10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very uniqe place with beautiful surounding! A huge room with style and character. Clean room and helpfull staff. Big and beautiful garden with a little river beside it. Great breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Characterful rural property with a beautiful garden. Room was cool and dark due to its position under a verandah. E xcellent breakfast. Friendly owner
Cons: Due to the age and nature of the property there was a musty smell. Very noisy creaking floor above us and plumbing above noisy too!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The Quinta was a pleasant place to stay, a comfortable room with traditional furniture and good bedlinen and a new bathroom, It has rather strange surroundings but an attractive garden with a good pool and a nice country view. The owners are friendly. Breakfast is standard fare. We found restaurant im Lousa 'To dos Frangos' to be extraordinarily good value, massive portions very cheaply, beware the is a Locals section which is fun and a normal restaurant. 'Vilha' not quite so cheap but the delicious pork shin could easily have fed three!
Cons: The disadvantages are that, after a long tiring journey it was very difficult to find using GPS and the nearest restaurants are over three miles away in Lousa. The hot water supply is temperamental despite the fact we were the only guests. Wifi coverage is poor.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff very helpful and respectful
Cons: The farm is very small and dos not have restaurant for diner or lunch.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great room, silence, great garden en pool, very nice breakfast and tasteful dinners. Perfect place to come to rest.
Cons: I was travelling by public transport, than the location is a bit outside but still manageable if you use taxis. For 2 dinners, 1 lunchbox and 1 clothing washing I paid 60 euros what is a bit high to Portugese norms.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This place is set in farmland on the outskirts of Lousa and has great rustic charm. It is a good base for exploring the local area and is a very comfortable, quiet and relaxing place to stay. This is probably mostly to do with the philosophy expressed by Filipe (the son of the owners who met us on arrival): 'when you come through our gates you are at home'. Guests are genuinely trusted and encouraged to treat the property as their home. All the rooms are decorated with an individual theme, are comfortable and immaculately clean. The grounds are lovely with lots of places to sit quietly or to socialise with others. The pool is good for a cool off after a long day. Breakfast is simple but fresh and tasty. We also had dinner on one of our nights stay, enjoying fresh local cuisine and the company of some fellow guests. Highly recommended.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very well decorated room.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff very friendly and helpful. Pool area really relaxing. Liked the animals around us. The bar facilities really good and well priced. We enjoyed our balcony area.
Cons: The room was large and spacious but being over the garage there was at times a smell of petrol.

Pros: Very elegant hotel in an historical landscape. Rooms are specious, Comfy beds. Staff very helpful and kind. Menue lunce was tasty at reasonable price. The gardens were nice for an afternoon walk. Breakfast was very good.
Cons: The room we got at the begining had a bad smell of mold. We ased and got another room which was ok. The Coridor leading to the rooms on this sections were very cold. A very big bathroom but shower is in the bath tub and wasn't great. Heated pool at SPA was very dark.

Pros: Nice old house. Very friendly staff. Comfortable beds. Our family room was in the attic and only had a small window near ceiling for ventilation ( also had air conditioning so was comfortable) Separate bathroom down corridor had a fantastic view! Breakfast was very good.
Cons: There was no free parking on site as indicated on the website. Staff advised us where we could find free parking- had to drive a short distance to find it.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was very nice!
Cons: We would have liked a room with view. We did not realize this when booking that the room only had a ceiling window. The room had an exterior bathroom, which required a key to open and close from the inside. This was a bit difficult, as the key mechanism was not the easiest and with two children.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The superior suite was remarkable!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was great, a bit outside of the center but with a beautiful view and 15min walking distance to most main attractions. The room was light, spacious and clean. Simple but very pleasant.
Cons: The coffee at breakfast was very bad - instant coffee from a machine. Too bad, as breakfast itself was nice,
9.0 Excellent
Pros: + Stylish old house transformed into a hostel/hotel + our room was bright, with lots of windows + the bathroom was very spacious + good breakfast + a bit outside the old town, but still walking distance to all the main sights
Cons: - noise isolation was quite poor, so bring earplugs with you in case you are sensitive, as you will hear all the cars passing by on the street - parking is only available on the street and on weekdays you have to pay for it
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast, clean facilities, cozy areas, excellent location to sightsee and great staff
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Awesome breakfast included, nice bed and rooms. Everything was extremely clean and functioning

