10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing stay. Very friendly and welcoming hosts and guests, great accommodation, great food.
Cons: Actually Nothing. Keep up the great work you are doing.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We were warmly received by Dirk and Marina. Dirk had good stories and information on the wildlife and the area, Marina made great vegetarian meals. The lodge is on a very large compound of similar facilities and holiday homes (Marloth Park), but these are all far apart. The drive along the Crocodile river is nice. Kudu's and warthogs visited the veranda regularly (the zebra on the picture was absent), as did a lot of beautiful birds. We spent 2 nights before going into Kruger, so we skipped the offered tour, but nevertheless had a great time at Turaco.
Cons: The pool is a bit small and shady (i.e.: cool). There is no panorama: you look into the surroundig bush (which cannot be avoided and is fine, just do not expect great country views). The restaurant fridge is making quite a bit of noise.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Turaco Lodge is a great place to stay where you feel at home, thanks to the hospitality and kindness of Dirk and Marina. You feel that they love to welcome you, know you better, and help you with whatever you need from the bottom of one's heart. We stayed in the lodge three nights during the new year's time. It was an unforgettable and unique memory to spend the new year eve with Dirk and Marina and of course with some visitors from Marloth Park (kudus, bushbabies, wild cats, etc.) The room and facilities are clean, breakfast and dinner are delicious (special thanks to Marina). The location is also so convenient for who is planning to visit Kruger National Park; the gate is in 20-30 min drive. Book a full day game drive is highly recommended. Our safari guide, Tiaan, is really passionate about his work and has extensive knowledge of animals. Thanks to him, we had a great safari trip. Thank you a lot for the fantastic days, as we agreed in the first hours of 2020, we definitely come back (hopefully plus 1)! All the best, Merve & Yigit
Cons: Nothing at all, everything was great.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We were given a warm welcome and lots of great advice about our safari. Although we didn’t stay long we would recommend this lodge if you are planning to go into the Kruger.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I'm sad I only had one night here. It was Christmas eve and they cooked a feast! The people who work here are engaging and have great advice on where to look for birds and animals in Kruger. I didn't have the opportunity to go on a tour with the but I could tell they were knowledgable and enthusiastic. The room was huge and comfortable in all aspects. I would definitely come back if I stay on the south side of Kruger again.
Cons: No complaints!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Turaco is place where you feel at home the moment you park your car. Its located at the Marloth Park, so you will see a lot of animals during your stay. Marina and Dirk are great hosts! Dirk can tell you everything about the nature and the animals that pass by in the ‘garden’ of the lodge. Marina makes the best breakfast and diners. The rooms are from the level of a good hotel but the vibe on the lodge feels like you stay at friends. The lodge is close by (30min drive) the Kruger Park. Turaco organise safari’s with their own 4x4 starting from the lodge. We would definitely recommend this one! So.. Beautiful rooms - great hosts - animals - lovely stay, what else do you need? Swimming pool? Yes also there!
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Dearest Marcel, Dirk, Marina & staff! Unfortunately only 2 nights we had in your amazing Turaco lodge, we wished we could have stayed longer. From arrival to departure, all was perfectly arranged and your hospitality and kindness made us feel home in the middle of the bush. The location in the middle of the Marloth Park, close to the Crocodile River, is only a half n hour drive to the Kruger gate. Definitely book a game drive with Turaco lodge; we did a full day drive with their guide Tian (?) which was an unforgettable experience. Dont forget to bring sunscreen these days, cause we got ‘braaied’ in the jeep during the day! The lodge itself is as described. The room and facilities are very clean and with a max of 15 guests the vibe and service are exceptional and personal. Ask for the braai and dinner at the lodge; superb! Thanks for the amazing days guys, we definitely come back! (And will bring you more chocolate Marina!) Cheers and all the best, Julian and Aggie (Eggie/Eggs) Ps A previous negative review from someone else posted on the Turaco lodge page is about another lodge, NOT Turaco!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The stillness of the place
Cons: I really enjoyed my stay and the facilities
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Marloth Park is definitely worth a trip - you feel (and are!) in the middle of the bush. There is a lot to discover - beyond the big five! Turaco is a great place where you can actually feel the nature that surrounds you. Listening to the sound of the bush while sitting at the campfire and enjoying a nice dinner and listening to stories of Marcel, Dirk, Marina or other guests is one of the most beautiful experience during our trip which we do not want to miss. The lodge is comfortable and cozy, very well organized and they really take care of their guests. Further highlights were the many stories and things we learned about the bush and the people living there, watching elephants from 5m distance (they were just right behind the fence to Krüger), and a wonderful Safari with Tian organized by the lodge. Thank you very much - we will visit you soon again!
7.5 Good
Pros: Really in the middle of the Marloth Park, fantastic hosts and great Safari experiences with the Ranger „Tiaan“

