for the second night we returned home a day before. There was no refund or understanding ! We loose time and money . The problem is that what they offer can’t be 212$ for only 2 nights , with all the problems they have ! One big disappointment , not recommending the place to anyone and will never visit that place again .

8.8 Excellent
Pros: THE BREAKFAST was perfect, coffee, juice, bread, jams, eggs, that was the best part! The staff was wonderful very informative, our toilet didn't work when we first walked in the room and they immediately fixed it. Really quiet, romantic, you feel more like a guest in someone's house than like you're at a hotel. We were free to use the dining tables outside to eat, they even allowed us to use the kitchen microwave and refrigerator for our things. Great stay:)
Cons: You have to pay extra for air conditioning, but the fan was strong, so we didn't really need it. There was absolutely no sign of hot water in the shower for the 3 days we were there.

8.3 Excellent

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great views all around, good food and very kind staff. Great place to stay with kids of all ages.
Cons: The hotel rooms are furnished in an older style, the bathrooms could use some maintenance as well. Internet is not so good. Restaurants are not open every night, some of them only 2 nights a week.

7.0 Good
Pros: Just as pictured on the website.

Pros: the location was beautiful
