Breakfast from 7.30 was too late for me. Prior to my arrival I asked the establishment if they could confirm the freakfast time and they never got back to me. I would not have booked breakfast had I known. The use of lockers was at an extra cost.
Comfy bed, I slept well both nights, privacy curtain, clean bedding. I stayed in a 4bunk/person room, other guests were quiet, respectful and considerate (they were longer term single travellers rather than large noisy groups). I appreciate that hostel staff accommodate the needs of guests travelling for work/study/longer term stays. Hyde Park is on the door step which is fantastic, outdoor sitting at the front which was nice. Basic breakfast, cereal and toast, good coffee. Nice sitting area and tv, so plenty of space to do abit of work/study
Lots of foreign kids (as it’s the summer holidays), swarming the breakfast area in the morning. Took a while to prepare any food. Overall the place is clean, bathrooms could do with abit more attention throughout the day tho. Only saw one microwave, a few more would be a good idea to reduce waiting times. Window in my room was sealed so no fresh air, air conditioning unit and too fans in situ. Lockers are extra, in my opinion they should be included in the price bth.
The location is good. 3 minutes walk to Hyde park and the Central line. The staff is nice.
The rooms were not great. There was a lot of people in them. I don't mind that but there is no space to put your stuff so everything ends up on the floor, and it gets very full. Also, the kitchen is far from enough to accomodate all guests. At the very least, they need another fridge. And if you are going to be so strict with labeling stuff, provide a marker. Also, some rooms don't have a window so the smell can build up.
The day staff were very pleasant and nice. There was one night staff who was very rude and obnoxious and did not want to be there.
Only the location, nothing else about the hostel!
Everything! Rude staff, only one unisex shower and toilet on first floor and I stayed in 4th! Had to go down to use the toilet everytime! Moreover the boiler was broken and they wanted us to walk to their sister hostel for shower which is located 3 blocks away! All the male staff were RIDICULOUSLY RUDE!
