Pros: Apart from the atmosphere this small but authentic hotel (part of UNESCO world Heritage site "Bryggen") breathes out, it's location is perfect to discover the city and access major sites of interest or transportation options in Bergen. Furthermore, the interior is designed with utmost eye for detail and luxuriuous finishing. The continental breakfast buffet offered a very nice choice of fresh food and tasteful bread, set in a rather romantic dining hall. We were even happy to enjoy freshly prepared eggs daily, even at different times. So as opposed to other critiques I've read about this on this site before booking this hotel, this even made our stay better. We also found the staff to be very polite and helpful with the few requests we had.

Pros: It is certainly adequate and I would stay here again. The rooms are very small-even on European Standards. I am on business by myself so I managed but the room I was in would be a bit small if traveling with my spouse. The wireless internet connection was good and there are several restaurants within walking distance if one does not want to eat in the Hotel Restaurant because it is quite expensive....especially in light of the currently weak dollar exchange rate. I would give it a fairly solid 3 star rating. Breakfast area is very inadequate in size to handle the number of guests when the hotel is near full. Have to stand in line for 10-15 minutes just to get to the buffet counter. Other than that hotel adequate for short stay
