Pros: We had a fantastic time at the Attwater - the rooms were modern and comfortable, the breakfast each day was a gourmet surprise. The location worked well for us - a 5 minute walk into downtown and 15 minutes to the Cliff Walk entrance.

This beautiful resort features New England shingle architecture making it a perfect fit among Newport's abundance of historic Colonial homes and 19th-century mansions. The historic mansions of the Newport Gilded Age are open for tours and offer a unique glimpse into the family homes of the Astors, Vanderbilts, and other prominent families of the era. Guests can also enjoy boating, fishing, sailing the Narragansett Bay, croquet on the lawn, a cookout at the resort's barbecue pavilion, or walk across the street to the Newport Fisherman's Wharf. At Club Wyndham Long Wharf, these spacious one-, two-, and three-bedroom resort suites comfortably sleep four to eight guests and range from 403 to 1,075 square feet. Suites feature various bedding in the master and guest rooms, with each offering a queen sleeper sofa in the living area. You will appreciate the privacy of separate bedrooms, the economy of a kitchenette or full kitchen. Plus, washer/dryer in some suites with laundry facilities available onsite for those without. Pros: The Inn was a great value. It is in the heart of downtown, right on the Main Street. You have access to the waterfront, shopping, restraraunts and bars. The city itself is just quaint. They serve high tea and desserts. It was so wonderful to have a snack available. Breakfast is included as well, and the selection was wonderful. I had read some other reviews as they mention the decor is outdated. I think they are going for that historical feel. It is not a modern hotel. For the money, plus all the add ons and location, you will not find a better value.

Pros: The daily breakfast is a very nice spread and the hotel is right in the middle of an area with tons of restaurants, shops and bars which was awesome. They also have a nice roof deck of you want to get away from the crowds for a bit.

Pros: The location of this hotel was fantastic. We could walk to restaurants. The visitors center was close so that you could get both the local bus and the siggtseeing ones. The room was large and comfortable (refrigerator in room). Daily breakfast and afternoon tea were great - many choices.

Pros: This hotel is in the heart of downtown Newport and convenient to everything. We only used our car to drive to the mansions tour. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms have small kitchenettes with dining areas making it easy to bring food back or have a quick breakfast on hand, including glassware and utensils. We would happily stay at Newport Bay Club and Hotel again.

Pros: The hotel was beautiful. The staff was very attentive and courteous. The location PERFECT you literally walked down Mary St and you were in the center of Thames couldn't have asked for a more convenient spot. The views from the roof deck were breath taking.

Pros: Newport is known for its mansions and opulence. The Vanderbuilt is a modern version of a big and beautiful home. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. You may very well feel like you are an Astor or Berwind. My favorite part is brunch in the Conservatory. The food is great and the room is just so pretty. Not my first stay and won't be my last.

Pros: Front desk staff very helpful. Air conditioner was not working our first night they immediately sent someone up to take a look at it. He thought he had it fixed but that was not the case. We reported this to the front desk and they had the unit replaced the next day. Bar area downstairs is a great place to relax. Can't wait until the new restaurant opens.

Pros: The staff and location were amazing. Upon check in, they gave our daughter a little stuffed whale and she was in love! They also upgraded our room to a water view which was awesome. The on site restaurant, Scarpetta had delicious food and wonderful service.

Pros: When we got there they had s’mores outside at fire tables and a poolside ice cream social. The valet parking was only $20. Because they had to switch our room they upgraded us and waved the resort fee. There was plenty of staff and they were wonderful. The hotel was clean and updated.
