Fujiwara Ryokan - Nagasaki - Building
1
9.1 Excellent (260 reviews)
S$ 116+
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Fujiwara Ryokan in Nagasaki, you'll be within a 10-minute walk of Twenty-Six Martyrs Museum and Monument and Megane Bridge. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fujiwara Ryokan is about 4 minutes walking from the closest streetcar stop and 10 minutes from Nagasaki station. I booked without breakfast and had two different japanese style rooms with shared bathroom and toilet. Both rooms were in very good condition, very clean and spacious with a porch separated by sliding doors where one can hang clothes and store luggage. But most of all I cannot praise enough the hospitality and friendliness of the people that own and run that place. They have made me feel most welcome and at home.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The place was not full on the day we arrived so we got to check in a little earlier. There is no lift to get upstairs though, and to get to reception you'll need to walk up a flight of stairs. There are facilities like coin laundry but it's available until 2130 only. In the room, there's lots of hangers to hand your outerwear and towels. Overall the place is cosy, and very well maintained. Not sure if this last bit is necessary but keys turn the other way.
Cons: In the room, I was a little disappointed that there was no electric kettle to boil water. Only a small thermos containing hot water is provided. It doesn't have enough to make some instant cup noodles. :(
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent everything. Good service and friendly. It feel likes my home.
Cons: None.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A lovely, quaint Japanese Ryokan run by a gracious and extremely friendly 'older' gentleman. Situated in an excellent location between the hubbub of the Nagasaki Station area and the bustling Chinatown. The traditional Japanese accommodation was both comfortable and spacious.
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Nice place, like home, very Japanese home stay experience Host is very nice!
Cons: not very near station, but it's quiet place, so it's acceptable! if carrying luggages, be prepared for the steps to the room.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great hosts, clean and good facilities. We felt very welcome and comfortable. One of the best places we stayed in this price range.
Route - Nagasaki - Bedroom

8.9 Excellent (302 reviews)
S$ 54+
Overview Reviews
With a stay at ROUTE in Nagasaki, you'll be just steps from Twenty-Six Martyrs Museum and Monument and 13 minutes by foot from Megane Bridge. Featured amenities include a computer station, luggage storage, and laundry facilities.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The person in charge is friendly and nice
Cons: Our room basically a converted basement
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The place is clean, comfortable, and modern/chic. The staff were very friendly as well. The breakfast that they serve for 500 yen is quite good.
Cons: Usually I don't mind carrying luggage up stairs, but the stairs to the entrance to the hostel are pretty narrow and somewhat steep, so beware for anyone traveling with big or numerous luggage. It also doesn't help that they're located on a hill as well, though the incline is not that bad. The space is also kinda space altogether, so you won't get much personal space, though there is a rooftop where you can chill.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice and friendly staff.
Cons: A guest who snores.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really friendly staff. Really close to JR Nagasaki station so an easy walk with my luggage. Opposite the 26 Martyrs Display. Great breakfast and comfy bed/cabin/capsule. Would stay again.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: A nice stay. The location near station was good (even though you had to walk up to a hill, but that's what Nagasaki is like.) Room design was nice, it allowed a lot privacy for a dorm room. Friendly staff - extra thanks for letting me use my broken Japanese :) The breakfast was really tasty and the cafe had nice atmosphere.
Cons: Some information on the walls was not updated and also the staff couldn't answer all the questions very well. But they tried, and that's most important. It was a bit unconvenient that you had to order the breakfast before 8pm in the night before, but I understand it in this kind of small place. More expensive than most hostels I've been in Japan.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really good location at just 5 min on foot from the station. Very friendly staff and very cosy. The privacy solution for the rooms is great. Everyone gets their own “cubicle” with a lockable screen. Bed and sheets were comfy, shower was lovely with daylight shining in through frosted glass. Small kitchenette if you wanna cook. I took the breakfast option. Got a lovely freshly made sandwich with ham and vegetables. Would recommend this place.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good location, friendly owner and staff Nana and Aya.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: The kindness of the staff, even though few spoke English, every single member of staff I met made sure I was having a nice stay. The amazing view. The big room. The onsens. The dinner (since there is no restaurant around, you should definitively go for their dinner plan). This is one of the best place I stayed. I'll recommend to anyone travelling to Nagasaki and wanting to experience a high class Ryokan.