Pros: Front desk staff were very helpful and sociable, and did not fuss when we waited for our afternoon train in the lobby well after check-out time. Location is perfect, close to station but quiet, and just at the edge of the historic district. Lovely high-ceilinged room, was end of hallway so windows on two sides for a refreshing breeze. Breakfast was good, standard continental fare, nothing exceptional.

Pros: Coimbra is a marvelous & beautiful town; and the Vitoria is centrally located. Good value & well-run place. And breakfast was very good- lots of fresh and varied choices.

Beatrize sent me a long list of restaurant and ensure me that there are good restaurants open on Sunday. She also sent me directions on how to get the to hotel from the train station. When I arrived, she gave me details of the town, helped me plan my stay in Coimbra. I will definitely stay in this hotel again when I come back. .

Pros: I loved the staff. They were incredibly helpful and knowledgable about the area. The location is fabulous. A short walk to all the hot spots. I thought the room was clean and nice. It was quiet on our street.
Cons: My one problem with the place was that the walls seemed thin between the rooms. We heard our neighbor watching tv until about 4am. I managed to sleep through most of it but my wife was kept up.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was in the busiest time - new year eve, yet the hotel room was quiet and everything worked perfectly. The Spa was very nice. Services and treatment exceeded my expectations. I recommend taking superior room with the view on the river, especially in the winter time, it is warmer and with the wonderful sunset views.
3.1 Mediocre
Pros: Staff was very nice. Food was good but it it hard to find bad portugueses food.
Cons: Garage is terrible, dark, unsafe and lacks ventilation. Had a CO alarm while there and it was scare. Very bad engineering. One needs to manouver on the top of the exit ramp to get out. Location is very bad on a really rundown area of the city. Quite depressing. Rooms had very ugly. Carpet is ugly, dated and filthy. One has tô wheat sandals. Dryer was bad. TV was really bad as far as image quality. Beds and pillows were really bad. All furniture was of bad quality. Internet was ridículos. Scratchy signal and when working (very seldon) was worse than the dial up of the old times. And staff had no idea or solution. Once they suggested me to walk around my room to improve the signal. I ha 2 iPads and 2 two iPhones and some times no one could get a signal. the sad part is that this one is supposed to be the best hotel in Coimbra. I guess I will never visit coimbra again.
6.0 Good

Great for people who love to go running in the morning. Easy walk to either of the two train stations as well. Super comfortable bed!!!!
Cons: Breakfast buffet was a bit basic, but overall ok.

9.7 Excellent
Pros: Near the bus station. Easy to get in and out All the staff were very helpful. Room was great. Has a swimming pool.

Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a business center, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby. A roundtrip airport shuttle is available for a surcharge.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location good, room and bathroom compact but adequate for one night stay. However, we didn't sleep well due to noise until 2am made by staff, I presume, moving furniture... Be prepared to carry your luggage some distance as parking is on-street.
Cons: Noise downstairs someone dragging furniture until 2am. We heard it from the top floor. Inconsiderate... No parking, we had to park on the street distance away.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location good breakfast very nice staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff cordially and very helpful
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Value for money
Cons: Very small bathroom
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location of the hotel is excellent and at walking distance to major attractions in the historical center. The staff were helpful and very kind, no objection at all. Decent breakfast. WiFi connection and speed adequate. Airconditioning worked as it should. There are a couple of (cheap) restaurants on the same street right next door.
Cons: Breakfast was decent, but really nothing to write home about (few choices coupled to zero day-to-dayvariety), and they haven't heard of having salt&pepper available anywhere (this actually seemed to be endemic to all Portugal eateries that I have visited, rally strange). The room I was staying in was tiny. As a consequence: barely adequately big bathroom with minuscule sink. No wardrobe, no desk, no chair. therefore if you need to work, you have to do it on the bed! There was only one power outlet in the room beside the two for bed lights. No safe box or refrigerator in the room either. Since I was alone and stayed only for 4 nights it was OK, but for a couple staying in this double-bed room it would be crowded and if you need to do any serious amount of work - look elsewhere.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was walking distance to the historical sites and there is a bus stop in front which goes to Coimbra University. Cloae to parking areas and restaurants in safe area.
Cons: Nothing
7.0 Good
Pros: Fine in general.
Cons: Double room was too small.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The “viewpoint of silence” on the second floor offered a great view of Coimbra and the river. Very good breakfast. Comfortable room.
Cons: Lighting in bathroom very dull. Is in the old part of town at top of hill (just so that you are aware
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Enjoyed my stay at the Casa Pombal - it was interesting to stay in the old city, near the university. The hostess was lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful. Breakfast was good and it was excellent value overall. I opted for a room without a private bath, but that was never an issue and the sink in the room was nice. Good location, though it was a stiff walk up the hill to return!
Cons: Being in an older house is part of the charm, but it also means creaky floorboards and hearing everyone coming and going. Some guests could have been more respectful by not having conversations at midnight.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location for exploring key old university and city areas. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast.
Cons: Its an old property which has typical issues associated - a little damp although it was raining hard! Free parking a bit tricky.
7.1 Good
Pros: The location and cordial staff. Breakfast ok.
Cons: The room was ok but old. The matress was very good but a little bit small for 2 people.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were really welcoming. The rooms are simple but they’re just what you need. The bathrooms are always clean even though they are shared by all guests. Breakfast is good and there’s an emergency number you can call 24/7 if you have any problem
Cons: The location can be quite tricky if a guest has reduced mobility or is carrying luggage. My uber couldn’t leave me at the front door because there was a car parked a few meters from it and the streets are really narrow so my driver couldn’t pass, I had to walk my way up to the guesthouse

Pros: Really good location just a short walk from the prominent sights of Coimbra. Room was clean, modern well presented and had a very handsome view looking out at the university (particularly good at night). Staff were, friendly, helpful and readily available. And this came at a very affordable price. Would certainly recommend to others and when back in Coimbra again I will be booking to stay here.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location is excellent and staff very friendly and welcoming.
Cons: No kettle in the room and blankets rather than a duvet.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: What made this so good was the great advice we got from reception that allowed us to get the most out of our short stay. Slap bang in the middle of the old town - very clean and comfortable.
Cons: Being in the middle of the old town area - access is via a pedestrian only laneway. So make sure you check out google maps beforehand. But don’t let this put you off!!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a basic but well managed and located hotel. Staff are friendly and very helpful (gentleman covering the night shift underestimates his ability to converse in English while the daytime staff person is fluent) and it is a short walk (lots of it uphill, mind you) to the Universidade and the Sé. It is situated very close by the Coimbra A train station (note that trains to Porto and Lisbon go from B, a short taxi ride from the centre). The entrance is on a pedestrian street but they provide free parking at a lot close but we were able to park overnight on the street nearby.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Clean and modern. Simple.
Cons: Communication was difficult and strained
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fee parking in center of Coimbra
6.3 Good
Pros: I had an mechanical problem with my rent-a-car. A daughter of the owner kindly helped me to negotiate with Europcar Coimbra office.
Cons: The facility is located one of the best place for sightseeing with less money, but room was narrow, old and with minimum necessities. Breakfast was not good comparing with average hotels in Portugal with the same rank.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location walking distance from old town; decent breakfast;
Cons: No parking on spot (free parking offered in nearby car park)
7.0 Good
Pros: the staff is very very nice, available and they offers suggestions on the city
Cons: the room was on the first floor and during the night the light form outside arrives
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Easy check in. Rooms are basic but for the night we stayed it was perfect.