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The lodge is really beautiful, situated in Marloth Park - approx 30 mins by car from one of the entrances to the Kruger. Our room (nr 7) was clean, quiet and equipped with everything we needed. All the rooms overlook a patio where animals come to eat and drink. During our stay, we saw many of them including kudu, zebras, bushbabies and warthogs. The staff at the lodge is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Denis and Gail are fantastic hosts, always ready to help and very pleasant to talk with. We enjoyed driving with Manny (who's a really great guy) and with Patrick, our brilliant safari guide. A special thanks goes to Colin, who not only helped us arrange all the activities before our arrival (game drives, Swaziland tour and fishing trip), but was also really nice and easygoing with during our stay. Last, but not least, I would recommend to stay at the Needles Lodge if not only for the food! The dinners at the lodge, sitting all together at the same table, were truly the cherry on top. Extremely skilled chef Tobi (I hope I spelled it correctly) and the rest of the kitchen staff prepared and served us the most delicious meals! Breakfast at the lodge was impressive too. We left a piece of our hearts at Needles Lodge and we know that we will definitely visit it again in the future! :) Grazie!
Cons: Nothing at all. Everything was great from the beginning to the end!
7.0 Good
Pros: Top location with easy access to Kruger Park. Zebras, Monkeys and Austriches at the lodge in the morning, friendly personnel.
Cons: Disappointment on value for money: limited lunch possibilities, and only one Dinner menu with little flexibility for alternatives together with too small portions (you don't get more if you ask!). Food seems to be counted and extremely calculated. Compared to other Safari Lodges on that level, it can't be 4 stars. Little proactiveness of staff, asking four times for a local map of Marloth park.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The lodge was excellent in every aspect. The staff were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were spotlessly clean, the food was superb and the overall facilities were good.
Cons: Absolutely nothing!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: They convinced us to do a one day guided safari from the lodge. Instead of ne morning walk from the park that we initially wanted to do. Totally worth it. Thanks for that.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was absolutely perfect. Dinner was delicious. Wildlife right in front of the room. Very quiet. Fantastic hosts and great conversations. Perfect if you want a bit of a luxurious base when visiting Kruger.
Cons: I can't fault it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Inked everything. The hosts were great, very friendly and helpful. Wonderful meals
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We loved this place. Everything at Needles Lodge is done with care: the dinners are very tasty, the table was always dressed beautifully, the living area is full of books about the animals. We had an amazing stay. The staff wasvery friendly and cared for us with a lot of smiles.
Cons: The only improvement that can be done is the Wifi connection, that sometimes drops.

Pros: Everything from arrival to departure was of the highest standard, well run and maintained place with the friendliest and helpful staff.
Cons: Not much we didn't like.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a very pleasant experience. Our stay was definitely too short. The staff was excellent and stay late to help us.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Really cozy decor! Very comfy bed. Late check-in was possible with instructions via whatsapp.
Cons: The bathroom is downstairs, so at night or when it rains you have to go outside. A small roof for the passage would have been nice. A bednet with a rectangular frame would be a bit more comfy.

Pros: Everything was pot on. The staff was so friendly they treated us with good manner.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great stay- we were welcomed by zebras kudus n impalas as we entered the street to DuBois. Bernadette was great host. She started to help me even before I flew to South Africa with any queries I had. When we checked in we were a bit late but Bernadette quickly helped us to find a nice restaurant for dinner. The lodge is cozy self contained and every morning we woke up with few surprises - zebras kudus n bucks. The rooms are very clean, spacious , there’s a large area outside with a dining table to enjoy a nice serene time n get surprised by some friendly animals. I really wish to go back soon and recommend Serenity DuBois when visiting Kruger . Thanks to the Bernadette .
Cons: Nothing I can think of . Had a great time
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed our stay at Du Bois Lodge. It was conveniently located about 25 minutes drive from the crocodile bridge gate. The room was very comfortable with a big deck for braaiing. The communal kitchen was well stocked. The owner and staff were very friendly. Just a short walk down the road were benches with a view of the river and Kruger Park where you could watch any animals that were passing by. Great place! Will definitely stay again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Bernadette is a super host and very helpful. The communal kitchen is nice and big and very well equipped. The room was lovely and we loved our private deck and all our little animal friends that popped by to say hello. Great value for money!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A lovely place with every comfort. The kitchen is so ready for anything, with ample space for every guest. Our room was clean and comfortable, great water pressure in the shower and nice firm beds. We made a fire, roasted some meat and also baked some lasagne in the gasoven. There were bats flying at dusk and we had a midnight visit from a Kudu bul. A lovely stay, very close to the Crocodile river where we saw elephants and buffalo.
7.1 Good
Pros: The location is amazing. Close to the stream and at distance from the road
Cons: Lack of maintenance

Cons: Family was squeezed in one room with 4 beds. We expected to have a double room.

