9.2 Excellent
Cons: Overall was good as Japanese standard.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location really good and easy to walk around shopping streets and sendai station The view from room really nice Clean and everything new
Cons: Room is quite small for big suitcases
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The Breakfast is superb.
4.0 Okay
Cons: The internet there was very poor. It worked for a while early in the morning but never worked again during daytime and night from our room (8th floor). The staff working there first said it was caused by our Chinese phones, but I told her none of my devices could got connected, including ipad and laptop. Plus, my husband and I are from the United States. Then, she just impatiently showed me her cellphone, saying that she can connect to the WiFi with no problem so it should be our fault. She also said no one else complained about the WiFi so that our complaint was invalid. However, the inability to connect to internet during the two days was obvious. We had never experienced any internet problem during our two-week trip in Japan. Above all, the front-desk staff's indifference and the way she talked really surprised me as the Japanese service should not be like that, let alone the omotenashi.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast and staff were beyond expectations. Nice people and excellent buffet.
Cons: This is really beyond the hotel's control. The property has not aged well. It is in pretty bad need of new carpets and facility upgrades. It's not dirty or uncomfortable - not at all. But it feels like stepping into a time machine and going back to the late 90s.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice organizing and decoration. Garden great view with plenty of lighting on the tress surrounding. Staff were very polite, friendly and helpful.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We selected this place cos we wanted to run and cycle around the area. It’s such a great place to do this at Izumi Park...wide footpaths, quiet streets, beautiful trees and fresh air. As it’s Christmas, the hotel’s garden and chapel are full of fairy lights, truly magical! U can even sit outdoors with roast marshmallows and enjoy your hot cocoa. If we ever renew our wedding vows, this would be the place...or maybe my kids can hold their wedding here! Truly amazing! The rooms are spacious, the foldaway beds are not very supportive...so it’s better for younger children (mine are teens), the Sendai Izumi outlet mall is just next door with great shops and a food court across the road. Driving into the city was also a breeze...
Cons: The extra beds they provided in the room were not supportive. The pillows could be better too.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I stay in room 515 and very very appreciate the front desk lady she was so worm and helpful to us so please thank you to her.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast,It's so tasty and various. Altought location is a bit far from center because it's near good view good natural background. (And It has shuttle bus for fix this problem.) It's match with you if you want to long stay for relax but it's not for sighseeing other travel point.
Cons: Next time I want "Kaiseki dinning meal" in Japan tradition room. I can't find this function in booking web that why I'm not sure about it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place and amazing time during Xmas. Nice atmosphere watching and enjoying the illuminations walking around the park of the Hotel. Beautiful rooms and the inner layout of the hotel is very posh.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel had a Family mart right at the lobby , so you don’t need to go out if you need something quick. You do get wonderful coffee at the family mart too, just to start your day before heading out. The check in and check out process was easy and quick.
Cons: It was across the station, which is very convenient but is a bit of a hassle when you have a lot of luggage to cross the street with, specially coz you are not hiring any taxi for across the street.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable at such a low price. Will definitely book there again.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It’s great deal for 8100 yen to have such a big room and location just 5 mins walk from Sendai station. It has shopping mall nearby and convenient store just downstair. Nice location

Pros: Very historic buliding and very close to down town train station. Also there is a very close 24 HR supermarket after 3 mins walk. Very very friendly owner! Super reasonable price for stay.
Cons: Just maybe old water supply system that shower water is not very hot.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very welcoming and friendly staff. Cozy atmosphere and it was my first traditional Japanese Inn. The staff has good understanding of English and are happy to try to communicate in different languages, it was a great experience.
Cons: The walls to the rooms are a bit thin so noise from outside could be a problem, but most people didn't bother during bedtime.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staffs were super nice, helpful and supportive! We deeply appreciate all of their helps and suggestions during our stay, and definitely recommend this place for foreign travelers.
Cons: There is not a thing that we dislike this place: NONE.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The garden, finishing touches, the music at night, the books on offer, the breakfast, the warm rooms, the bath, the general ambience, staff were very nice, location was very good.
