Pros: Excellent location with views of Lake Tarawera
Cons: Liked all
5.8 Okay
Pros: The lodge is beautiful however the food didn’t meet our expectation and the price is too costly for a lodge like that....
Cons: With this kind of charge the lodge should work harder on the food variety and the taste....
10.0 Excellent

Pros: Staff were really attentive and friendly. The room was amazing, overlooking the lake with fantastic “one off” activity opportunities.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff food and room
Cons: No spa or pool
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location of the lodge is everything, it is so peaceful and serene. We got to sleep with the curtains open as there is literally ZERO light pollution. You are sleeping amongst nature and stillness. This is a place where you slow down and read and relax and just enjoy being still. The meals are all included in the room rate and everything we ate was divine! We got massages in our room which were outstanding and a highlight of our stay, really put us in the right mode to make the most out of our short stay. Special mention to Suz who was very helpful and gave us some great local advice!
Cons: I think the mini bar beverages should be upgraded. For a premium lodge the mini bar options should reflect that and they didn't. Also there was no french champagne available by the glass which was disappointing.

Pros: Recommend if you are looking for total break from the mad day to day of a busy life or a romantic getaway ....Don't be alarmed though if you feel you are bored with you feet up, relaxing into the sumptuous leather chair in front of the fire in your luxury private villa, there is plenty to do. Recommend you get picked up for the four wheel drive around the estate and of course 70 kilometers of walks to choose from. We loved everything including the food which was outstanding.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great food
8.3 Excellent
Cons: The road in It is terrible
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved everything it was a fantastic stay
Cons: The only negatives were the music in the spa when having a massage was loud and then quiet and then would stop? And the road up was pretty messy for a motorbike ( but understandable as the rain had washed it out and the trucks from the slip had made it worse.(MY husband said it added to the adventure

Pros: Excellent location and the rooms were very spacious and clean. Staff are amazing and hosts are such lovely people. We left some items there and they are dropping them off to us personally when passing by our way, just awesome service.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We spent 3 nights at Arista of Rotorua. It was a chance find and boy!!!! wernt we lucky!!. A beautifully appointed spacious unit in two levels. Ideal for the kids to have their own space but still together. A tv upstairs with Disney Chanel and a dvd player so kids could have restricted entertainment. A tv on the ground floor with family movies as well as the Premier and sports Chanel. A spa tub in every room giving the privacy to all to relax after an active day outdoors. An inhouse playground right in front of the units if the kids have more energy to waste. A small kitchen and dining area for the family. Laundry facilities and rooms cleaned daily. All this a few minutes away from the town centre and major attractions.. We coudnt have asked for a better place for our holiday. Mike and family have done a fabulous job with the place and it was nice to know their story and to see how far they have come amidst their many obstacles. Highly recommended
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice extras like swim towels
Cons: Upstairs was hot, but there were fans. Maybe longer extension cords would have been good so the fans could reach all 3 twin beds upstairs.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner was very welcoming and everything was so nice i definitely think families would enjoy their stay here
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, comfortable, plenty of hot water and close to the varied attractions of Rotorua.
Cons: There was nothing that we didnt like. Everything was great, a well described place to stay.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: It is a family run accommodation, so to say there are immediate people who really care for what they offer. They also donate some of their business income to local children cancer hospital etc. So, it makes sense in many ways to support this motel with your stay.
Cons: Nothing to dislike.

Cons: The bed mattress too soft, noisy neighbours, narrow carparks
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent close enough to town while still being nice and quiet. The host was such a lovely person, caring and friendly. The accommodation was the best we have experienced in Rotorua over the last eight months, and we have stayed in many. Just wish we had come across it a little earlier
Cons: Rotorua is a very warm place in summer, and while there were fans available in the room, and you felt safe enough to leave your windows open, air con would of been the icing on the cake. Other than that there was nothing we didn't like about the Sport of Kings Motel
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice warm pool. Enjoyed the fresh milk and plunger coffee on our first night.
Cons: Air conditioning would be nice.

Cons: Nothing not to like.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was great, very close to the information centre and to Pub Street which was good for dinner. The pool looked fine but was always kids playing so we avoided it and the thermal pool was super tiny so not that awesome but still a nice relaxing moment when nobody else was around. The room was big and the bed was comfy. The staff were really, really nice and helpful thank you!!
Cons: Pretty pricey for what it is and some places probably have better thermal pool facilities.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The situation to the central city
Cons: Shower mixer was very difficult to get to a constant setting of warm, it would become either very hot or cold after a while

5.7 Okay
Cons: Room was exceptionally small.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Excellant staff.
Cons: Parking is a problem. No AC. Bed very soft.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Breakfast and dinner were both excellent
Cons: The rooms were not up to standard for what we paid. There were patches on ceiling and walls, the bedroom door did not shut because of bed taking up too much room. The shower was extremely poor, children had freezing cold showers and could not use the handle of the water temperature because it was so hard to use. You had to use brute force for all actions to get it on, turn it and then eventually turn it off. Dripped continuously at one point. These were going to be reported to a staff member, however, this particular staff member was not interested. The only staff member to not be more than accomodating.
6.7 Good

