10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is awesome. The breakfasts are amongst the best I've ever eaten. The cleanliness of the room/apartment (and the rest of the hotel) actually sparkled and the staff could not have been friendlier or more courteous and helpful - not the cheapest, but excellent all round. If ratings went to 6 stars The Rosevine would be up there!
Cons: I would have preferred breakfast to be served from an hour earlier than 0830 - but then I'm an early riser. There was nothing else not to like!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff are lovely, the view is gorgeous and the food is delightful. Will be back for sure!!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and welcoming team on hand to look after you. Beautiful location that was far from the madding crowd. Sea views and a cosy drawing room to relax in with a log burner.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent hotel with friendly staff in a great, out of the way location. Beautiful room, grounds and surrounding landscape. We would definitely return here, wish we'd spent an extra day to take more in. The restaurant was very good for dinner and breakfast.
Cons: I can't find any fault here. This was one of the best places we stayed among 12 different small hotels, castles & inns across Cornwall, Dartmoor and Devon.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our room (one of the "Slate" rooms) was perfect for enjoying the beach, then retreating back up to get showered - felt perfectly setup. Cream tea was to die for and enjoyed in a beautiful garden at dusk setting. Evening dining... Sea Bass - taste of the sea - want to go back just for that and to try everything else on their menu. Breakfast was fabulous. Every one of the staff we interacted with were warm and welcoming.
Cons: No bath in our room. Still a great wet-room shower though.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best, best and best of the best!!! Thank you all “The rosevine” team! So kind and shining brit you will not find any others in the whole UK. Absolutely clean, fresh, cozy and enough big room. Little personal kitchen with all you can need. Breathtaking views and great location saved from unpredictable weather. Very tasty and healthy local food. Great thanks for cook - thats most important when traveling with 2y.o. toddler. Very good equipment (everything you need and good quality ) in the bathroom. Big parking, laundry room. Friendly for kids and dogs but clean everywhere all corners, etc...

10.0 Excellent
Pros: So enjoyed our overnight stop here. Part of the coastal walk path, great food staff and a lovely room. Just duck your head. Very much worth the visit to this smugglers cove - thank you to all.
Cons: I have zero complaints.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Delicious food, warm room, blissfully comfy bed and hot water bottles brought round each evening! Efficient, kind and thoughtful staff. A force 8 gale blew the whole time we were there, but we didn’t mind one bit - we just hunkered down in the comfort of The Lugger, watched the dramatic waves crashing on the rocks, read books and were totally lazy - wonderful.
Cons: Can’t think of a single thing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous location. Staff friendly and very helpful. Lovely extra touches like hot water bottle put in our bed, cakes left in our room, got chocolate at bedtime and bottled water for our journey home. Also very flexible Re dinner menu!!
Cons: N/a
5.0 Okay
Pros: The chef knows how to cook! The food, albeit rather expensive, was very good. The location, of course, was amazing, the staff mostly friendly and helpful. There were several nice touches such as home made cookies and muffins in the room, hot chocolate and a hot water bottle given at the bed turn down. Also a very welcome bottle of water each for our journey home.
Cons: Mainly, room 303. It was beside the road, but did have a view of the cove, if one squinted, and a part of the terrace accessed by 2 other rooms. Other rooms in the hotel have charm, this does not. The sofa is barely a 2 seater and is not comfortable, the coffee rattan table was covered in the hotel’s magazines. There was no reading light for the sofa, which was the only suitable place to sit and read at length. There was no safe. The windows were always covered in condensation in the mornings as the only ventilation was onto the terrace by french doors. The windows didn’t open. The bathroom was small and in need of upgrading with a loo that was an effort to flush, taps that were none too quick to release water and a bath that would be better turned into a walk-in shower. There was nowhere to put sponge bags. Parking was not easy and parking places are on the small size.
10.0 Excellent

8.0 Excellent
Pros: pleasant attentive staff and cosy atmosphere
Cons: main courses were a little disappointing and on second night had to be sent back.

Cons: Attention to service and better bed. Felt like our presence was an inconveience
9.4 Excellent
Pros: The staff were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble.
Cons: Quantity of food at dinner time was minimalist which encourages customers to go for at least two courses. Food pricing expensive......but few other eatery options in Portloe.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The heating was excellent and th breakfast superb
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The amazing location the food was fairly tasty breakfast was really nice service was much better

Pros: The lodge was comfortable, nicely decorated and well stocked with crockery etc. We love the grounds and the pool and the relaxed atmosphere.
Cons: There is nothing we didn't like. It was a shame the sauna wasn't working but this didn't ruin our break.
7.0 Good
Pros: The general decor, comfortable beds and seating
Cons: The porcelain baking dishes could do with replacing as they were old, chipped and had burnt on food The boiler malfunctioned in the first 4 hours so the heating went off. My husband, an engineer fixed it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is exceptional, lovely hidden in a forest our lodge was spacious and clean. Staff were absolutely amazing and very helpful. We even have swimming pool completely for our own as the place was quiet.
Cons: The place would benefit from a playing area for the little ones.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Place surrounded by a beautiful garden and nature. Immaculate and clean.
Cons: None
7.1 Good
Pros: Loved the size of the lodge and the location. Beautiful grounds and lodge well designed so the bedrooms were away from the living accomodation. A very nice break and the location was superb for visiting the local area.
Cons: Badly signposted. A sign on the main road would be helpful. Hot water was not hot enough despite altering the boiler in the utility. Need more cutlery and crockery as there are literally only enough utensils for 5. Would gave been far more helpful if there had been someone to greet us when we arrived instead of us having to chase round in the rain trying to find where we get the key. Little things would make this so much easier.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole place was great and it was so quiet and I loved that they put a Christmas tree in the lounge.
Cons: I wished the pool was available in the mornings. There always seemed to be a kids swimming class when we were there.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, very quiet and far from the busy traffic; some beautiful gardens (National Trust) to visit in the area (between 10 to 30 min drive); 10 min drive to Truro