Cons: I am a light sleeper. The floor is wooden, so I can hear people walking by.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, true hospitality, feel at home
9.6 Excellent
Pros: great location and `I love to stay in a guest house with Japanese style accommodation. The place is super clean
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice ryokan /youth hostel. The people are very friendly. The traditional japanese breakfast is changing every day and was delicious. Also there is a little patio/garden with a shrine. Everything is lovely done and the atmosphere is great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our hosts were extremely welcoming, friendly and hospitable and it was a pleasure to stay at Chitoseya Ryokan. The Ryokan is very comfortable and extremely clean; three of us friends shared a room and we had no issues at all. We were welcomed with tea and rice cakes in our room which was a lovely touch. The traditional Japanese breakfast was delicious and we would highly recommend it! The showers are great and I also took a hot bath which was a perfect end to the night :)

Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and a safe deposit box at the front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
6.7 Good
Cons: Though the hot spring place was amazing, the room I stayed wasn’t very clean, there were spider webs at the corner of our room and the ceiling of the hot spring place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The baths are all top class, and the small rotenburo down close to the river is simply wonderful, close enough to feel surrounded by the sounds of the waterfalls and the local frogs while watching the water. And a very satisfying oil massage afterwards. 2 nights, both dinners superb, and although I've lived in Japan for 36 years the chef still surprised me with some new menu items that I've never experienced before!
Cons: The breakfast room atmosphere is a disappointment! No problem at all with the buffet breakfast, but the dining space is depressingly dark; the windows and wall panels on the window side were not open, and the guests were not allowed (so it seemed) to use those window-side tables. And inside that closed-off space the lighting was just not bright enough. It's MORNING, okay? So a bright, light cheerful space should be there for us to wake up in. Open it up, and turn up the lights!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is the best for everything.
Cons: Nothing much activity can do in Akiu.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff who helped check us in and orient us to our room was exceptional. He spoke fluent English so was able to explain everything to us with extra care and detail, including showing us how to properly tie our sachiko. He really was terrific! I regret that we weren't able to say goodbye to him the next day. Also, the buffet breakfast was a highlight from the entire Japan trip. I would definitely recommend treating yourself to this once in a lifetime experience.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: The bath was really nice! Definitely the selling point for me.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely clean rooms and common areas of the hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast start time is flexible and excellent value - really enjoyed it. Also enjoyed the matcha experience offered.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It’s a beautiful classic ryokan with a lovely and caring staff. Room was spacious and the ryokan was very quiet.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I really liked the comfort of the room and the classy atmosphere of this Ryokan. Everything in my room and also the communal bathroom was very clean, staff made sure to clean around all the time. I could sleep very well on the futon and enjoyed a lot the green tea which was offered in the room as a complimentary offering. What stood out the most, was surely the breakfast. Breakfast was superb and traditionally Japanese. The onsen was very relaxing. Staff was friendly and very pampering, even though we couldn't have a conversation. Location is alright, but could have been a bit closer to the metro station. Nevertheless, you can easily reach the main nighttime/restaurant area after 15-20 minutes walking and it seemed quite alright.
Cons: Staff could not speak any English, but was very kind and accomodating, trying to make sure I get everything well by giving me English information they have printed out and laminated for foreign guests. Everything worked well, but it would have been great to communicate more! The onsen working times could have probably been a bit longer, but it was alright.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Loved the onsen! And helpful staff providing an extra underlay for the futon.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Big room, comfortable bed, massage service, fast elevators
Cons: Bath was a bit plain, but at least there was a bath
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was larger that usual and the bathroom too. The hotel has a spa in the top floor with a hot bath. Staff are very nice and professional, the croissants in the morning are very good. French quality.
Cons: The breakfast was a little repetitive for six days, most of the dishes didn’t change and only two or three of them alternate between two choices. The cupboard is a small as any other Japanese hotel. Need to ask for more hangers of course.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I had to leave another hotel due to the sad state of it, and so I was thrilled with how beautiful and comfortable the Mitsui Gardens Hotel was. And it has an Onsen bath on the top floor, so I was very happy with that!
Cons: I was only there for one very short night, so I couldn’t really find any faults.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location within walking distance from the train. The rooms were updated. What’s there not to like.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location and security
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location - only a few minutes walk from Sendai Station, able to access via the upper level walkways (entering directly onto Floor 2 of the hotel) without needing to traverse stairs or escalators from the station. Perfect for anyone planning to stay mostly station-central, or make several trips out from the station to other nearby areas. The in-hotel onsen was fantastic. Loved it. Adds an extra level of class to any hotel, but mostly I just love being able to stretch out and soak and not have to worry about the water getting cold like in my own bathroom tub. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: Access to hotel via the upper level walkways can be a little confusing, due to some buildings only having access on one side, not all the way around. Just FYI for potential guests. (Stick to west side of AER building and cross the bridge after it to access hotel's 2nd floor and reception - no need to go down to street level).
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good location nice breakfast
Cons: Onsen open to late (1900) should be 1600-2400
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a great stay here. Great location. Walking distance to shopping and major train / bus station. I became unwell during my stay and the staff went out of their way to help me see an English speaking doctor. Highly recommend:)