Pros: Excellent night view in the room. We don't need to take the cable car to the hill top. Excellent breakfast. Very nice staff attitude. Very clean.
Cons: Small toilet room. Old shower tub and shower room without window. Schedule of shuttle bus can be more frequent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wow! The view from the room was amazing both at night and during the day. You can see the whole of Nagasaki. The room was large, beautiful and well equipped with a lovely bathroom. The staff were very friendly, helpful and could not do enough for you. Great Japanese breakfast and the onsen is incredible, again with a view right over Nagasaki. An very memorable stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was fantastastic, as was the onsen. Especially the outdoor view from the top of the mountain whilst bathing, absolutely unforgettable.
Cons: The shuttle bus couldve come and gone more often, and more information provided about it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful views of Nagasaki bay from room and Japanese baths. Manager and staff were all so friendly and helpful, providing English maps (even of walking route down the hill into town). Japanese breakfast was very authentic, although challenging to some Western tastes at 8:30am, but coffee and juice offered as well.

10.0 Excellent
Cons: Everything
4.0 Okay
Pros: The double bed and pillows were comfortable.
Cons: Hotel was soulless and impersonal, seemed to me to be geared towards business men. Airless corridors. Staff very preoccupied and focused on their work to hand. Room was small small, which wasn't a problem for me but in the small available space there was a great big heavy armchair with a heavy electronic foot/leg massager. To open the wardrobe or sit at the desk chair - even to get out of the bed! - they had to be rearranged.
7.5 Good
Pros: the breakfast is ok
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Shopping area just at downstairs, very convenient
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location are good and easily accessible.. can have lots of restaurants within vicinity.

Cons: Dark wood furniture showing wear.

A train station pick-up service is provided at no charge, and free valet parking is available onsite.
7.1 Good
Pros: Great location, great and spacious rooms
Cons: Restaurants all closed but two, very average to poor food, no one spoke fluent English, with the result that even getting food was difficult, 5 star price for 3 star service and actual facilities, as what is promised in not there.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: My third stay and love every minute. Tenku restaurant is a must. Normally stay in the Royal Terrace but would consider staying in Tower Cottage. Staff are brilliant and welcoming.
Cons: Nothing negative to say
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Good sized rooms and free use of lounge area. A great view of the harbour. There is an outdoor pool but we didn't use it as it is winter! The staff were extremely helpful and went above and beyond to help us with travel arrangements.
Cons: It is a little far from Nagasaki station (about 13 mins by taxi, ¥1500). There is an hourly station but that was not obvious from the website.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The view from the room is excellent! Day and night views are both splendid. Worth a stay.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Architecture of the resort (Kengo Kuma) very elegant. Swimming pool is nice asset and view of the bay by night really nice. Breakfast in typical Japanese room is unique (but small portions).
Cons: Structure is isolated from everything so for dinner either you stay at the (rather expensive) hotel restaurants or better dine in town. Some devices are not working properly (radio amplifier doesn't connect by Bluetooth) and for others like TV instructions should be added. Staff are friendly but bit cold and inpersonal. The resort is big but didn't seem full so it appeared spooky at night.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location, restaurants, facilities, service, room design but most.of all THE VIEW
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff, room, food and services outstanding. Enjoyed nespresso on balcony watching boats. Worth taxi to stay in peaceful environment. Shuttle available as option to taxi.
Cons: Nothing Expensive but worth it
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I guess best choice in Nagasaki. Beautiful views and excellent restaurants. Rooms are very spacious and very well equipped. Very good beds.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner is so friendly and nice. Although the place is a little bit different to find, but comfortable and cute. It’s near the Jinja ,so very special place to stay.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Cozy house located next to a shrine in a beautiful area. Offers simple breakfast and tea/coffee. When in weekends, the house is filled with Japanese chatting in the living room and it’s almost like you’re living with a big family. Very nice hosts.
Cons: Bunk bed making a bit of noise. No hot water on 2F.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The couple who owns this guesthouse are so lovely! It was a pleasure to stay in their guesthouse. They really take their time for you and are open for having nice conversations. And even tho you stay in a city, the location of their guesthouse is really beautiful and quiet.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very family-like accommodation. Owner and his wife shared one evening with us talking about customs/culture and it was very lovely and most informative. Surrounding of property is very nice. Both owners have good English (especially for japan). Its less than 20mins from train station of foot (lil bit over 30mins with loaded backpacks).
Cons: Its kind of harder to find (check mail/messages - owner sends good guide that we have missed until next day).
7.9 Good
Pros: Very polite owner
Cons: A wee way away from the main attractions but cable car station nearby.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Yukari, the owner's wife came daily to check on me to see how i was doing. So if you are a alone, this place makes you feel at ease. Stayed in the female dorm. It is absolutely a great and comfortable place to stay. Hope to be back next year to explore more of Nagasaki. Met many wonderful people in Nagasaki. First trip this year where i am saddened to leave for my next destination.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: From outside it looked like a nice little japnese inn.
Cons: Grumpy owner, a bit far from the city center, no parking spaces nearby, very thin walls, we couldnt sleep until 1am and from 6.30am because of our only neighbors, toilet with a brown furry cover to make it as unhygienic as possible, but the worst about the accomodation was the moldy smell everywhere which makes the place essentially uninhabitable. The inn should be closed and completely renovated for health reasons. All our clothes and luggage smelled like mold for days after our 9 hour-long stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location, simplicity, and no noise environment. Also, the hosts of the guest house were super nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The welcome and hospitality of the hosts and our lovely room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Incredibly friendly and knowledgeable hosts. We went for the Kunchi and our hosts told us all about it, which was very helpful. It is very well situated and I would recommend to anyone travelling to Nagasaki!

