Cons:

We were very disappointed that some crucial information is not shared with the customers. We were not informed that every kilometre has an additional fee. We were renting a car just for one day and the overall price ended up being twice as much from what was promised on the day we picked up the car.

Clean small car.

Cons:

The staff seemed annoyed when asked to assist on driving the car from its parked location in the garage which seems obstructed by another rental vehicle. Car was an automatic, but it was not explained that the car can also be placed in a manual mode. In the USA a car is either one or the other. Ok

All the staff were INCREDIBLY kind, professional, and helpful. They went out of their way to make things easy and without fuss. This goes for the pick-up point in Lisbon as well as the drop-off in Faro. The only issue I might point out was the final cost being a bit more than the projected quote, however this has been an issue at just about any car rental I've ever encountered. Of course this mild issue cannot be put on the staff, and I'd like to reiterate just how great they all were to myself and to my group.

Pros:

They upgraded my car for free.

Cons:

It felt a bit like a scam charging me €100 for a small scratch on the hub cap which was probably not my doing. The guy was a bit too quick to catch it. Also have not received necessary documents for my insurance claim yet.

Centric place into the city to pick-up the car

Cons:

Bad and very slow service to receive the car perhaps pushing customer to accept a more expensive option to accelerate the delivery process... mostly when you arrive to the Europcar office with the family and kids waiting more than one hour with an anticipated reservation/schedule already confirmed

At pick up, I did not like the sales and guilt speech that the representative held. He tried to make me change my reservation for a more expensive car. Even AFTER I REFUSE THE CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) 2 or 3 times, he insisted menacing that the car value Euro 13,000 will be charge on my credit card if any damage occurs. He continued even when I told him that my credit Card will cover the CDW. Is it because I am a women that he think I am stupid? I was very displeased by his condescending tone.

DO NOT RENT FROM EUROPECAR in Lisbon. When we returned the car at the end they found one small scratch on the end of the mirror and charged me $150 for it. What a rip-off. It was clear at drop off that they make extra money by doing a better inspection at return than they do at pick-up, and then gouging the renter for the repairs. The inspector even cleaned a few dead bugs off of the other mirror to make sure they weren't rock-chips. THIS WAS OBVIOUSLY A SET UP. Expect to have problems if you rent from them.
