7.5 Good
Pros: Large room.
Cons: Lack of activities at the Ryokan. Men Onsen is not so nice. Water is too hot and soapy.
6.3 Good
Pros: Onsen pretty good even through it’s not new. Breakfast pretty nice that comes with a traditional Japanese set with a mini hot pot (radish soup) and basic American buffet for western food. We stayed on top level 5. We took a very big Japanese room that can accommodate 6 paxs. View is great since it’s winter time, everywhere covered with snow.
Cons: Location not convenient especially without much restaurants available. Due to location, we didn’t go for a snow festival that we originally planned to. Wifi really lousy, only at the lobby or onsen area are ok. Need to bring room’s towels to onsen area. Price is also on the high end.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Spacious clean room, and great onsen which is really enjoyable. I like this location too for my pilgrimage because it is only 2 km from Seitai Hoshikai which houses the chapel where a wooden statue of the Virgin Mary wept many times for several years in the 70's. The hotel offers a great breakfast with large selection of food.
Cons: Only size M and L of the Japanese robe are provided in the room. I hope it provides small size as well because it is clumsy for a small person to wear overly long robe.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Decent size of room, individual bathroom inclusive which is good for people are reluctant to use public onsen. Great various of breakfast, especially the salad is so fresh.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It was a very authentic ryokan and onsen. The restaurant was great and the food amazing
Cons: It was a 2000 Yen trip by taxi from station and there was no casual dining on the premises

Route-Inn Grantia Akita Spa Resort - Akita - Building
7
7.8 Good (1,188 reviews)
S$ 132+
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Route-Inn Grantia Akita Spa Resort in Akita, you'll be within a 15-minute walk of Akarenga Folklore Museum and Area Nakaichi. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
7.9 Good
Pros: The onsen (spa) on the ground floor is sensational. Indoors there are 3 hot pools of varying type, 2 sauna rooms and an ice bath. There is also an outside portion w/2 baths.
Cons: Fyi, there is quite a crowd of guests filing in around 17:00. The attraction is obviously the onsen. If you're a hotel guest, best to figure out the best hours in which to beat the crowd.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This hotel was a great find for our stay in Akita. It's clean and comfortable. The onsen is great and exceeded my expectations. I loved the no shoes policy especially as we were traveling with a baby. Great location.
Cons: The room was spacious but had too much furniture.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We had a very nice, large twin room with a separate bathroom/make-up area. LOTS of space to move around it!! The onsen area is great - very large and relaxing. There is a barber shop on location, which was taken advantage of. The haircut was good and the barber was really nice and understanding. We made an appointment, but our dinner in the Kawabata Restaurant area ran overtime. He was SO kind to reschedule! The breakfast buffet is great. There is an izakaya restaurant in the facility that we have eaten at before and would do so again - next time! This hotel is definitely a DO AGAIN!!
9.7 Excellent
Pros: We planned to use Akita as our base for day trips to the historic samurai village of Hakunodate and to Lake Tazawa, but the Route-Inn Grantia turned out to be a destination of its own. The staff was friendly (though I was glad to be able to speak Japanese), the service impeccable, and our room small but meticulously clean and well appointed (toiletries and tea provided; towels and jinbei for the onsen changed daily). Our floor featured a coin laundry and a vending machine with cup noodles. A Japanese breakfast buffet with a range of options is available for purchase for 850 yen/day, even if you don't include it in your reservation. I also highly recommend the restaurant on the premises, which serves a delicious rendition of the Akita specialty kiritanpo. Make sure to save time for the onsen! There are a variety of baths of different temperatures, both indoors and out.
Cons: There aren't many dining options around the hotel; you may want to either eat at the hotel restaurant or closer to Akita Station.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Public bath was great. Morning shuttle bus to the train station is perfect for morning check outs.
Cons: Room was a bit small for the price.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Helpful staff, spacious room, great breakfast and awesome onsen - very spacious and very quiet when I was there in the evening.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very good natural onsen

5.4 Okay
Pros: Location OK. Breafast reasonable spread
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was cozy with great lighting; the bed was big and comfortable; laundry facilities and ice provided on floor 3; free to take as much coffee as you wanted (though I did find it cheeky and amusing when Housekeeping removed some from my room, leaving me with the standard 2 sachets!); location quite central, about 10 minutes from Senshu Park and 20 from the train station...
Cons: I wish there had been more than 2 clothes hangers in the room; the one and only English language TV channel froze on day 3; I wish the hotel had the eco-friendly option of asking guests if they needed complete housekeeping service (not necessary to change bed linen - and certainly the bath robe - and even towels every day...), also maybe providing recycling bins on each floor so guests can dispose of their rubbish appropriately...
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and calm.
Cons: If close to Akita station more is very good

Pros: Smooth check-in and check-out! Loved the spacious room! The toilet is perfected with bathtub where I soaked in after a roughly 3 hours Shinkansen-ride from Tokyo and there's a bidet, perfect for those who loved to be extra clean and fresh! The distance is very near to the Akita station, just within walking distance and you won't have to suffer dragging your luggage too far and you don't even have to grab a bus or taxi! There's a plenty of nearby cafes, convenient stores, malls and there are karaoke stores nearby. There's even a delicious cafe that sells very delicious hot zenzai served with grilled mochi!! I highly recommend this hotel!
Cons: Nothing at all!
