Pros: I stayed at Rhea's with my three year old son and it was a wonderful experience. We had friends in town renting a house, but we were only staying for two days and one night and Rhea's couldn't have been a better choice for us. Not only did Tony help me carry in bags, he was super helpful, kind, and had a great conversation with my chatty son. We had breakfast next door at Rhea's cafe which was so convenient and even saw Tony there and met more of his own family. I would stay there again and again. It was a really great place.
Cons: I wish I could have stayed longer!

Pros: Convenient and clean
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed in many hotels and cottages through the years with our state to state family vacation traveling. But this is by far one of the best cottages we have ever stayed at for the price. We decided to travel to Rhode Island for a small vacation last minute and the prices for hotels and cottages varied greatly. East Island Reserve was affordable, listed as exceptionally clean, and near all the attractions we wished to visit. This cottage looked amazing from the internet but I was /still/ surprised by many things when I arrived. I'm going to tell the readers now, leave everything at home because there is nothing you will need. Small appliances, various cutlery, full arrangements of dishes, pots, pans, down to the dishwasher soap pods. That's not all. When I went upstairs, I thought we had 2 clothing closets. I opened up the first closet and was amazed to find a brand new Samsung stacking washer and dryer with detergent. This was the first time we didn't have to lug our dirty clothes home because we were able to wash them effortlessly and quietly on the day of our departure. Another favorite surprise was the bathroom floor was heated. We truly were left with everything we needed and then some. We had plenty of blankets, pillows, and toiletry items. Our bed was comfortable and we slept great. The internet ratings were true to what we had read, as we did receive an exceptionally cottage. We look forward to visiting again in the summer. Thank you for a great, comfortable, and stress free stay!

If you could please revisit that policy and see if you could accommodate your guest better in the future.

He was very patient with our grandchildren and made all of us feel welcome, especially in the lovely lobby....which became our living room!
5.8 Okay
Pros: room was ok, reffndlyception sta
Cons: patio door would not open. sink waste in bathroom would not close. housekeeping staff surely and aggressive, tried to get into our room twice before 9.30 despite being told no
6.0 Good
Pros: I liked that breakfast was included with room stay. Also good location close to everything in the area
Cons: The rooms, even my 3 coworkers, smelled musty. Probably needs carpet shampooed.
4.0 Okay
Pros: After the issue that is noted below I had to ask if they could offer at least drinks at the bar while we waited and there was no charge. They did also offer breakfast next morning.
Cons: I did not like the fact that our room was not ready. Check in time is 4pm and we arrived right before 5pm and we didn't get a room till 7pm. We were on a waiting list to be able get a room when we booked over two weeks ago. That was rough after a long day
7.4 Good
Cons: No breakfast included as other comparable hotels in the area, ie Howard Johnson. TV Remote control in room did not work well.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Staff
Cons: Room was musty with damp carpet. No convenient elevator to access replacement room offered.
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly, especially at the front desk, and the restaurant was convenient and offered good food. We also enjoyed the pool facilities which were heated and both indoor and outdoor. Overall the hotel was very clean, comfortable, and had a high quality feel. It's a place I would definitely stay again.
7.9 Good
Cons: Pool was very unclean.
7.5 Good
Pros: Breakfast was expensive for what you got. Location was perfect for my needs.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly greeting, spacious layout, quiet environment - and I wish there had been time to try the swimming pool!
Cons: Breakfast - not up to the standard of the light meal we had for dinner. It felt very pre-packaged and industrial, with the most watery milk I have ever been served along with (good) muesli.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We booked here on a whim not knowing the area all that well. I am so glad we did. The staff was incredible, the amenities were amazing, the Ocean view suite was amazing and you can''t beat the proximity right across from the beach.
Cons: Nothing bad to say whatsoever. Loved every minute of our stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: perfect location. view of the ocean from the room. just walk across the street and we were at the beach. 5 minute ride to downtown. electric bike rental 2 doors down. clean room. super friendly staff. the weather was perfect, which made it a perfect trip.
Cons: the bar/restaurant was closed for renovations. it would be nice to have a courtesy shuttle to go back and forth to downtown. uber and lyft are everywhere now, so was not that big of a deal.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location was great. It was nice that there was a minifridge and microwave in the room. The pool was nice too and the rooftop hot tub was cool!
Cons: The bathroom was dirty, there was a bunch of hair in the tub and it drained very slow! I was standing in inches of water while I was taking a 15 minute shower.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms and suites in newer building are very nice. The historic building rooms could use some freshening.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: I was not able to go outside of my room and relax, look at the ocean and smoke.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff. Room size, decor, ocean view. Pool, hot tub. Staff. Location near beach, walking/biking distance to cliff walk.
Cons: Room had random hot tub oddly placed to side of room. Food in hotel (only breakfast available to purchase in attached restaurant) and restaurants around the area was subpar. Recommend going to downtown area for food.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Proximity to beach was the best about this hotel.
Cons: The room was in the older building, which was small (I could open the door while laying in bed), the pillows were old and flat, but the worst part was the air conditioner, it was so loud that we were woken up everytime it got started.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff.
Cons: The rooms in the main building are just sub-par.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: They had white terry robes we could each wear, so fun for our kids to all be matching.Fantastic rooftop whirlpool. So fantastic spacious room with adjoining bathroom. Only issue was the hotel desk clerk did not have much info about the Cliff Walk shuttl

