Pros: Great place, Great People. Is strange to feel to be part of a family in a 5 stars resort. But this it was. We loved the place, the food, and the amazing AIR. You can finally breath after few months in the big city of the Gulf pollution, humidity and sand! PErsonally I also loved the tours into the few archeological spots and museums around. After all, Salalah has been a city joining 3 continents for more than 40.000 years! If you are passionate about the links among civilities and know what to look for - this place is no short of hints!
Cons: Salalah is still a developing city. I have no doubt that in the future it will become a tourist hot spot. However a lot of work has to be done. It makes you feel that you need to do your part and help this city be again that beauty that marveled mediterranean, african and indian sailors centuries ago....

7.1 Good
Pros: For a city hotel it was better than expected. Room and bed comfortable, clean.
Cons: Location for my needs. I booked city hotel because I didn’t require a beach resort, I was in Salalah to buy Frankincense and Oudh which the Souks provided in vast quantities. But I had been hoping to be able to walk to cafes and shops, but unfortunately had to take taxis. This is not hotel’s fault of course but in the information I found. The hotel food. Very disappointing, mediocre and uninspired for having such access to fresh seafood, fruit etc. Also server in dining room was really pushing for sales and rather argumentative when I complained about ingredients in seafood biryani.ie miscroscopic shrimp. Wasn’t expecting Tiger prawns, but neither what looked like midget canned shrimp. Why can’t people just say “sorry” and carry on. Then at checkout, I saw on invoice two charges for airport shuttle about $22 usd each. This is about a 10 minute drive, but I had thought that providing an airport shuttle meant a free service. When I called to ask for pickup of course I should have asked if there was a charge, but then I wasn’t told that there would be one either. I was surprised by these charges and the receptionist became very unpleasant when I questioned them. Again, why can’t people just say sorry for the confusion and try to find a way to make the client feel better, The receptionist eventually did ask and had one charge taken off bill. However, wouldn’t plan to stay there again. Overall, a rare unhappy experience in Oman where most people are very kind and helpful toward tourists. This was my second visit to Oman and first type such experience in hotels, taxis, shops, or restaurants.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole experience from airport pick up to leaving two weeks later was fantastic. Our room was excellent a junior suite with balcony. The staff throughout were friendly and helpful from the managers to the room cleaners. We were very impressed with the staff at breakfast who made sure everything we needed was there. The breakfast buffet was amazing. We ate in the restaurants and attended the Christmas and New Years Eve events all of which couldn't be faulted. The poolside area staff were also excellent and the pool was spotless. We would like to commend several people for making our stay so special starting with Sanjeewa Perera assistant head chef. The catering and waiting staff in particular Ajay, Pradeep, Angelo, Zakeer and a special Mr Omelette Man Bert were all great. the young lady Kris and Azal who looked after our room so well also deserve a mention.
Cons: Nothing there was nothing that wasn,t excellent at the hotel.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, next to the mall where there are a few food options. Very safe and a lot of people around in the yard. The room was spacious and there was kitchen as well, but if you want to use it please bring your own kitchen stuff.
Cons: We booked a room for 3 and the sofa-bed was not comfortable at all and it could not fit an adult properly. The staff didn't bring towels and blankets accordingly to 3 people. The room was not cleaned properly in daily basis.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing beaches, a calm lagoon, a sports beach and a natural more wild beach with great waves. Great choice of restaurants a short walk away along the lagoon.
Cons: Hotel was full and the reception seemed very busy when we arrived. Buffet breakfast was busy and you had to wait to collect your food. Went for dinner at Breakers but left as still hadn’t received drinks after 30 mins of waiting. Poor service.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The facilities and the choice of restaurants
Cons: No preparation of the extra beds for our kids before our arrival
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We had a room with a see view
6.0 Good
Pros: I really liked the hotel, but seems when we came it was busy days 100% hotel occupancy and staff didn't gave us enough information. Family friendly, lots of European tour operators dealing with Fanar Hotel and as individual traveller you can't simply join kids activities.
Cons: Front desk and concierge staff not cooperative much. They are not ignoring but could be the better way handling guests. Really didn't liked the waiters at the Juweirah Main restaurant, not friendly especially with name Ravi. Not happy to accept in the restaurant. So construction noise was disturbing at the site out of hotel but luckily the noise wasn't overnight.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Location only
Cons: Food and beverage, price for what you get and the horrible bed in the room. This hotel is for all inclusive and should not be sold to anyone else as it is impossible to find good food or good beverages ... all very poor quality. The new year gala price was 80 OMR!!!! And the food was the same as the all inclusive buffet, same wine and same licor, which was the worse quality I have never seen. The entertainment was ridiculous ... I felt that was a robbery ... never seen anything that expensive that bad quality. It was our second time in the hotel (as our first experience was good) and we will never come back again after this
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast spread. Front reception very helpful. Welcome drink served.
Cons: I was actually expected a room with balcony/sea view and twin bed when booked (according to the pictures). But when arrived, we were given sea view with no balcony and king size bed instead. Suggest Fanar to be more precise in describing what's in the room when booking. Also, perhaps Fanar could consider providing shuttle service to Salalah town.

9.0 Excellent
Cons: the location of the hotel is excellent
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The location was very nice.
Cons: The rooms very old and dirty WC.
7.0 Good
Pros: The aircon is very good, it doesn't blow on the bed, and it doesn't require a room card. So basically it stays on all day long if you wish so, and it's very nice to come into a cool room after being outside on the heat. The bed is cozy and provides excellent quality of sleep. The area is very quiet, you can sleep till 12pm without a single noise from outside. The hotel is bikini-friendly. There is a place for table tennis, free of charge, also beach volleyball (and people were playing). The pool is quite good, only I'd wish it were a bit deeper; anyway this is the first pool which was almost able to replace the sea for me, and it's a great achievement for a pool. There is decent amount of sunbeds, quality of them is just fine. Most sunbeds are located next to the umbrellas giving the shadow, and you can move the sunbed in and out the shadow. The food, though horribly expensive, has decent quality. Breakfasts are VERY good. Within 30 minutes of walk outside the hotel one could reach the local restaurants; most of them were closed though. There is not much opportunity to get anywhere else except them, so the guests are very limited in choice when it comes to food.
Cons: Everything is horribly expensive. I was continuously getting frustrated from the prices on food, coffee, drinks, everything. The diving center seems deserted. The person who was there could only get me on the phone with someone who actually offered something, and you don't get any advertising information like what are the dive sites, their maps, what kind of marine life you can see there, nothing of this kind, simply give us your money and come diving. The start of morning diving is 8am which is rather early, considering there is no dive spots with such marine life to be seen only in the mornings. The beach is rather far from the hotel and pool territory. Okay, far here means maybe 200m, but you need to walk it through the sand, and there is no infrastructure on the beach itself. This can be both plus and minus though, as it gives the feeling of the wild beach. However the view to the sea is not spectacular; a bit to the right side you can see a big loading dock, and it kinda ruins the view. The sea entrance is rather pleasant, there is a short distance of stones under your feet but nothing horrible. The lunch time and dinner times are not the best, you can get hungry between them and there will not be much to satisfy your hunger.