10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful, relaxing and peaceful stay at the Hotel Tresanton. The location - facing the sea and stunning Roseland coastline was sublime. The rooms were very well appointed and tastefully decorated - and were spotlessly maintained every day. The staff were extremely polite, helpful and welcoming. Opening my French windows every morning to sit out in the sun and enjoy the fresh and soothing sea breeze was everything that was needed for a relaxing, yet indulgent holiday. I had not car, but had little trouble in getting around via the numerous Ferries from St Mawes and the excellent local bus service. I was staying in one of the cottage rooms apart from the hotel, which was wonderful for the secluded, restful break that I wanted. The breakfast was tasty and filling - fresh orange juice, croissants, toast and marmalade, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs! So much choice, but cooked to perfection and serviced with courtesy and care.
Cons: That I had to go home!
7.5 Good
Pros: The location is great and it's easy to get t Yarmouth by ferry and the walking locally is lovely, food is also very good. Staff couldn't be more friendly or helpful

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Style, location, view, service - just perfect
Cons: The bar could be in a better place

When you a stay at St Mawes Hotel in Truro, you'll be on the beach, within a 5-minute walk of St. Mawes Beach and Roseland Visitor Centre. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services and luggage storage.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great Location; lovely large room; super king size bed; very nice dinner in the restaurant. Intriguing happening - the ceiling lights in the bedroom occasionally dimmed and brightened at totally random frequency. Don't know if this was an electrical problem or a spiritual manifestation - but didn't sense any psychic vibrations!!
Cons: Nothing comes to mind.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Our second visit within two weeks. Very attentive staff. Comfortable and spacious room. Great breakfast. A very relaxed environment.
Cons: Parking only available in public car parks - could the hotel cover the parking costs or have reserved spaces in the car parks?

8.3 Excellent
Pros: breakfast had a good selection, but had to ask for tea and coffee even after cook food had arrived. But on thesecond day all was well as there was a staff change and they were helpful and cheerful
Cons: having ordered our evening meal it took nearly an hour to arrive ( had to go down tothebar area and re order as it appeared our order had been overlooked. We had boooked the table (family of 5)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a real gem! The hotel itself is beautifully appointed in both the public/front of house areas and the guest rooms.... real care has obviously been taken to get the decor and atmosphere just right and the place is kept spotless! The food is out of this world.... it's not the biggest menus, but the selection there is heavenly (I thoroughly recommend the monkfish if it's on!). The staff were absolutely fantastic.... I really can't praise them enough, they're polite, attentive but not in your face. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone.....
Cons: Honestly...... nothing spoilt our stay! If I had to come up with something I'd mention that the soundproofing between rooms 1 and 2 (where we were) doesn't quite muffle the sound of someone who watched loud television late at night.... but it was a minor inconvenience that didn't spoil our stay.

Cons: Nothing really!

Pros: Excellent weekend spent here the place is spotless and the rooms are so comfortable and cosy. Excellent tea and coffee making facilities in the room. No crappy instant. Home made flapjacjs in the room too. Shampoo conditioner and body wash in dispensers in the bathroom. Amazing breakfast. Will be returning here regularly.
Cons: Only a couple of car parking spaces
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything, the staff were great and made us very welcome. Food was excellent and the breakfasts were amazing. The location couldn’t be better for walking, boat trips, parking and the beach. I would highly recommend the Riding Sun as a get away. Family suite was spacious, 2 rooms and a bathroom great value.
Cons: New shower needed
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were so friendly and really made us feel at home! There was a fridge on the landing with fresh milk and fruit available, plus a range of lovely fresh teas, coffee and home made biscuits in the room. So many lovely touches in the room including a Xmas tree! The bed was super comfy and the pillows to die for!! And to add to the wonderful atmosphere there was a lovely log burner to sit by in the lounge, where we enjoyed an early evening drink! We would highly recommend the Rising Sun for a wonderful stay, and we would like to say a very big thank you to all the staff and wish them a very happy Xmas. Cheers to you all! Patricia Evans
Cons: Nothing at all!
6.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast was as expected, plenty of it and well presented. The location was as expected. We have stayed/visited/camped/sailed to and from at St Mawes for 30+years but had not stayed as the Rising Sun before. Had many liquid lunches there though! The snug with wood burner and over spill dining area is homely.
Cons: Unfortunately there was an all pervading smell of strong disinfectant about the place the whole time. Mostly downstairs. There were a few drinkers in the bar Sat pm who's language was not acceptable. They either didn't realise or didn't care about the visiting customers or the effect it could have had. I am no prude, but that was not good enough. Had I not have paid upfront I think I would have de-camped to the St M Hotel.

Pros: Breakfast was superb, delicious, fresh, plentiful.
Cons: Noisy heating.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: All the meals were delicious. Top marks. Location was excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. Car park nearby which is handy if you can't park at hotel.
Cons: Better lighting in the bedroom to allow us to read. Mattress a bit lumpy which could do with an upgrade.

Cons: We have been before and I thought the hotel looked a little tired, the bathrooms a little worn and just a little frayed around the edges.

Cons: The bar could be in a better place
