In the middle of processing my rental at the Avis desk, when I was picking up the car, the Avis computer went down. It ended up that they charged on my credit card twice for the car rental (but only once for the $200 security deposit). When I tried calling their billing, they could not find my rental and then they told me to call the Reno Airport Avis office, but the number they gave me only got me back to the same corporate automatic phone tree. Finally, there customer service office told me that it should work out when I returned the car. I returned the car yesterday morning as scheduled, but I still have not received the final bill.

I couldn't add my wizard number because I booked through Qeeq. So even though I could check in online for the car, I had to wait an hour in line to pick it up. Only one counterperson was on duty, and even once I got through that, the car wasn't available for another 20 minutes.

My drop off was at Circus Circus in Las Vegas. I was not given the exact location to where I would be park in the car and dropping off keys.. there is no indication that it should be dropped off in the second garage on the fifth level. I wasted about an hour and a half trying to figure it out, I called Avis customer service, and the guy was clueless, he suggested I just park it and leave the keys inside the car.
pick up was very inconvenient. Very long line (no other rental car counter had anything similar)

Courtesy-friendliness at counter needs to be improved. Asked me how many people will be in my group. I said just me, but I had rented a minivan. I feel most comfortable being up high. She said I would have to wait for my minivan but she would upgrade me… when I get outside to pick up my car… my “ upgrade “ was a FORD ESCORT. Seriously?! I felt ripped off, but I didn’t have the time to go wait another 45 minutes in line to argue the point. Left feeling taken advantage of

Nice car, easy experience but they tried to add a $30 junk fee that I had to wait in two different lines to get removed. It’s happened multiple times to me where rental companies add junk fees on top of the agreed upon price without telling the customer just to see if they can get away with it which is unethical.
Due to wildfire closing the route I was taking I needed to cancel for safety. Despite multiple routes of attemp, could not make contact with a real human at the site. Still waiting for response to get refunded. Will still use Kayak next time, just not Hertz!

As it seems with most rental companies hertz counter reps seem to have been instructed to try and fool you into buying something that isn't mandatory by saying there are "additional taxes and fees". In this case I had declined all additional insurance since I carry my own automobile insurance and credit card CDW. The hertz desk then took 15 minutes of me standing there waiting for a car to be lined up and then said I owed $50 more dolllars for additional "taxes and fees", this turned out to be their LIS or liability insurance. I asked what the additional fee was and they said it was taxes and fees and did not explain it was liability insurance. I then checked later to find this out. I initially tried to connect with support but just got an AI agent that never connected me with anyone. Overall this left a bad taste in my mouth and showed Hertz is using same deceptive playbook as most rental car companies with hidden fees.

I booked a reservation through Kayak for $93.50, but Hertz would not honor the price. They HAD the reservation, they simply wouldn't honor the price. The price they gave me was $166.13 and the person at the rental desk basically said "Take it or leave it". I had no choice but to take it since I had to be somewhere quickly

The shorter line than other rental companies made for faster pick up
First, I received my email with a confirmation number reserving my vehicle, a Pacifica minivan. Got to the counter and the employee stated my reservation was canceled. They had no more large vehicles to rent. I did not cancel my reservation. I was in a panic as I had three children to haul around plus adults. The employee was kind enough to go in the back to speak with someone and they found me an SUV. I feel I could have been given a break on my rate as the reservation some how was canceled.

The staff from the nice guy at the counter, the girl in the booth and the friendly return guy were all fantastic. The car itself had dings all over it. It was missing paint on the driver's door. It didn't have any floor mats. Carpet was ripped or slashed on the passenger side and messed up on the driver's side as well. We were running late for a dinner appointment when we arrived or I would've never drove off in that vehicle. On the plus side, it did get us from point A to point B.

Terrible experience. Will never use them again. We reserved a vehicle 6 months prior to travel. When we got there they only had a minivan for us. We had 6 people and a baby we were going into the mountains to ski and they could only provide a front wheel drive minivan when we ordered a luxury SUV with four wheel drive. I went over to enterprise and they took care of me

The vehicle I booked was not actually available. I called the day before when I received an emailed showing a 7 passenger instead of a 12 passenger van. After speaking with 2 different people, 2 different phone calls and over an hour - mostly on hold. They promised me it would be resolved and it was NOT!
