Pros: Everything was so perfect! Amazing location, so quiet and peaceful. Beautiful surroundings. Very comfortable rooms, beautifully decorated and super friendly staff. Great breakfast with handmade products. They have thought of every little detail to make your stay amazing. We were so happy we extended our stay.
Cons: It's a bit far from Cafayate, so if you want to be close to the centre, don't stay here
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The stay at la vaca tranquila was just so relaxing! Located about 30 min car ride from Cafayate, everything was so calm. Unfortunately we stayed for only one night, however, it was not a problem at all to spend some time after checkout in the common area. Breakfast with cheese, yoghurt etc. directly from the farm was delicious. This really is a perfect location for some days of relaxing!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the owners threats everybody like an individual. They know when to leave you alone and when to give information. you have a kitchen with fridge, water kettle, salt, pepper....at your service. Rooms are nicely decorated. good eye for detail. important: it is very quiet. nice breakfast included with real coffee
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is place is an absolute delight. We stayed one night but wish we would have stayed longer. The surroundings are beautiful and there is a really peaceful feel to it. The pool is great and the breakfast is freshly made and delicious. The owners are also lovely people and they make their own beer. Book now!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Goats and farm animals Fun typical breakfast
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The Vaca Tranquila is a real paradise! Great comfort, beautiful and big rooms, super helpful staff, peaceful environment and delicious breakfast (especially the home-made yogurt!). The horse-back riding tour was really nice too.
Cons: A little bit far from Cafayate when we don't have a car, but it is still very easy to find a cab and to share one, so it is not a big inconvenient.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: San Carlos and La Vaca Tranquila are an absolute refuge of peace, tranquility, and authenticity on the edges of slightly dumpy Cafayate. The property owners live on site, which means the maintenance and feel of the entire site is top notch. The surrounding areas make you feel like you're on a working farm, and the town of San Carlos is possibly the most authentic and charming town we came across in our long journey across the Northwest of Argentina. Breakfast excellent, and the pool a real treat.
Cons: San Carlos lacks one thing: a passable restaurant. If someone opened a good restaurant in San Carlos, and you didn't have to take the unpredictable Ruta 40 to Cafayate for dinner every night, this place would be a dream. Either self-cater if you stay here (there are facilities to do so) or make sure you have a designated driver for the 30-min trip back. Would be great if the property could arrange a shared taxi service to and from the property at dinnertime (say, leaving at 8:30pm, returning at 11pm) that guests could join.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Calme lovely countryside walks Friendly & helpful
10.0 Excellent
Pros: La vaca tranquila is an amazing farmhouse located in a gorgeous valley with breathtaking mountains views. The room we stayed at was very big with a comfy bed and a beautiful bathroom with a bathtub. Esteban made our stay even more special thanks to his kindness, warm hospitality and his passion for the place. He even gave us a private tour of the in-house brewery ! Try their beers out, they are very tasty and there is a story behind each of them ;) In the morning, we woke up to beautiful and peaceful views along with a delicious homemade breakfast ! We highly recommend this place to make your stay around Cafayate even more special. Thanks again Esteban for your amazing hospitality !
Cons: That we only stayed one night :)

Pros: This is a great 'middle' option between the up and coming high end resorts and the hostels in town. Rooms are big and spacious, service is friendly, grounds are beautiful.
Cons: Would be great to have non bread or sweet breakfast option - maybe just some hard-boiled eggs. And the rooms need a little TLC to deal with moldy smell. But overall, terrific choice!

Pros: Our room was on the ground floor directly on the street with a separate entrance. Everything was clean and the shower nice and hot. The small breakfast was very relaxed and varied. We even got a 2 bedroom apartment, even though we thought all beds were in one room.
Cons: The wifi was unfortunately kind of slow.

Pros: Nice patio, towels and soap, hot water, good location next to the main square.

