Pros:Very close distance to pretty much all of downtown San Diego. We walked from the hotel to the ballpark, convention center, downtown, the waterfront and more. You can really immerse yourself in San Diego from this location. I liked the ice machine because it had no wait time and produced quality ice chips. The hotel has a structured layout with an elevator and staircase making it easy and accessible for anyone with a disability. The staff was very friendly, always helpful and quick to respond to any inquiries I had. There was a mini fridge (good size but took a while to cool down contents), a microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer, desk and chair, television with a lot of channels and a good size room.
Cons:Lesson learned: Google Street view of area before booking. I was unaware of the local area before booking and found myself surrounded by questionable members of society. You are directly across from I-5, two blocks from a park under a freeway where many homeless and drug addicted individuals seem to congregate. Furthermore there is an ally which runs directly behind the hotel which I would hear various noises from including profanity, a man throwing up and another who threw what I'm guessing is a bottle onto the ground. Parking could potentially be tight if you showed up on a very busy holiday but I personally had no issues finding a spot. I would not recommend street parking unless you like high levels of risk. For the room I did not like the lack of light in the closet space, or for that matter the amount of light in the room in general. There was one overhead light directly over the window, two bedside wall lamps and one standing lamp by the arm chair.

Pros:Staff was friendly & opened breakfast early one morning.
Cons:Sketchy neighborhood to be generous. Sink was a slooooow drain. Smoking room has cigarette burns in tub. Not an attractive room at all!

Pros:I liked that it was cheap compared to other hotels around the area.
Cons:I was raised around a rough neighborhood but even some of the individuals staying there or around didn't seem like people in their right mind, one of the nights the people next to us argued all night threw beer bottles at the walls and even kicked our door a couple times until I went out there and tried to see what there problem was. Told the clerk and he said he was going to contact the law and he never did had to stay another night and the people staying in that room didn't get kicked out or told anything about there actions from the night before, you live and you learn never staying there again.

Cons:Area is a bit sketchy, some people we're sketchy as well. Smelled like marijuana. And 18 minutes away from nearest beach.
