There are quite a few adults-only hotels in Okinawa that would suit couples or singles travelling alone. You could try Hotel Stork, for example, with its roughly 15min walk to the museum district and 11min walk to Omoromachi Station. It’s near the nightlife area and would be a good couples destination. Hotel Sunset American is another adults-only location but this time near the sea. It’s around 3 km from the American Village and Sunset Beach.

Yes, there are a number of aparthotels and individual apartments for rent by tourists in Okinawa. You could try the quaintly named “Spacious 2LDK ♪ Toro House [Forest] ♪”. It’s a two-bedroom apartment designed with a forest theme and near the Koza Sports Park. Alternatively, you could try the “Ginowan-shi Foreigner House on a Hill”. This is an example of the box-shaped, small houses that were built for American service staff during the 1960s. Some of them are now available for rent and are an interesting way to learn about the history of the island.
