Pros: Hotel is an excellent choice when visiting Dublin. It has excellent service, very clean, and good restaurant. Although it is not close to where most of the nightlife is there is an excellent local pub 2 blocks away and it is located on the local Luas light rail line which provides quick access to most of Dublin's tourist attractions.

Pros: The beautiful floors, lovely rooms with tea, hair dryer and iron and ironing board...all welcome when travelling. Our flight left early morning and because we would miss breakfast, they packed us a boxed lunch.
We did walk from O'Connell street and it is 20 to 30 minutes....but even with all our luggage it was fun.. A plus is that it is close to Heuston Sation and all excellent bus services. An unexpected treat for us was seeing The Dublin Zoo ( amazing) and The Pheonix Gardens....about 5 minutes away.

Pros: Everything was great. The hotel was comfortable, the breakfast was nice and the breakfast staff was very nice and welcoming but unfortunately I can't say the same about the front desk staff. The lady that served us upon arrival was very grumpy and had bad attitude. Then checking out we had another lady who also seemed to have bad attitude. So I guess its not a good start but otherwise hotel facilities are great.

Pros: 1st they are SO ACCOMODATING. Thanks to guest services, concierge DENNIS :-0 and the crew plus the front door attendants, managers, housekeeping are all amazing. Guest Service Rep came to greet us and had the goats milk avail for my daughter. In the USA we can only purchase at select store and did not realize it was more common to have in Dublin. We have made Dublin-the Shelbourne as our #1 headquarters. The quality of our stay, the fact they have vetted services for a nanny, great food, amazing polite service from all departments simply speaks volumes. Mr. Hanley and his staff at this fine establishment continue to amaze me. I really appreciate the peace of mind they bring to me and my little 1 and 2 year old children each visit. We surely feel special and love the amazing spacious rooms. THANK YOU ALL!! See you again next year.

Pros: This hip and edgy boutique hotel makes a boldly stylized statement with its' seemingly "Beetlejuice" inspired modernistic decor (that may not be for everyone), but we found it warm and welcoming. The 3 or 4 story Georgian inspired townhouse row is in a quiet neighborhood that's close enough to most attractions yet not too off the beaten path.

Pros: Location was really good and the place was very clean. If you wanted to eat meals at the hostel and spend a lot of your time there, it's a nice place for that, although overpriced as far as hostels go (even in Dublin). Definitely a party hostel but I was just surprised at how expensive it is.

Pros: Based on the price point we got it at, it was a great stay. We stayed in a 6 bed unit which was surprisingly comfortable.
The hotel bar was good, and great atmosphere while the Eurocup was on.
Overall the place was always clean, lots of staff around which was nice.
The demographic was crazy... People of all ages which was fantastic!
It couldn't be closer to Jameson.
Great bars and restaurants around it as well.
It's about a 15 minute walk to temple bar area.
10 minute walk to Guinness.

Pros: The hostel was very clean and well kept. Had a bar and cafe which made it much easy to find to find food and drinks. The food was reasonably priced. I don't see why I wouldn't use Generator again whether it was in Dublin or somewhere else.

Pros: I got upgraded to an all female ensuite room, which was fantastic, bright and big. All the bathrooms in the whole building were clean from what I saw, fantastic bar, friendly staff, loved my stay! Each bed came with a huge lockable storage box, if you didn't have your own lock they were 5 euro at reception.

Pros: The facilities are modern and relatively clean. Rooms are well maintained and mattresses are pretty comfortable. The bar area is nice and live music is a plus. Building and rooms are also secure. Swipe cards are required to go anywhere and there’s security at the door.

Pros: Fabulous value for the money. €52 for two people in a spotlessly clean double private room w bathroom. Right in Smithfield steps away from great restaurants, cinema, pubs cafes and live Irish Music. Right above the Jameson Brewery Tasting Rooms. Laundry facilities, on site pub and cafe and luggage storeage. Room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, warm and quiet. Felt very safe also.
Excellent

Pros: Easy to feel included and apart of something as a solo traveller. The staff and environment in general make the hostel have a home like feel.
Convenient plugs and lights with every bed.
Good food at breakfast and for lunch/dinner.
Close enough to walk to city center, temple bar area etc but far enough that you feel safe because you don't have to deal with drunk strangers, and the loud streets of the city centre.
Excellent
9.4
Pros: The staff here is absolutely wonderful and very friendly! You can ask for suggestions on places to go and things see and to do and they give out detailed descriptions on what you should expect to experience at each destination! The Night Staff was equally wonderful! To my surprise the night guards/security we're very friendly and helpful and happy to give good directions to near by places. The bartenders are cheerful, funny and have great suggestions for local restaurants and nightlife activities. The reception team is outstanding! They are warm and welcoming and available 24/7! They can help you with any delemas or concerns may come up during your stay. On my next trip to Dublin I will stay at the generator and the staff has a HUGE part to play in desire to book a room with the generator again!
"Located in Ballsbridge, this hotel is within a 15-minute walk of Aviva Stadium and Dublin Port. Bord Gáis Energy Theatre and Merrion Square are also within 1 mile (2 km). Dublin Lansdowne Road Station is 7 minutes by foot and Dublin Grand Canal Dock Station is 14 minutes. "

Pros: I stayed here with my wife and daughter the night before the Ireland / Argentina rugby international. We booked last minute and got a family room and they looked after us for a baby sitter. The place was busy and had a nice buzz to it. There was always a taxi outside and good on site parking. Breakfast was potentially chaos the next morning but the staff did a great job getting everyone through. Great value for money. Bar was busy but well staffed.

Pros: Super Friendly & Helpful Staff - Plus the front desk person remembered my name the Next Day. What a great way to feel valued as a guest, well done!
Convenient Location, a block from the bus station was the best. From there I could drop my bags and hit the shops and sights, which started just one block away - Perfect!
They have a sauna, pool table, library and other lounge in the basement. It wasn't well advertised, as everyone seemed to be on the main floor.
Great security - Key cards for every floor and room.

Pros: It was clean and tidy, the staff were helpful, lots of information available about Dublin and Ireland in general, catered for all ages and had facilities not normally associated with a hostel (sauna). It was within easy walking distance of the city centre, had a bus station and tram stops just up the road and was good value for money.

Pros: Great hotel. Nice and clean but pretty pricey considering all you get is the actual room. Call ahead if you have a car to park. We parked in Fleet Street parking as they advised and it gave us a reduced(but still pricey) rate for parking our car. Easy to find, wonderful staff. The “what I didn’t like” is more for extra info. Would 100% recommend this hotel and 100% stay in again if ever back in Dublin! Perfect location!!!!

Pros: The hotel is located on Dame Street which is directly in front of Trinity College main entrance and on the edge of Temple Bar District. Because we were staying for a week, we opted not to have housekeeping come in every day. The housekeeping staff left bundles of towels, shampoo and toilet paper outside our door to restock the room.
