Pros: Everything was fine except that I have stayed at the property many times since it first opened and I feel that the rooms – ours, at least, – are looking tired and a bit grubby (the carpet, anyway). I would not rate it as one of the top 3-5 hotels in Hong Kong at the moment, despite its reputation.

Pros: A big “Thank You” to Guest Relations Officer Ms. Mary and the staff of the Island Shangri-La for arranging the exceptional experience that we enjoyed over the last couple of days. A member of our party was celebrating her birthday and all of us were absolutely delighted by the wonderful gesture of a surprise champagne celebration, followed by framed pictures of the toast. Pure class. This was my second stay at the Island Shangri-La and both times I have been rewarded with nothing but the most gracious hospitality by everyone who assisted from check in to check out. We appreciated every little detail which the staff ensured was perfect, and we look forward to returning. The harbour view rooms offer what could be considered one of the most stunning panoramas one can enjoy from a luxury property anywhere in the world. And of course the “Great Motherland of China” painting is the stuff of legend. Just that is worth coming for. 11 out of 10.

Pros: Comfy spacious rooms with stunning harbour views. Conveniently located next to Pacific place shopping mall. Staff were very helpful and accommodating, we travelled with our newborn baby and they ensured the room was set up ready and we had everything we needed for our stay.

Pros: Fantastic! The staff, particularly the Front Office Manager, was excellent. He helped pick up our luggage at the taxi, checked us in, got us an extra cot bed for our child when we had been told there were none left available when we'd called in advance, walked us to our room and settled us, tried to get an additional 50% discount on our breakfast for our child and called us personally to apologise when he couldn't. The service was professional and impeccable. The ambiance was sumptious and location fantastic for shopping - linked to major shopping centres.

Pros: We treated ourselves to a staycation for a birthday. We stayed in a club room which gave access to the club facilities which were pleasent and relaxed. Kind size bed was super comfortable and we had a great nights sleep. Breakfast was served in the lobby restuarant which provided ample choices of food.

Pros: I loved the service and the staff. This was one of the friendliest, most patient crew I've ever had the pleasure of encountering. Nothing was too small or insignificant for them to help me with. I felt welcomed from the moment I stepped foot on site. Even the two ladies I bumped into cleaning my room were lovely. My room was also very clean. I had a note, fruits, chocolate and two energy bars upon arrival.

Pros: We thought the so called de luxe rooms were a bit ordinary but they had excellent beds and linen, well cleaned and comfortable - but lacking in a bit of character.

You can find any brands you can think on Canton Road next to the hotel. Room is clean and Chinese restaurant is outstanding. Very friendly service
