Santo Domingo hotels in Bella Vista

Pros: This boutique hotel is nicely located close to the famous Malecon of Santo Domingo (but you do need a car or some transport). The on-site restaurant (Casa Vera) with a lot of variety of well-prepared choices. The staff is very friendly. The hotel has the potential of becoming really one of the top places to stay at, but they need to increase their attention to details. The ordred special package for the room was actually excellently prepared. They also need to add some fast check out options such as online or in-room checkout via the TV. See my other comments for specific improvements required.

Cons: The check-in took forever to happen. I had asked for early check-in at two p.m. (vs. the usual three p.m.), and only got to our room at 4 p.m. The manager asked us to stay in the restaurant and grab a coffee while waiting. We did. They actually charged us for our coffee consumption (which should have been for free since it was a delay caused by them), and no compensation or voucher or any service was offered in exchange. This is another issue why this hotel is NOT at the expected TOP service level for the clientele they want to attract. The bathroom fixtures in the shower were not well installed and it was impossible to control (temperature and flow) nor even to shut off, and was constantly leaking. The roof top bar/discotheque was NOT insulated from a noise perspective and it was constanly noisy in the room until two a.m. in the morning. The en-suite Jaccuzzi was very old and some of its buttons were not functional. Needed to call someone to change the water. The room service (which brings in food from the hotel's Casa Vera restaurant) was good and timely, but twice they made errors in the breakfast order, even when they repeat it back to you over the phone. Finally, since we checked out early (at 6:30 a.m.) there was no way the clerk at the front desk could respond to my challenge for the coffee charge arguing that he had to wait for a manager to cancel it and to verify my claim. He charged me the fee, and said that they would credit me after the verification (this never happens in the RD), whereas it should have been the other way, they should have granted me the disputed amount which was very minor. The funny thing is that I offered to check out the night before precisely to resolve this problem, but the manager on duty assured me that the clerk in the morning can take care of all my needs. The hotel is very good, and we had an enjoyable experience.

Pros: Good location. Staff was extremely cordial. The restaurant was fine. The common areas were updated.

Cons: Unlike the sunny rooms in the website, my room faced the interior and was dark and unappealing. The bathroom was in serious need of remodeling. The tub was gross and the staff told me that it was permanently stained. There is no gym at the hotel and, although guests can use an adjacent private facility, it only opens from 7 am to 7 pm, which doesn’t allow business travelers to work out and get in with their day.

Cons: A lot of noise in the hallways

Pros: In the city everything is close by within walking distance

Cons: Just remember that they offer services none are included in the price of the room. Which no one mentions while checking in. I go to the restaurant expecting breakfast to be free and was told I had to pay. I went back to the front desk to ask about airport shuttle service had to pay for that as well. Bad misrepresentation.

Pros: All about the hotel, expecially the costumer service.

Pros: Affordable and in close proximity to shopping malls and grocery stores. Free parking is available. Delicious breakfast buffet.

Cons: Around 3am, an intruder walked into our room and then walked out. This was a terrifying experience but hotel insisted that we must have left the door open. A few days later, we overheard another guest make a similar complaint. The bed was uncomfortable.

Pros: Nice staff, great location and Amazing roof top bar /pool

Cons: room are small,bed is uncomfortable, they have a discotec on first floor and you are able to listen the music even if you are in the 4 floor until 3-4 am so you are unable to rest, staff with some exceptions are not friendly at all,bathroom is not good that's why they don't have pictures of there bathroom online, elevator if there is 2 people in there you are crowed, parking is uncomfortable I wouldn't recmmended

Cons: I did not like having to wear the new bracelet all the time. I understand their need to control clientele versus public entering premise though. I also did not daily fees for visitors.

Cons: It is dated. Needs a lot of TLC. The noise of the Club is until 6:00am in the weekend and you can not rest. This hotel is like going back to the 80s. The decoration and ilumination is very dark. Needs a lot of work.

Cons: Toilet was not working properly, had to switch rooms. Did not have a TV remote