Pros: The pictures on the site didn't do enough justice to the accommodation, it was much more than we expected. The host, Lynn was very friendly and accommodating.
Cons: There was nothing much to complain about.

Pros: Location and roaring lions in the evening
Cons: Booked and confirmed Chalets were not available.

Pros: I loved the food. Thumbs up to the chef and team. It was fresh, delicious and you could see made with love. I also loved the facilities for self catering... The pool and splash pools that were always clean. We enjoyed the swims. Staff was very friendly and helpful. True african spirit.
Cons: The villas need to be cleaned up of spider webbs. On the photos advertised i saw tiled roofs. Thus i booked there. When i arrived there we were switched into a thatched roof and i am asthmatic and all... My kids suffer allergies. That is not nice. The pics advertised must depict the actual look or state of the place.

Pros: Beautiful rooms and the diner was great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location of the lodge is so close to Kruger that you can see the animals passing from time to time. It is very nice that you can book safaris with the lodge, which I highly recommend , we had a lovely guide! It is also very nice that they have an honesty bar which you can use through the whole day. Being able to make yourself a coffee during the day is also something we really liked a lot. The staff and especially the owner of the property was so friendly and welcoming that we really enjoyed to spent time together and ask all kinds of questions about Kruger. Dinner was always amazing and it was very nice that all the guests eat together every night. The option to sit by the fire after dark was also very exciting as we got to see animals and situations we normally wouldn’t see.
Cons: It would have been nice to have more sunbeds by the pool , they were only 4 of them and if multiple guests wanted to chill by the pool there wasnt enough space. It would be nice to take more action in producing less waste. As things like milk and sugar were packed in plastic and single containers for example. Also on the safari trip you get a packed lunch from the property, everything was packed in plastic and there is room for improvement for that.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing stay, very clean and cosy. Food is amazing and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Absolutely nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Superb location and hospitality.
Cons: Nothings
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place was a real safari lodge like you dream of. In the morning you have your game drives (well-organized by the staff) and in the afternoon you relax at the pool. If you are lucky enough even some zebras or maybe a giraffe visit you there. We really enjoyed the dinner (3 courses) as it was a good opportunity to exchange experiences with other travelers. Also the owner of the lodge joins the dinner. He even spent time helping us to plan our days in Kruger National Park. It was a lovely stay and we'd hoped we could stay there a little bit longer than 2 nights.
8.3 Excellent
Cons: On the confirmation from booking.com it said a room with garden view and we got a room in the back. On the other hand, because of that we saw a wart hog and some deer passing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: wow, great staff, location and room was fabulous. Would recommend staying here. Animals come right up to the property and Kruger is off in the distance. The food was delicious and the staff attend to your every need. Don't miss this one!!
Cons: Note much!!

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were very clean and staff were friendly. Dinner and breakfast really good. View was amazing. Gentleman at the front desk was very kind.
Cons: Before arriving hotel I sent a message from booking about a tour to Kruger but they did not reply. When we arrived hotel they told us they had no space for tour and Driver was sick and did nothing to arrange it. We called another company to arrange it. They could have at least tried to arrange from another hotel or company. But it is not a Major problem Just wanted to mention.
7.0 Good
Pros: The lodge is very nice. The location is wonderfull. The manager is very good men
Cons: The service, the staff, the room not clean and the breakfast no fresh product
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is great and offers a good view to the Kruger Park. Every evening you can see animals at the fence of the accomodation (like 5 meters away). The food is exceptional! The host (Johann) is very attentive as well as the entire staff. The rooms are very comfortable and everything is clean. When you arrive you will be welcomed by Johann and already cool room and fresh water awaits you. Whenever you want to do something in the Kruger Park, you will get good tipps and Information about animal sightings. The lodge also has a nice pool area which really invites to relax. Wifi is also super fast (fastest Internet we had so far). We have been there for 4 nights and would (or will :) ) book again.
Cons: Rooms are good, but need some Modernization. Despite the overall cleanliness, the fridge did not look good. Dinner offering should also include at least one vegetarian option. The location is good but the last 1000 meters within Marloth Park to the lodge are on a very poor road (however, of course the people from the lodge have no influnece on it. Also the roads to all over lodges look the same).
7.0 Good
Pros: Location good but breakfast very standard
Cons: Rooms not sound proof and you hear the movements from neighbouring rooms

Pros: Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious. Not to far from the Kruger Gates
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff really made us feel at home and went the extra mile to ensure we were happy with everything. Room was clean and Aircon a must in summer. Special thanks to Johan and Harris.

7.9 Good
Pros: Perfect location, directly next to Kruger NP. Saw a couple of wild animals while standing at the balcony. Food was good. Had a small kitchen at the room/ Garden house. Nice Pool area.
Cons: We had a mouse at the room, told the reception, but nothing happend... all in all not super clean.

Cons: Absolutely nothing

Pros: Superb location and hospitality.
