Top Tips for Hiring a Van in Copenhagen

  • When visiting the Denmark capital, you and your family or group of friends will be in for a fantastic holiday. Let memory-making and bonding happen together as a group with Copenhagen people carrier hire. Explore some of the incredible local sites such as the historic city centre, the Amalienborg Palace, Christiansborg Palace, the Renaissance-era Rosenborg Castle and other beautiful buildings. With canals running through the city, amazing cuisine and of course, the home of the legendary children’s author, Hans C. Andersen, Copenhagen is literally the city of fairy tales. Lush greenery, ancient Medieval foundations and the buzzing nightlife of Frederiksberg offer something for everyone in Copenhagen.
  • When looking for the ideal location to find Copenhagen people carrier hire, there is no better spot than the Kastrup Airport. Based just 15 minutes from the city centre, the airport is the ideal location to collect your people carrier whether entering the city by plane, train or bus. Pre-book your people carrier through KAYAK and collect as you land, driving straight off the lot and into the city centre. You will find agencies such as SIXT, keddy, Budget, Avis and Europcar waiting to assist.
  • Driving Copenhagen people carrier hire will be a pleasant experience as the city has an excellent road infrastructure, networked by modern motorways. Danish drivers are polite and well-mannered and as long as you stick to the basic rules of the road, you should find people carrier hire to be a hassle-free way to see the city. Keep drinking and driving to the maximum of a 0.05% blood alcohol limit and remain buckled up at all times. Horns need to be low-toned and only used to avoid accidents. Headlights need to be on all day, on all roads, and the speed limits should be observed always. In the city, you can drive 24 mph (40 km/h) with roads outside the city at 80 mph (130 km/h). When you take your people carrier out on the motorway you can push it further to 68 mph (110 km/h).
  • Copenhagen, like most cities, will experience rush hour congestion, but for the most part, it is fairly tolerable. A GPS system hired from your car hire agency will ensure you get congestion alerts to avoid time on the road. The city is quite a compact metropolis and parking on the outskirts while you go in on foot is usually a better idea. Fuel prices are known for being high and there are tolls on many of the motorways. Winter brings snow, which shouldn’t present too much of an issue until it melts and generates black ice which is often very slippery. Drive slowly and meticulously and you will enjoy your driving in Copenhagen and the surrounds.
  • 25% of our users found a people carrier hire in Copenhagen for S$ 121 or less
  • Book your people carrier hire in Copenhagen at least 1 day before your trip in order to get a below-average price
  • March is typically the cheapest month to hire a van in Copenhagen, with prices around S$ 81 per day. The most expensive month is July, with average prices of S$ 120 per day.

I never took the car because the instructions were not clear about having to have one debit card and one credit card. I don’t own a credit card. So I wasted my time travelling by train from Køge and never picked up the car. I paid for the car and I’m very disappointed that all of this happened . No car and no money back 😞

Was given a diesel car which we don’t want. It was filthy and we had to ask them to wash it before leaving. The price was more than what Experian quoted. It took nearly an hour to find where to return the rental car in Hamburg. They never answered their phones. Will not do business with this firm in the future.

Service was great but the insurance I bought through Kayak when I checked out wasn’t reflected there at the center. As such, I bought it twice which wasn’t a great experience. Why wouldn’t they see the collision and damage insurance I added when I checked out?

Value 5/5 Staff 5/5 Vehicle 1/5 The EV we rented was terrible. I see why it was so cheap to rent. The battery range was so inaccurate and terribly low. Maybe good for strictly city driving but we couldn’t even take a 2 hour road trip without having to make sure there was a charging station around because the battery was so bad. Really wouldn’t recommend the DS 3 Etense without a disclaimer.

Pro: The price was low and the people were great. Con: they need a much clearer set of directions to find the car pickup location in the nearby parking garage. I used the wrong door, and lost nearly an hour trying find my car. It drove even the employees crazy, since it wasnt where it should have been parked. This is temporary.

The Copenhagen team was very helpful and responsive when I called about changing my drop off. Meanwhile, no one picked up the phone in the Oslo office and I tried them multiple times. It was disappointing to learn my total price would have quadrupled if I changed my drop off location. Ultimately we returned the car to the airport drop off and that went smoothly.

We bought full insurance coverage on the car. When we returned it, they found a small scratch on the bumper. We have received multiple emails from them to fill out an insurance form, threatening to cancel our coverage if we didn't return it. So we returned it. But they have sent it again. Unpleasant. Otherwise the rental was ok.

We did not pick up the car. There was a problem with the license because it was in greek and not international. Fair enough but we have sent the license (full copy) to Hertz two weeks before the rental and they reported no problem. At the rental deskWe requested then for the second driver who holds an international license to be the main driver. The reply was no because the car was rent through booking.com and not directly through Hertz. They offered the alternative to rent the car directly through Hertz at a cost of 920 euro (triple the cost of the boking.com / kayak rental). We refused. We had a penalty from booking.com for not hiring the car. In simple words Our holiday was totally ruined. Never again

I preordered a 5 series BMW and received a 3 series instead with the service person nonchalantly telling me that they are in the same category. If that is really the case, that is laughable! Also, when acalculating eveything together my 280$ order summary miraculously turned into an almost 1,000$ bill after he misquoted me on the insurance and wanted to cheekily add an extra day because I arrived 30 minutes early for pick up. Car was also not in a clean condition as I would expect it.

Little information provided by staff on electric vehicle charging stations, and only after asking. Turns out these stations are relatively few in the countryside, owned by different companies with different instructions for charging and payment. With these instructions often not available in English. Some stations are super slow, haver relatively few machines or are inoperable, as noted by their google ratings once sought. Will never rent an electric vehicle by Avis/Budget, especially in a foreign country.
