10.0 Excellent
Pros: From arrival to departure the hosts were fantastic, very friendly and nothing was any trouble. The whole place was spotless, tastefully decorated, very comfortable and ideally located for the town centre. If going by car, there are spaces round the corner and you get a temporary permit when you check in...no parking worries at all! It's altogether an ideal place for a weekend or overnight stay. We would definitely stay again.
Cons: The only disappointment was the weather, which of course the hosts could do nothing about, although im sure they would if they could!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nicely situated and easy to find. The hosts were friendly and helpful with nothing being a problem. The family were all polite and charming and helped to convey a family atmosphere to the residence. Breakfasts were excellent and plentiful. Easy walk to the shops and the centre of town and a nice stroll from some really good eating places and pubs. Happy to return to this property if we make it back to Carlisle.
Cons: The only thing which was disconcerting about the place was the hot water system but we found the same system in quite a few of the B&B places we used during our trip around UK.
6.7 Good
Pros: The room was tastefully decorated and had a few delightful little extras. The owner was very friendly and hands on. Breaky was very good and it was a short and easy walk into the high street.
Cons: There was a lot of steep narrow stairs in this old but nicely renovated guest house and parking can be a little difficult to find. We were on the top floor and the en-suite type bathroom was very small like you’d find in a caravan and my son couldn’t stand up properly in it due to lack of head room.

Pros: Andrew and his wife were very welcoming and friendly. The food was very nice. The whole place was really clean, comfortable beds, really quite and relaxing place to stay. Complimentary bottles of water in the room along with a good selection of tea, coffee and biscuits. Room had a nice view over the garden and pond.
Cons: The only thing was the check-in time was a bit later, and the checkout time slightly earlier than the industry standard 4pm and 10.30am, however this is not a hotel with staff on duty 24 hours a day and is run very well by the owners.

Pros: Excellent little hotel very friendly staff (most accommodating as we did not arrive until after 21.30hrs) One of the cleanest hotels we have stayed in in a long time. Cooked breakfast was excellent with great choice. Its within two minutes of the M6 but you would not know that if hadn't come off it. Very comfy bed and the room was a very good size with a nice view over the duck pond in the morning.
Cons: No bath, but the shower was more than adequate, its just sometimes nice to have a soak after a long day.

Pros: Absolutely everything. Warm, friendly welcome and genuine concern to have the best possible stay. Can not rate this guesthouse highly enough.
Cons: Nothing bad at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Adele (the owner) welcomed us into her home in such a warm and friendly way, she remembered our names, made sure we had everything we needed, and took care of us. As someone who is LGBT going to guesthouses can be nerve-wracking because you hear the horror stories of people being turned away by the proprietors, but Adele put us at ease and treated us like family. The room, which was spotless, was fully stocked and even came with a really helpful guide to local attractions and recommended eateries. The breakfast was delicious, and quickly prepared by Adele herself.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Adel was a wonderful hostess, an incredibly warm and welcoming person- born to own a B&B. We only spent 1 night here as we were going to a concert, but we had a very nice time and appreciated just how well we were treated by Adel. She makes everyone feel right at home. Our room was very warmly decorated, comfortable and clean. Do not pass up her wonderful breakfast! She is a great cook and so happy to please. I am a vegan and she went out of her way to make a special breakfast just for me... vegan sausages, vegan cheese, avocado toast... We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and would recommend her B&B.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It was well located, a 10-15 minute walk to the train station and easy access to restaurants and the town centre.
Cons: The room was a bit small and breakfast was late but breakfast was good and had I not been in a rush I wouldn’t have minded. A small desk to do some work on would improve the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely amazing place to stay. The owner Adele was so helpful nothing was to much trouble. It was home from home. Will Deffo go back. Beautiful
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was delicious and always had to be told the night before. The host was fabulous and very welcoming. Nothing was too much. We were even given a permit to park the car in the streets surrounding the B&B.
Cons: It was very cold when I was in Carlisle and the rooms were a little colder then I am used too, but with the extra blankets it was much better.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely clean guest house, landlady very helpful
Cons: Nothing

