Staff at check in desk was great. Room looked good and was clean. Location good. Price reasonable for Andorra
Air conditioning didn't work and room was hot and stuffy. Bed was uncomfortable. Inadequate pillows. Only one English channel on TV. Dinner at the Gran Buffet was chaotic....enormous and very noisy room at the Novatell evidently very popular at late dinner (8PM) with large families. Many screaming babies. Food was only OK for 25 euros. In AM there was no coffee available in room or lobby....had to wait until 8AM and then choose either 8 or 16 euro breakfast. Parking was offered again across the way at Novatell for 22 euros when city lot right next to hotel was 14.90 for 24 hours. Desk didn't know about the closeby lot but we found it easily. Shower curtain blows in and attached itself to you as you shower. YUCH! Supplies in the way of soap, shampoo, TP etc very minimal.

Lovely hotel, good sized rooms and bathrooms. Very clean and excellent breakfast. Great location for the centre of Ypres.

Everything about this place was perfect. Breakfast was exceedingly good, and the pool, sauna and mini golf were great entertainment.

Hotel Pool
Check in very poor and laborious. Took half an hour, 20mins waiting and 10 mins checking in. After 10 hours travelling not what you need. One receptionist just played with folders and ignored us and she checked us out so I am sure she could have checked us in. Compared to 10 second checkin at next booking.com hotel where they essentially just handed us room cards. Perhaps partly Andorran policy with photocopying passports etc. So much one use plastic in room. Mercure could perhaps review their processes.
