Pros: Nice to see the old lady finally has someone to care for her. I watched this hotel decline and stopped booking but I will be back after the latest visit.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had an over night stay in a twin bedded room which had a super large bath room and shower cubicle. Our evening meal was really nice and good value. friendly and efficient staff looked after us very well. A great breakfast the following morning after a good nights sleep in comfortable beds.
Cons: Staying another night.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The evening meal and breakfast were excellent together with the location and hotel grounds
Cons: The rooms and hotel in general needed refreshing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room was a very good size, with a lovely big and comfortable bed. The receptionist who checked us in was very friendly and welcoming. The reception area and rooms were lovely - very relaxing to sit in. The cooked breakfast was good, but the rest of the choice was quite limited compared to other hotels within this price range.
Cons: The bath was quite narrow and the shower was not the best - in terms of pressure. For the cost of the room, and the look of the hotel, you would expect a nicer bathroom. The menu for dinner was also quite limited when staying for more than one night.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We had a very nice 3 night stay here. Rooms are a good size, beds are nice and comfortable. Breakfast was nice and the staff very friendly. The only issue we had was that the bath with shower over the bath was very small. Everything else was good and we met Anton, the owner and he explained that the hotel is undergoing major renovation (including the room we stayed in) so I’m sure it will be even better when we hope to visit again next year.
Cons: Nothing worth mentioning
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about our stay was amazing and the staff were exceptional. Really looked after us for our graduation party!!! Breakfast was good too!
Cons: Nothing everything was great!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Really homely and food was terrific
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Its a beautiful old manor house with the most loveliest of gardens. The drawing and dinning rooms are beautifully decorated. We were warmly welcomed and the service was outstanding. Even though the positioning of our room was the furtherest away it was lovely with two easy chairs and a comfortable big bed, fresh clean bedding too. We had dinner and breakfast here and it was really tasty and delicious.
Cons: It was rather dusty and a good clean would make a huge difference. Our room was the furtherest away from the main drawing and dinning rooms and would have liked to been able to enjoy these spaces, it was just easier to stay in our room. Our room was comfortable with clean bedding and good pillows, couldn't utilise the wardrobe as it housed a fold up bed. It was a quiet room. The bathroom unfortunately was not clean, black mould and lime scale and could really do with a real scrub down. Two doors down from our room they were renovating a room and the paint fumes were quite strong when walking down the passage to our room.

Pros: Location, food & hospitality superb!

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Good hotel, attentive staff, well priced
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The first room I was given was a ground floor room. The room smelled of damp dogs. I spoke to the receptionist and she apologised and gave me a room on the upper floor. This room was fine, clean and comfortable. My colleague arrived late and the staff arranged for some hot food to be available for when he arrived, which was good of them. At breakfast my colleague mentioned that his room also had a very stale smell to it. I would definitely stay here again but would ask for a room which is not on the ground floor.
7.7 Good
Pros: The rooms are very spacious, and having a choice of bath and shower was important to us, good value for money, breakfast very good plenty of choice and service at breakfast excellent.
Cons: confusion wether to wait at a table and wait for service or to order at the bar, felt a little bit invisible on the first evening, staff appeared to not want to serve the us, and when we asked where do we order (as a hint that we where ready to order) they told my partner it was up to him where he ordered and then quickly walked away. Wether this was due to them being busy I am not sure, however second evening was better but I did notice they where not as busy on the second evening. Breakfast staff could not have been more attentive without being overbearing they were excellent.

7.0 Good
Pros: close to amenities informative staff good parking good selection of food and drink at breakfast
Cons: good food at breakfast, strange decor in room and not the cleanest especially bathroom and wardrobe. it was also noisy with road traffic. It was a shame because a lovely bulding. Good Parking ideal location.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: I had to book a hotel at very short notice due to a booking error somewhere else. This was the closest in my expenses budget but still £80.
Cons: The door to the room didn't fit properly therefor every time the external door to the lodge opened or the firedoor in the corridor opened, the door to my room rattled -all night long! The mattresses on both beds had seen better days, they felt very springy in a bad way. The bathroom light was on a movement sensor. It came on at 5 am for no apparent reason and as the door was open, it woke me up. While I was in the shower this morning, the bathroom light went off! The WiFi didn't work this morning. The desk in the room had no chair. I was told on arrival they they were serving food in the room at the end of the corridor which I assumed was the bar until they added that they do not serve alcohol on the premises. My room looked shabby. The armchairs were almost threadbare and the walls needed a lick of paint. The window in my room was so close to the main road that I could almost serve coffee to motorists at the traffic lights as one would in a drive-through.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Overall I was very impressed. I only needed an inexpensive room for 1 night, but as there was a fault with the extractor fan I asked to move rooms and as it was not that busy I got upgraded to a suite. The staff, especially the night receptionist, were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. I had dinner in the lounge and the double quarter pounder with chips was delicious!
Cons: The only thing I would mention is that the curtains are very thin and a lot of the rooms overlook the roof over reception which has glass domes so the lights which are on in reception all night shine through the windows. It's not that bad, but may be annoying if you prefer to sleep in complete darkness. I suggest the hotel invest in blackout curtains.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about my stay. The Catherine Suite was an excellent choice.
7.1 Good
Pros: The location was perfect and the private car park so convenient for a town centre hotel.
Cons: The hotel felt it had seen better days, there is no bar or food available other than a very lack lustre breakfast but, it’s in the middle of town
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Always a good time at this hotel

Cons: The room was not clean
4.0 Okay
Pros: Staff were absolutely lovely, breakfast was amazing. loved the knights in shining armor and the location was great. Breakfast Chef was very welcoming and his food was lovely. Room was spacious and bathroom. Good Bath, clean and good clean bedding on nice bed.
Cons: Staff not very knowledgeable. Me and my colleagues all have pub and we were in Burton on a Punch management course. One night we came to my hotel for a drink - there was no draught beer on because noone knew how to change a barrel!!! One of my friends went down and shown them and changed the barrels. This is basics. Room wasn't the cleanest - had to wipe drawers down before putting my clothes in it. There was dust everywhere. side of bed wasn't very clean. I was woken up every morning by what sounded like a million pigeons in my room - obviously in the loft space above this room (21) this can be very dangerous due to the droppings if this is the case.`
5.8 Okay
Pros: The bed was comfortable, the room was small but warm. The room was dated , certainly needs some basic plumbing repairs- taps difficult to switch on and off, shower didn’t drain well. Mirror above sink very low. staff friendly. Didn’t have breakfast
Cons: See above
5.4 Okay
Pros: This property is old, with lots of history..
Cons: Sash windows and ill fitting doors, poor heating in Room and the Mattress on the bed was what I would have expected in a monastery.. The bathroom in my room was not fitted out very well.. my shoulders were wedged between the shower and the wall to sit on the toilet..

Pros: Breakfast was great. Made to order.
Cons: Very tight entrance to parking area.

Cons: The bathroom smelt very bad. The shower was blocked and was impossible to regulate. It stayed boiling hot. I scalded my hand.