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Traditional style hotel and service, the sat afternoon have worked there for a long time and therefore care that the guests are being looked after. Very quiet location.
Cons: Although the squeaky floor boards are quaint they can be a bit of a nuisance at night!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful find in a lovely friendly village
Cons: Had a hiccup with the food, came late and then not cooked. We weren’t charged for 1 meal and free sweets so didn’t complain. Have been many times before and have never had issues. Wouldn’t stop me returning
8.0 Excellent
Pros: A hotel that is dated and not anything fancy, but has real charm. Rooms are comfortable and clean, but could probably do with a refurb at some point soon. The bar is welcoming and friendly with good food and nice beer. Great breakfast!
Cons: Sound travels a lot in the hotel especially from floor above and through the walls. So it can be a bit noisy at night. The rooms and bathrooms are a bit dated.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very nice and help with bottles for our baby. Much appreciated.
Cons: It was not really an issue as there was two of us but there was no lift so we had to carry a pram up the stairs. Not a major issue.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: A lovely welcome. Met lot's of staff and all had a good welcome for us. Breakfast staff and reception staff were exceptional and couldn't do enough for us. Good vegan breakfast and soya milk provided in our room as requested. We were staying at the hotel for a close family member funeral and subsequent house clearance, so good service and welcome were vital. Thank you.
Cons: I had a poor vegan meal served in the pub on Sunday night. I was unable to eat it. The pub staff didn't quite know what to do and I was expecting someone to come over to me and help. I had to go to reception to ask for the restaurant manager. She tried her best to help but the hotel had limited ingredients on a Sunday night to offer me an alternative meal. The pasta wasn't possible as it was egg based and the Sunday lunch vegetables were cooked/ dressed with butter. This experience didn't spoil my stay but it made it a bit more challenging.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Very dated property needs serious investment. Staff were friendly enough and pool was ok.
Cons: Old fashioned. Carpets old and black. Creaking floors. Decor very old as was furnishings

7.0 Good
Pros: The staff (check in and restaurant ) were excellent. The bedroom was very basic and very dated but clean. I was glad i chose a quiet room as the noise from the street was excessive. The breakfast was perfect-maybe all the cooked produce could have have been kept a bit hotter however.

Pros: I had dinner in the hotel and it was excellent
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nothing special, but very clean and staff is friendly. If you need to stay in Longtown for some reason, this is the best option. Ask for the room facing away from the road if you like to sleep in in the morning as the traffic starts around 6am.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed at the Graham Arms before and everything was exactly as it should be. We had a panic with our dog who decided on his early morning walk to swim the river and caused us to be later than planned for breakfast, the staff coped with this very well, and we able to depart on time for our long drive south.
Cons: Nothing really
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good value, large quiet room. Fine for overnight en route to highlands. Warm bar & welcoming staff. Traditional bar food without any frills.
Cons: Needs a makeover but clean and adequate.
7.0 Good
Pros: Drinks.breakfast.
Cons: Noise of traffic in morning from about 5am
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was arranged in the bar where so that we could have breakfast with dogs close by. This was well thought out and worked out well. Secure parking for our car was good as we were on route to Glencoe and laden with luggage and Christmas gifts. Staff on reception and in restaurant (large portions and home made pie was delicious and great value) were excellent. Very welcoming and professional. 24 hour porter availability ensured that dogs could be taken for a very early morning loo break (6.30am). Overall a good overnight stay.
Cons: Minor issue was the bedroom door lock that did not always work but we sorted it in the end.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable room (ours had a four poster bed), good location for an overnight stop over from Yorkshire to Scotland. Good home cooked pub food available in the restuarant with friendly, attentive and customer focussed staff
Cons: WiFi reception in rooms is patchy. It's an old coaching inn with thick walls so would benefit from the installation of addition WiFi repeaters. On street car parking BUT there is room for 1 or 2 cars off the street so not a real issue for us as were offered one of these spots

Pros: The property was gorgeous, the room was huge, the place was immaculate, the owner is phenomenal, and the food was wonderful. The bed was really comfortable, and the room was really great. The car park was bigger than expected, and the gardens were nice (even in winter). I cannot say enough as things were perfect and we were very pleased and will return again!
Cons: All was good, I have nothing to complain about. The visit was simply perfect and had no flaws. I cannot find anything to say that is not positive.

Pros: 5 * Great location for us just travailing through, but would make a great center for a holiday in the area.
Cons: No rooms with baths available but shower was very large and well thought out.

Pros: Lovely place with very friendly staff. Bed and room was comfortable and lovely and warm! Will definitely stay again if I am in the area.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent little hotel very friendly staff (most accommodating as we did not arrive until after 21.30hrs) One of the cleanest hotels we have stayed in in a long time. Cooked breakfast was excellent with great choice. Its within two minutes of the M6 but you would not know that if hadn't come off it. Very comfy bed and the room was a very good size with a nice view over the duck pond in the morning.
Cons: No bath, but the shower was more than adequate, its just sometimes nice to have a soak after a long day.

Cons: Nothing bad at all.
