Cons: Kayak should tell people about the rental car policies. It's not as easy as it sounds, especially if you don't have a credit card. Sins rental car places don't take debit cards, and the ones that do run a credit check. If your credit is bad, they turn you away. Kayak need another layer that checks for that before booking .. I wasted my time going to the car rental place to learn I could not get a rental car or pay a hefty hold fee.

Pros: The customer service is fine
Cons: I had 2 separate rental cars with mechanical issues, causing me to spend over 12 hours of my trip dealing with trying to get a new rental car. And when I brought this to the attention of the company, I was only offered a 10% off my next rental.

Car was not great
Pros: The car we drove was a lemon. Even though the car had less than 1000 miles on it, it drove horribly. The seats were uncomfortable, the ride was loud and bumpy and the overall construction was flimsy. The tailgate would not close easily and the alarm went off inexplicably a few times. I would not rent this car again.

Toyota Santa Fe is NOT BY ANY MEANS a comparable size to a 4Runner
Pros: Aside from the things mentioned in the "what we didn't like" section... It was very clean and comfortable to drive.
Cons: Since we have a Toyota 4Runner that is the car we put in the rental order for . Knowing that, at one point, we would have 5 people traveling with us. When we arrived they didn't have a 4Runner but had a Sante Fe waiting for us. Saying, "well, it does say "or comparable size". I told the agent we would have 5 people and luggage. He said it would seat 5 just fine. So, I trusted his knowledge. (LAST TIME I will EVER do THAT) He said that he also had a Yukon for an additional $75.00 a day. I wasn't thrilled about paying that much more since I KNEW the 4Runner I ordered would have seated us all comfortably, on our way to New Orleans. As it turned out, the Santa Fe DOES NOT fit 5 comfortably. I will admit the back seats were probably the most comfortable back seats I have ever experienced.... when there are TWO people in the back. But it is NOT big enough for 3 adults. The Toyota Santa Fe IS NOT BY ANY MEANS a comparable size to a Toyota 4Runner.

Best car for traveling
Pros: I really liked my 2017 Kia Sportage. Very sporty looking and great gas mileage. Plenty of room and the crossover road really good.

Pros: Found I had reserved the car at a different location than the airport in Jackson, MS. Clerk could not transfer the reservation to the airport location. I would have had to take a cab to the other rental location. I had to call and cancel the reservation and make a new reservation at the airport. Originally I had booked online through Kayak.
When I got to the garage to pick up my car, they were out of economic cars. They upgraded me to a Ford Expedition. It was a tank for one person. The weather was bad so it worked out.

Pros: The vehicle was nice
Cons: They didn't have the car ready, there was personal belongings of the previous driver still in the car. Also, the car needed some maintenance(an alignment). I generally don't have any problems with Enterprise!

Pros: The clerk was friendly and cheerful.
Cons: This was my very first time renting a car ever. I was very nervous about it, but thought it was my best option. So, I reserved the car online and called the Jackson Airport Enterprise to confirm that I would pickup and drop off at the airport. After being assured that was right, I tried to relax; but when I got to Jackson to pick up my rental, I was told I would have to pay for a taxi to go pickup my car. This would cost $30 to pick up and $30 to get back to airport after drop off. Then I couldn't count on making my flight. My other option was to pay an additional $70 to get a car at the airport. I agreed to the $70 since now I'm feeling stranded. Then the clerk wouldn't let me pay ahead with my debit and place a deposit on my credit card. He insisted I pay at pick up. When I arrived to return the car, Enterprise wasn't even open. My flight left at 6 a.m. so I had to accept that they would charge my credit card. I don't like credit and really prefer to pay as I go. Now, I'm left watching for the charge to show up on my statement to make sure they don't overcharge me. The stress continues...

Cons: The car wasn't as clean as it should have been. And back left tire lost air pressure overnight. However, Carson gave me consideration for the inconvenience.

Sad that I had a bad experience
Pros: I usually love enterprise, but I found the people behind the counter rude and uncaring. And, a car that was $13/day on line turned out to be $40/ day with the only explanation being "taxes"
Cons: Took a long time and a very long line in the terminal to get the paperwork. Should have had more than one person behind the desk.