7.9 Good
Pros: The room where spacious and well designed, the personal was adorable and effective and the site is wonderful.
Cons: I booked 3 activities while staying at Grace and it was a disaster. The first activity was a blind wine tasting, we arrived at the winery which was more a house where the underground was set up with some plastic vats and wine was made artisanal there. Although the hosts were wonderful and the wine tasting was nice the price : 60 US$ PER PERSON was definitely NOT worth the wines and activity. You should much rather do some wine tasting on your own and pay 1/10 of the price. The wine tasting was OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive for the prestations and the winery in question. The second activity was a horse ride which was wonderful but the hotel forgot? To tell us that we had to pay by cash there and since we didn’t have any cash, the hotel charged us a good extra while checking out. The third activity was the cooking class which they forgot about. Although I have to say that they apologized wonderfully offering us a bottle of wine and some empanadas, thanks! I would also add that the restaurant is overpriced for the prestation, you’ll find some much nicer food and wine for the same value in the center. To conclude, i recommend grace for their nice rooms, services and personal but would not recommend taking your activities with them(overpriced and poorly organized).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a wonderful time at Grace Cafayate. The hotel is 5 minutes (by car) out of town in the quietness of the vineyards. We were upgraded to the Superior Villa which was huge and made our staying extra special. There was a private jacuzzi in the garden, bbq and large rooms. Nice breakfast. Restaurant is good value for money for lunch/dinner. We could have not asked for better treat.
Cons: Since the hotel it’s in the vineyards it would be nice for the guests to have a tour and introduction to what is produced in loco. This is a suggestion for the future, but overall we do highly recommend the hotel
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view is fantastic and the staff very kind and helpful. The bathroom has a huge walk-in shower and a huge bathtub, both with an incredible view, and is very modern.
Cons: The terrace area behind the pool was being renovated so it was not usable.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Facilities are great, location is unbelievable.
Cons: Check in was a little unorganized, even though we had provided all the information ahead of time.

7.1 Good
Pros: Parking on site, helpfull staff and a spacious room.
Cons: You remember that smell when you pick up clothes of the ground from last nights campfire? Somehow our room had that penetrating smell. Also breakfast was not varied.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Rooms are spacious and very clean. There is a swimming pool which was not very clean the day we arrived but after asking, they cleaned it. Good wifi and airco in the rooms. Breakfast is oke but nothing special.
Cons: Staff does not really speak English and did not give a very warm welcome or tips.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great room, it was clean and spacious with fans and airconditioning. Great location, close to main square but on a quiet street. They provided a gluten free option for breakfast.
Cons: Nothing, this place was great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The English-speaking receptionist. Located just one block away from the central square Plaza de Armas. A very good quality to price ratio. Totally recommended!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location. About half a block from two bodegas & nary a block from Bad Brothers. Less than two blocks from the town plaza. Comfortable room with one twin and one full size bed. AC, ceiling fan, small fridge, small safe. Ask for extra wine glasses at the desk when checking in. Decent wifi but not good for streaming. Ask for the PSK at check in too.
Cons: Secure parking was full, parked on the street with no problems. Breakfast is mostly refined carbs. Rooms are secured with a brass skeleton style key. Room safe is a $30 Harbor Freight model. Read up on how to set a PIN. Not much in the way of chairs in the rooms.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location is very close to the main square, but that's pretty much the only pro. Luckily it was cheap.
Cons: The hotel is in really bad shape, there is no elevator to the upper floor, the room was very worn and dated. Cleanliness was questionable... Avoid! Breakfast was rather poor, but that's quite in line with what you would expect in sych a basic hotel
9.0 Excellent
Pros: There’s a fridge and hairdryer in room.
Cons: Something hot at breakfast would have been nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very nice hotel in Cafayate downtown, really close from a few bodegas and the main square. A big thank you to the staff who reached us at a foreign number a couple hours after the checkout to tell I'd left my passport in the room (fortunately, we were at a winery nearby, so came back quickly!)
Cons: Nothing