Pros: View was lovely
Cons: Access was difficult. Parking was far away and hard to get to.
7.1 Good
Pros: good place to find
Cons: no parking for car,no communication from staff
8.2 Excellent
Pros: The apartment itself was large enough for our family. It was clean and ready upon arrival. The location was incredible- you were within walking distance to everything. Wifi was included and the suggested places to shop and eat were helpful.
Cons: To get there by car took some courage considering the narrow roads. This property operated more like an AirBnB since we never met the owner/host.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Perfect quiet central location. Lovely terrace and fully equipped Appartment.
Cons: Perfect flat, apart from the comfort of one of the double beds. Towels need urgent replacing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A great location and stunning view.
Cons: That we didn’t have more time to stay!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good location
Cons: One bathroom for 8 people is not much
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Two comfortable arm chairs. Location is halfway up the hill to the University and its famous library. The main tourist strip is down below.
Cons: Noise from apartment above, but this did seem to stop after 10pm No tea or coffee provided and no indication of the make of capsule needed for the coffee machine.
5.8 Okay
Cons: Very smelly and moist, funghus inside the cupboards, no heater.

Overview Reviews
With a stay at CSI Coimbra Club & Guest House in Coimbra, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Santa Cruz Church and Coimbra University. Featured amenities include luggage storage and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very clean place, everything well organized, very quiet zone at night time. I definitely recommend this place to any one. I love it.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Linens were fantastic - especially the towels. Staff friendly and helpful. Quiet place.
Cons: A little far (and uphill on the way back) from attractions.
6.7 Good
Pros: The rooms are well equipped and the hostel itself is nice in terms of facilities and what it offers. Wifi is so basic though that it not working forced me to lower my rating for the facilities. It was generally pretty clean though
Cons: A lot actually, the self check in system meant we never got to encounter a single staff member till by accident we entered the kitched in the morning before checking out. The wifi didnt work at all, the ned was uncomfortable, the entire place was pretty much a ghost town, and granted we did arrive around 10, we still didnt see a single person in the morning. The whole experience was subpar at best, and honestly there were better options in the area, we chose this to take a break from airbnbs and get a more social experience, which we did not.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Room had everything what was needed, it was clean and the price was reasonable. I enjoyed staying in this place.
Cons: Place is located a bit far away from the city centre but I enjoyed walking so it wasn't a big deal to me.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly place. Good car parking.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Be prepared to get the full residence hall vibe! Entering the accommodation was pretty easy, just call the staff (phone number on the door) and they will open the door for you. Also you‘ll receive an email with alle the information about check-in, wifi, etc.. wich also means you can do the check-in at any time. The rooms are small and simple but clean and cozy, you‘ll find everything you need, even had my own bathroom en suite. I arrived with a car and was allowed to park it on the courtyard, wich is a big plus, but parking on the street around the hostel is also free. Location wise, you‘ll make your way to the university and the botanic gardens in just a few minutes by walking down the hill. Enjoyed staying there, would recommend especially for young backpackers/travelers.
Cons: The kitchen is used by a lot of people, mainly students, so don’t expect it to be as clean as your kitchen at home, but for preparing your breakfast it’s all fine As i said, there are a lot of young people/students living there, so be prepared to hear them talking and laughing till late at night
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It was great. Simple and quick check in. Very clean. The hostel looks nice and like small hotel with separate rooms for 2 people.
Cons: Crazy climbing to reach the hostel. Not perfect location. But not so far ftom down town.