Pros: Told reserved "manager's special", so had to take a minivan. There was no mention of that during the initial reservation on the website. I protested that online develop behind me so I took the minivan, but when I went to the lot, I was relieved to find nice little sedan instead.
Cons: Initial bad news, followed by relief. I would really hate to believe Alamo with bait and switch at a higher rate which is what the clerk said might happen. I was just having him check when the line started behind me. He did mention I was about the tenth customer that was offered the manager special and others had ended up getting a different type of car, presumably at an increased cost. The car was nice, but not clean. Crumbs everywhere!

Pros: Dollar in Jackson no longer staffs their night shift.
I arrived at 9:25pm for an agreed upon 10:00pm pickup and no one was at the counter or anywhere else in affiliation with Dollar. The Hertz rep (who a future a Dollar phone rep would tell me to go see) told me that the Dollar rep had left at 3:45pm and that there hadn't been a night shift Dollar person lately. No one rented me a car and I had to pay 3x as much with a different company. I'll never use Dollar again.
Cons: I didn't like... my reservation not being honored and having to play over $100 more for a less than two day reservation to a different company for a last second rental because the local Dollar office failed to hire anyone to work for night shifts.

Who is on duty?
Cons: No one was working at the desk until 12 noon on day of return. Refueled the vehicle but was charged a refuel service fee.
Windows were dirty. No one on duty to check vehicle on leaving facility. No one on duty when returning vehicle. Pick up and return was approximately 9:00 AM.

Misleading size description
Pros: The staff members at the desk in the terminal were helpful and courteous.
Cons: The car was listed as suitable for 5 adults, but it was a Ford Fiesta, which was not large enough for 5 adults to be comfortable. A car model was not given, so I did not know this until I was in the garage. There is poor signage to tell you where the Dollar cars are- I rent from this airport regularly and had to walk around clicking the key fob until I found it. And there was no one checking-in the cars as people returned, so I had to go back into the terminal and turn in paperwork at the desk before I could proceed to my flight.

Pros: Even though I only booked this rental about a week before the Thanksgiving holiday, they still had enough full-size vehicles available, which I was so happy about. For that reason alone, I felt the price was more than fair. In gact, it was so fair that I was able to upgrade my rental! My family was comfortable and happy.

Cons: The guy working at the counter (from Hertz even thought I was renting from Thrifty) could take a few lessons in customer service. He was rude and argumentative. But that was understandable since he then had his manager call me as soon as I left the airport (WHILE I WAS DRIVING). His manager was also severely lacking in customer services. When asked directly about policies on the company website, he got very defensive and began yelling at me. I apologized for his lack of knowledge and hung up because I don't usually use the phone while I am driving. I will NEVER rent from them again. Their people are not trained in their policies and exceptions. And then they are rude. I did not find either one of their behaviors acceptable when dealing with anyone, much less your customer! Imagine the treatment I would have gotten if I had had a problem and needed help!
The car was only mildly clean and it smelled.

Pros: I liked the efficiency of service, the car was ready. It was a great experience. The rental process was hindered by the overly flirty associate.
Cons: The associate was unprofessional. He asked me where I was going, where I worked, make comments about my appearance. When I asked him what was his purpose, he stated it was apart of his job.
I came to get a car, not to be harassed at the counter by a hormonal college student. He thought my irritation was funny. He and the female associate next to him. It was not.

Pros: The lady in Mobile that exchanged the car was nice.
Cons: The car engine warning light came on and the radio screen went black about two hours into our trip. We were on a long trip from Jackson, MS to St. Augustine, FL. So we spent an hour locating and trading out the car for another one in Mobile. The lady at the counter was nice. But, there was no additional time added to our contract so we had to rush to Florida so that we wouldn't have an additional charge.

I was not satisfied with the Insurance offer's
Pros: The car was clean, good on gas, pick up and drop off was good.
Cons: The car was too small, the agents didn't explain the Insurance well. I paid for insurance and locked the key in the trunk and I had to pay another $60. That could have been avoided if that was explained when I picked the car up. Thanks. DEBORAH CHUKKA

Worst value and customer service ever
Cons: After making online reservations and driving across town to pick up the rental car, the rude agent said that I must have a "printed utility bill" as proof of residency. I am 65 years old with a valid drivers license. I provided the license and credit card as I always do and she said she could not rent me the vehicle without the "printed proof of residency". I rent cars almost weekly and will never use Payless again.

Cons: Scheduled pick up for 8pm. They closed at 8pm and no one was able to assist me with rental. I had to cancel and order another car last minute through a different company. I had to pay more and lost 2 hours of time. Called Bridget Whiteman, the supervisor, and she recommended I wait until the next morning to pick up the car. Very poor service and would not recommend.