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hostel Casa Noda, you'll be centrally located in Nagasaki, within a 10-minute walk of Nagasaki Dejima and Twenty-Six Martyrs Museum and Monument. Featured amenities include multilingual staff, luggage storage, and laundry facilities.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is easy to understand. The staff are friendly. The kitchen is easy to use. The positional relationship between the living room and the dormitory room is good. A locker next to the bed is convenient.(A small rucksack is included)
Cons: The bed mat is too soft for me. The dormitory rooms are a bit noisy.
7.5 Good
Pros: Conviviality due to the small open kitchen and the comfortable salon with sofas. Small living room and a little old but not so small compare to some others. Enough to have some privacy for some want and enough for the others to talk and establish beginning friendship. It was the case for me and I was happy to meet interesting peoples. For me it’s the definition of hostel with free stockage and in Japan not so common. Staff nice and helpful and knowledgeable specialy nice tall Japanese guirl (I don’t know her name) Location close to terminal bus and jr station and ferry. So ferry convenient Good quality price for Nagasaki maybe cheapest one compare to the location (casa Blanca same owner than casa noda
Cons: Check out at 10 am ! But possibility to do at 11am if you ask in advance Breakfast for me not really breakfast (even in French toast and jam and coffee an yea it’s usual) but in Japan I was expecting different more Asian style. Check out at 10 am ! But possibility to do at 11am if you ask in advance Breakfast for me not really breakfast (even in French toast and jam and coffee an yea it’s usual) but in Japan I was expecting different more Asian style.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Really cute little place! The location is good, right near downtown Nagasaki centre and close to many things. Really cosy beds with private curtains around each one so you don't even notice that you're staying in a room with many other strangers-it feels really comfortable and cosy and quiet. The bathroom/shower room were really nice, too.
Cons: There is no elevator and quite a few stairs..if you have large or heavy luggage it could be quite a handful trying to get everything up there.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location was great and the staff was nice.
7.1 Good
Pros: Location, really close to jr station and nice staff and easy to get the most interesting and important sites in Nagasaki, like peace memorial Park by streetcar n. 1 and dejima by walking a few minutes.
Cons: No elevator at all, it makes the whole stay really uncomfortable if you have a big luggage to bring with you until the third floor.
4.6 Okay
Pros: The location is perfect. Tram station is almost in front, Nagasaki Station (main) is just a stop away. This is where you get your ride to everywhere. There is a mall, restos, a food court, souvenir shops and luggage lockers. The major sights are just a few tram stations away. Very convenient.
Cons: The rooms doesn't quite match the photos. We had the smallest space for three people. Going up on 4th floor on steep stairs with luggage is difficult. Free breakfast is bread w choice of 2 jams and instant coffee or tea, good to start your day. This is located in a small building with other tenants. Good enough for a night but not for extended stay.