Our spacious suites feature windows that open to the ocean breezes and overlook Eastons Pond. All suites are furnished with King sized beds, with memory foam mattresses and also equipped with a microwave oven, refrigerator and coffee maker.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: great location at a fair price. always clean.
Cons: Bar next door can be loud. don't get a room on that side.
6.0 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Poor staff-had to wait at check-in for a longer then expected period of time, could not answer general questions. Reserved a king suite with water views, got a double room with views of the reservoir not ocean, and hotel was practically empty so no excuse for not receiving a king room I booked
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Across the street from ocean, 2nd Beach was a short drive. we use Lyft to go into town and walked back home. About a 1.5 miles from town.
Cons: The beds were 2 full beds (or smaller), instead of Queen beds. There was 4 adults. It is was a comedy show. Also the floor is Laminate instead of carpet due to sand. I had to wipe my feet off with a towel before getting into bed
7.0 Good
Pros: It was quiet and accessible
Cons: We were surprized to find after arrival that the swimming pool was in another building with only external access - in January. We were disappointed with the absence of recycling and the use of the worse type of plastic in the rooms and eating area.
7.0 Good
Cons: Other guests' (children) were inconsiderate and loud in the hallways. Not the hotel's problem...more on their parents.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location was great
Cons: Cleaning staff was slow. Elevators were slow and check in was a little clunky
7.9 Good
Cons: The pool was not heated
4.0 Okay
Pros: Location is perfect for us
Cons: Our first night we noticed brown water while filling tub. No rooms to move us to, so stuck with it. Maintenance did come to run the water for 30 mins to "clear it up" and we were given a discount * but, still, not a good experience of relaxing, comfort, or cleanliness.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: good vocation,good staffs!
5.7 Okay
Pros: The location, very close to downtown Newport and second beach.
Cons: The smell in the lobby on the first night was terrible.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Both the main room and bathroom were very spacious, especially for a room in this price range. Nicely appointed. Big windows. Nice cozy sitting area with view of ocean, a dining room table, as well as a spacious sleeping area.
Cons: The continental breakfast had all the usual things, multiple juices, hot drinks, pastries, breads and muffins, waffle maker, fruits, cereals. I am a scrambled eggs gal, and they were average.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is amazing!
Cons: Indoor pool was freezing

Pros: Cleanliness, fridge in the room.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: clean
Cons: rooms need a little work
7.1 Good
Pros: The front desk staff was helpful. The location was good for getting in and around Newport. Most of the room was clean.
Cons: The place was run down. The couch was stained, the woodwork needed touch-up paint, and more. The bed made squeaking noises when you sat down or moved around. The heating unit was noisy. The hotel was not very busy the Friday and Saturday nights we stayed there. We had a room on the first floor and the staff had people in the room above us. This is an older wooden two story hotel, so you hear the people above you as they walk around the room. They should have alternated the upstairs and downstairs occupation of rooms. The breakfast options were not very good. Eat breakfast somewhere else. When I checked out Sunday morning, there were newspapers available - however, they were for last Tuesday and Wednesday.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location on our route to Block Island Ferry. Free breakfast. Very comfortable beds. Helpful staff. Location adjoining small shopping area.
7.0 Good
Pros: I chose the location due to its proximity to Portsmouth Abbey. A very busy road, but the facility was quiet. The host gave us directions to a great fish market/casual restaurant that was exactly what we wanted for dinner.
Cons: The unit either above or next to us made loud noises that I think were related to the plumbing. Also, the remote for our television was very balky at changing channels.
7.9 Good
Pros: The price and the bed was comfortable.
Cons: The air conditioning did not work at night..only during the day..which made for an uncomfortable sleep.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very welcoming manager. For the price the room was much nicer than expected. New carpets and sofa. Very clean bathroom. Hot coffee at free breakfast. Great value!
Cons: No. The fact that there isnt an elevator isn''t a problem because there are plenty of stairwell entrances.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Easy check in Clean and spacious room Breakfast was good Close to the stores Friendly staff
Cons: Everything was nice
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Young man working the desk was very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean rooms and public areas Helpful staff good location .
Cons: Breakfast not as described in facilities listing . Might be because of off season stay .
5.7 Okay
Pros: Good location at a very good rate for the area
Cons: Breakfast was a little basic
6.3 Good
Pros: For the price we paid, very nice room.
Cons: Car needed to go to Newport. Rooms a bit noisy. Not event a slice of bread for breakfast, just bagels and pancakes.