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Love love this property ...poor thing we were the only guest yet they looked after us so well! We ordered dinner before we went out wine tasting! Dinner was superb whole leg of land for 2 pax. Beautiful garden even a spa in our room! Breakfast was superb fresh squeezed orange juice and a full amazing breakfast just for the 2 of us! A must stay even tho it’s 18 km from town! Free wine tasting there and we also bought some 2014 Malbec a very good year!
Cons: Nil
10.0 Excellent
Pros: There was nothing not to like.
3.8 Mediocre
Cons: Casa de la Bodega was a very quiet accomodation. The garden was cultivated well, the wineyard was not grown for a large part, the pool was not clean as a dog constantly drank from it and a frog as well as much dirt was in it. We were the only guests in the restaurant, however the personnel was not very eager to help us and it took the cook very long to serve the food. The hotel was covered with flies as well, also in the dining room. We expected a luxury stay, but decided to leave earlier to a real luxury stay...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved everything about our stay- especially the absolute tranquility. The lady who checked us in and seemed to do everything else too (got our room ready and served us dinner) was so lovely even though I only got by with a smattering of spanish. The views were incredible and I wished we could have stayed longer! Great food and good wine. The room (ensuite private double with a balcony) was very spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast better than most we’d had during the past two months of travelling but expected for the price. Not appropriate for anyone wanting to stay in the heart of Cafayate though and it’s about a 20 minute drive away from town.
Cons: Got quite lost trying to find it. Needs to be marked better on a map but was worth it once we found it!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful scenery, free wine tasting, super clean rooms, friendly staff, and good dinner!
6.7 Good
Pros: The room was nice, bed comfortable, bathroom with bath, view outside pretty.
Cons: We were actually really disappointed by this 4-star hotel. The vineyard doesn’t seem to be alive anymore. The staff didn’t put any effort in making us feel welcome and at home or something. Since it’s a bodega and there are pictures of the wine cellar and everything, we expected more of this part but no information, no tour, no noting. The beautiful living room was dark and no fire every day. The dining area empty and quiet and dirty (wine) spots in the table sheets. We turned on some romantic music on our phone ourselves during dinner otherwise it was super quiet. The place just felt dead and empty. Maybe there were just a few guests and low season had started, you should still put an effort in the guests you have. The breakfast also not so good and the swimming pool outside very dirty. At last the shower in our room not comfortable since it was inside a bath and because it was at the slanted side, we had to lean backwards to get our head under so we couldn’t stand straight. We would definitely not recommend this place!

Pros: Excellent location just off the main plaza in Cafayate. The room was warm and comfortable and breakfast was generous. When we checked in, Carlos gave us an incredibly thorough guide to the area and helped us to plan our visits to wineries. He also arranged an excellent tour of the Quebrada de las Conchas with our guide Guillermo, which was a highlight of our trip. And our dinner at El Hornito, also recommended, was delicious. Highly recommended for a local's insight into Cafayate.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a great 'middle' option between the up and coming high end resorts and the hostels in town. Rooms are big and spacious, service is friendly, grounds are beautiful.
Cons: Would be great to have non bread or sweet breakfast option - maybe just some hard-boiled eggs. And the rooms need a little TLC to deal with moldy smell. But overall, terrific choice!

Pros: Great brothers who run the place - Amazing location and we really liked the home made cakes and jams - a really personal touch.

Pros: The hotel is very well situated, few blocks from the square and from many bodegas. It was really clean, the breakfast really good (yummy homemade jam by the mother), beautiful garden where we could relax and the pool was a big plus on the hot days we had. The owner was so nice and helpful, we really recommand this place!
Cons: Nothing, everthing was as described and even better!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Outstanding place and architecture. Very well decorated. Peaceful and beautiful gardens and patios.
Cons: Prices in the restaurant are higher than in the village and the food is average
4.0 Okay
Cons: Hotel was a diasappointment. Badly in need of a serious renovation. Not worth the 150 euro per night, at all. Room was smelly, rugs were sordid, walls were scratched. Bed was horrible soft. Bathroom, too old. And so the room was very uninviting. Service in restaurant was very nice, but that could not mend our distaste. When you see us waiting to pick up our key, get up and help us, that´s your job.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The structure and the landscape are amazing. The restaurant also has very good food.
Cons: the shower was old could be replaced by something more modern

9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean and the towels were changed daily. The wifi was good. The breakfast included all options, salty, sweets, cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt and eggs at request. The parking is actually a field next to the hotel with a gate securing every night. Nevertheless, it was open-air so the vehicles were exposed to weather conditions. The location of the hotel is very close to the main square with many restaurants, cafes, cervecerias and a couple of travel agencies.
Cons: The building looks dated especially from the pool's side but you cannot realise that in the hotel. The interior was very well maintained. My room was a double-bed room and it was adequate for me being alone but it was rather small for 2 persons with their luggage. There was a window facing a wall so, not a lot of natural light inside. The A/C didn't respond to some commands of the telecontrol such as temperature and fan speed and it was quite noisy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to the center. Private parking for motorcycles. Great rooms
8.3 Excellent
Pros: good location for wine tasting, rooms have a good size
Cons: Pool not clean, old shower (almost no water pressure), old elevator, loud breakfast room
7.9 Good
Pros: Great location. Right in the middle of the city. Spacious rooms. Comfortable bed. Big bathroom
Cons: Many of the rooms seem to face an inside patio rather than the outside which means the rooms are rather dark and mellow. Our A/C wasn’t able to cook the room satisfactorily.
8.0 Excellent

Cons: The rooms with street view are extremely noisy. The pool is not heated at all.
4.0 Okay
