It was a cute room. Bathroom was small but really nice.
The beds were so uncomfortable. Neither of us could sleep. The door didn’t seal very well. There were some bugs crawling around in the morning. There was a roach over on the counter by the sink right before we left.
It was a splendid 2 night get away. We sat out on a bank lined with a bed of pine needles watching fish, turtles and several iguanas while the spray from the creek fountains formed a gorgeous rainbow. The pool was clean and sparkling and many tables and chairs were shaded with palm trees. The staff went out of their way with friendliness and provided us with anything we needed. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook full meals. The local restaurants ranged from classy Italian to ecsquisit steaks and ribs..within a half a block. There were liquor stores, deli and grocery markets, and gift shops a block away. If the rating stars went up to a 10, the Anchor Inn would have to be a 10. They even gave us a Doggie Basket to keep, with blankets, bisquits, a set of 2 metal bowls and doggie bags. The surrounding grounds are full of things to do..shuffle board, corn hole, horseshoes, bikes, so many things.
There was a problem in the beginning of our stay with "crazy ants", but being a Floridian and familiar with them, we brought Terro that you drop on thin cardboard and it kills them. I have them in my own home so I wasn't alarmed.
The cottage had a lot of space with couch,,dining table, two seperate sleeping eooms. Laundry facilities complimentary.
Swimming pool small, hot and along the road. Furniture bit out of date. Ants in the house If you can afford it stay at the beach side. It is some hassle to go to the beach.
Close to restaurants. The girl at the desk at check-in was very nice.
Furniture and kitchen area was outdated. Small ants in bathroom and on dining table.
It was on the main road and convenient, but not loud or overly trafficked. The Inn was also near one of the roads to the beach so it was only about a 15 minute walk down a tree-lined sidewalk. The office staff was very pleasant and helpful; I liked that they respected my privacy and changed linens based on when I wanted them rather than on as schedule. The amenities were excellent with a large bathroom, a spacious main room, and all the kitchen implements needed to regularly make dinner. The availability of a washer/dryer was an unexpected perk as well. I didn't make use of the pool, but it looked well-maintained, and the grounds were well-kept and picturesque. The decor was quaint and very traditional Florida-beach, which was perfect for the destination. When we checked in they had a welcome basket for my dog including bowls, biscuits, business bags, and extra linens to protect the furniture. My dog isn't allowed on furniture, but it let me know they were conscious of keeping the room pleasant while being pet-friendly.