9.0 Excellent
Cons: Staff was not very friendly and there was no atmosphere whatsoever

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location - we got a gorgeous view of the old Sé right from our balcony. The room was spotless. Staff were very friendly and accommodating to our needs. Very cheap laundry service. Breakfast and kitchen were both great.
Cons: Being right in the centre of Coimbra, it was quite noisey. Both Friday and Saturday nights it was impossible to sleep because students were having a large party outside the hostel (I should mention that the person on reception at 3am Saturday morning was wonderful in handling my half-awake requests). The bed was also really uncomfortable - both my girlfriend and I had quite sore backs each morning. Note that we were in a private room so I don’t know what the dorm beds are like.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Mainly used by studants. Very well located, in and a place that is full of history, and of night life as well.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and breakfast.

Pros: Beautiful lady was really kind! The facilities there are the best one compared with other hostel.
Cons: A little bit hard to find the location. Too hilly in Coimbra.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Efficient check-in; staff offered an upgrade to the premium floor (which cost more but was worth it to me for the view, small terrace, and more spacious and modern room); they also offered lots of information about the sights of the town. Location is just around the corner from the central train station, which was excellent in pouring rain; but it's also perfect for exploring the center. Good breakfast; the top-floor bar and lounge (with one of the best views of Coimbra) also offered a good limited menu at dinner. A great value, and a very welcoming place to stay.
Cons: My room was pretty cold; in an almost tropical rainstorm during my stay, I'm not sure it was warmer in my room than outside. In choosing to upgrade I also saw a room on a middle floor, which felt a bit small and dated, without much view across the street. So I'd recommend staying on a higher floor if possible, to take advantage of the great view toward the center of town.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very nice and helpful, well priced. great location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We booked a standard room, but upon arriving at the hotel the clerk already offered us to choose between this and a superior room on the top floor for a slight difference. we look at both and in fact the standard is pretty tight. We stayed with the balcony superior and it was excellent! Very comfortable room with a beautiful view of the old city. spacious bathroom. Location is fantastic! You don’t need a car for nothing! Not even a taxi. You can visit everything by walking. There’s a supermarket around the corner and a pharmacy right in front of the hotel. And a bakery and many typical restaurants nearby. Breakfast ok, on fifth floor looking to a gorgeous view from de old city. The reception staff are extremely attentive and helpful and will help you with absolutely anything you need!
Cons: I thought there might be better heating in the room, after all it was 9 ° C when we arrived and the next day. Also the bath was not so good because the shower was small but it was not a problem.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable, clean and well located. Friendly greeting staff. Room was small but OK. Great shower.
Cons: Nothing.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location, clean room, friendly helpful staff, even took care of parking our car. good breakfast. Paid extra to upgrade to room with balcony and view of city, worth the extra payment. Would stay again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very informative and helpful staff. Loveley view from rooftop terrace, especially by night. Multi choice breakfast.
7.1 Good
Pros: The location was very good. Walkable to the university and historic center. The front staff was good, one man in particular who I did t get his name. Hotel was clean and had a rooftop bar with good views.
Cons: The room we were put in was musty and the shower head was broken. They fixed the shower head but I realized the room was musty because the air conditioner/heating unit didn’t cool or dehumidify in any setting. It just blew warm air no matter what setting. So the room was terribly humid and uncomfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location at base of old town, close to restaurants but does mean a hike up to the university. Parking on arrival is in front of the hotel and your car is then parked for you. A great service. Room large and spotless, modern decor and views up to the university. Check in staff incredibly efficient and friendly. Great selection for breakfast.
Cons: Nothing
9.0 Excellent

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice clean place and lovely staff easy to get to everything by foot
7.0 Good
Pros: The balcony has great view, the bed was comfortable and the staff was cool.
Cons: It could be more clean. Below the bed it was too dirty. By the thing that actually I hated the most was the noise from the outside. The windows in the room have no capabilities to isolate you from the noise outside. Every time a car, or a motorbike or anything passed in the street, I felt it.