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was well presented and the staff, especially the cleaning staff were lovely
Cons: No cold pool and no air con in the sitting room. It was a very hot week.
6.3 Good
Pros: The rooms were clean and well equipped
Cons: Not what we expected for the price point. Now we know there are much better options in Rotorua. The staff were not helpful with trying to get parking and they mixed up our payments. The wifi doesn’t work
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel was better than I expected. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. We didn't get to stay in the Victorian building but our room was still great with many extras to make the stay comfortable....the beds were the best I think I have experienced in any hotel!
Cons: It was all very good.
7.0 Good
Pros: Close to everything in Rotoura and a really cool, older building.
Cons: We were in a larger suite and there was a lot of noise from the parking lot outside. The windows are very thin. The bathroom was also meh...otherwise everything was lovely.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Historic look to property yet facility had been updated with modern conveniences. Bathrooms were very modern looking while keeping the historic charm in the bedrooms. Staff was exceptionally helpful.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Experience was great
7.0 Good
Pros: Good staff and service
Cons: Air con didnt work and water was boiling hot with no cold. We moved rooms but not until the 2nd day day despite telling them on the first day. Lift floors were dirty. Hallways were hot. Entrance carpet dirty looking and generally everything looking rather run down
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was good and the staff was helpful. The food at the restaurant was good and the servers were very attentive and friendly. We loved the extra effort of putting umbrellas for guests to borrow on rainy days.
Cons: The internet was too slow and the volcanic fumes seep into the room air conditioner. The room lacked a microwave and the facilties were specifically for only two people even if we booked the adjacent room for another person to stay. It should have had extra coffee, tea and other supplies such as stirring spoon and mugs for the extra guest who was charged extra.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean and had everything a normal hotel has; bed, tv, shower with shampoos etc, hairdryer. We didn’t actually hang around too long as booked in and went straight out to Mitai Maori night (which was great!) so didn’t eat at the hotel. Sadly, we didn’t get time to use the pool either but staff were lovely and helpful.
Cons: Not much to not like when you don’t stay long enough!!
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The room was smaller than in the pictures and dirty.
6.8 Good
Pros: Affordable Great location
Cons: Bed was uncomfortable A/C had limited cooling

6.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast had a good selection, free parking onsite is so great and bed was super comfy.
Cons: bathroom seemed dated and unclean, Room was freezing upon arriving and walls seem a little thin for the number of children guests was a bit noisy with their excitement. Felt the pool is too small for number of guests.
7.0 Good
Pros: Beds were good, location is good, few things could be improved. Breakfast juice bar was good and the omelettes were good, needs more filling options though, ham, capsicum maybe.
Cons: Room 417, the toilet is 100 years old and disgusting. The pool needs a good clean and there’s broken tiles round the edges facing the 36 deg spa. Breakfast was very average, burnt pancakes, bland bacon, bland scrambled eggs. We only ate breakfast the one morning (Tuesday 21st) and there was 1 poor lady cooking eggs and doing her best but no one else to be seen! Tables not cleared, food pans not filled. Very disappointing. Also tried to charge us for a bottle of Sav Blanc which we never drank.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Easy free parking access, rooms were a good size, beds comfortable. Walking distance to lake and 2 minute walk to eat street. Did not use pool facilities , but looked nice. I would stay again and would recommend to other travelers.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All went well, nice place to stay!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: BREAKFAST NOT INCLUDED FOR MONEY I PAID
5.0 Okay
Pros: The bed was comfortable and the location to town and 'eat streat' was good.
Cons: The view from our room. Described as lake view which was really disappointing on arrival. You could see a slither of the lake passed the roof of the adjoining building. You could also see the other tower of rooms. See photo. The room wasn't particularly cosy. Two out of the three lifts were not working at one point and we could not find any stairs or any signs for them.

6.0 Good
Pros: Good location downtown, close to waterfront. My "lake view" room was dated, with some cracks in the doorframe and aging furniture. However, was clean and overall adequately comfortable. "Lake view" from 2nd floor simply means a view of the spa across the street, which is actually on the lake - we had no real lake view and actually paid extra for the "view". Would need a higher floor for the view. Room was not worth the price. I would recommend staying away from this hotel. 3 stars at best.
Cons: See above.
7.0 Good
Pros: Great location, not far from town, nice walks round about. Had a suite with included club. The club was great. Nice relaxed atmosphere, nice food and drink for free, waitress not friendly - more like efficient, but didn't detract from the atmosphere.
Cons: Breakfast wasn't great. We booked with included full breakfast but had to complain to get it. The serving staff were rushed off their feet, no smiles, had to keep asking for coffee (why not have self serve coffee), no croissants, quite limited in range of food. Not worth the money. I was disappointed as I love a varied buffet breakfast. We'd be looking to another hotel if you like to get up to a nice full breakfast.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed very comfortable, Also easy access in walking distance to centre of town.
Cons: The bathroom very dated .
7.0 Good
Pros: The hotel is very well located, the Spa with the fantastic thermal water are in the near for example . The beds are very comfortable and the Spa area is also ok ! The bed was very comfortable and beautiful view to the lake ! The wonderful polinesian Spa with fantastic thermal pools is just few steps away ! The Enviroment is beutiful , not far from the museum Park !
Cons: The staff is ok but nothing special . The hotel is crowded with many asian tourists . Some of the elevators dont really work .The elevators button dont have good descriptions to the pool and lobby area, so you dont now which floor they are to find :) Unfortunately The hotel is definitely very outdated ! For a cooked breakfast you need to pay NZD 7 extra otherweise you get only cold breakfast . I have never experienced this trange rule anywhere before ! Next time we will book an unfortunately another hotel in this area !
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good location.