Pros: Excellent location that near by Nagasaki station and in front of a hotel has elevator. The room has more space for unfold the luggage.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff. Excellent service. It’s a 2 minute walk to train station, trams and buses. Although it’s just opposite train station, it’s very quiet. We were sorry to leave. Definitely recommend booking this.
Cons: Absolutely nothing. If you’re visiting Nagasaki, just book this.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It is just opposite the JR station and mall. Lift is just in front of the hotel. Tram station , convenient store, restaurant are there. Big room !
Cons: No
9.2 Excellent
Pros: 1. Location - this hotel is right across the street from Nagasaki Station. We used the elevated walkway right in front of the hotel to get to the train station/ stores. There is an elevator on both ends that we used when we had luggage. 2. Friendly staff - staff at front desk were friendly and helpful. You can buy 1 day tram pass from them. 3. Location 2 - there is a grocery store on the ground floor in the same complex as the train station which was handy for buying drinks, bento, snacks. There are restaurants on the top floor of the department store at the station. 4. We paid 800 yen which was reasonable for a buffet breakfast. Not a large selection but enough for us. There is a wider array of Japanese food than western food.
Cons: The beds were a good size, however they were too hard for me (though hard beds might be the norm in Japan). The pillow was hard as well, however the hotel can give you softer pillows on request.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location near train station
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Superb location, just a minute walk to tram station, and two minutes to JR train station. Elevator is just in front of the hotel, so worry-free for heavy suitcase carrier. The staffs were polite and try to assist us anyway they can. Breakfast was plentiful and yummy, large dining area provided.
Cons: Small room, so traveling with big suitcase could be troublesome. The payment with VISA Travel card was not working properly, the only place that I could't use my Travel card for this trip (been using it 16 times for hotels, JR office, shops, etc.).

Pros: Location, facilities and staff are fantastic! Would book again!
Cons: Bus stop information at Nagasaki Eki could have been communicated more clearly. A map was provided as an attachment to emails but this was easily missed in all the information. A mention and a link to that map in the body of the emails would have been helpful.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff (especially the nice driver for the resort shuttle bus). The facilities are very thoughtful and tastefully designed which make this a remarkable stay.
Cons: Nothing. Only regret is not staying longer.
7.5 Good

Cons: Location was too far albeit the views were superb.

Cons: The location is a bit far from downtown Nagasaki.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: More like a resort. Had many different hotels that made up i+land nagasaki. Stayed in Kaze hotel portion. Large sized room. Nice onsen bath. Included dinner was great, a multi course meal. Delicious.
Cons: Dated room which could do with an update but otherwise, great stay.

Pros: The room and it’s facilities are Super clean and nice. I could just stay in the resort whole day to chill and relax
Cons: It’s quite a distance away from Nagasaki town.. would be a problem if you do not drive and also quite tiring if you do as it’s quite out of the way
7.1 Good
Pros: Resort feeling
Cons: Beach on the crowded season

Pros: Overall nice & accommodating with great breakfast & nice share bath area.
Cons: My brother room & our room, need better cleaning - dust under the bed & his restroom a bit dirty
4.8 Okay
Pros: Laundry room
Cons: Overpriced room for $145/ nite, the bed so small for 2 people and room so small even to pass. Only can lay out 1 luggage. Bathroom is dark, low ceiling with a weird plastic Tank near commode. I found much nicer room in other Nagasaki hotels than my room. Room has no cofee sugar amenities provided.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Accessibility. Presence of spa is a pleasant surprise. The free ramen definitely is a welcoming gesture. Hahaha
Cons: The carpark does not accommodate my Toyota wish. And I had to drive to a nearby carpark instead

Pros: Hot spring within the hotel
Cons: Room small for two
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful. Coffee was good. Room was spacious and clean.

Cons: Nothing
7.9 Good
Pros: Very nicely located hostel with a very friendly owner.
Cons: Our room was a bit worn and damp, as evidenced by a mold on the ceiling. While comfortable, the room was a bit cramped and could use some new paint.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice kitchen
Cons: Could do with some room updating
5.0 Okay
Pros: The staff was very helpful
Cons: There were many dust inside the room and the shower function was not good
6.0 Good
Pros: The staff was really nice and helpfull !
Cons: Waoh I don't get how this hostel is so well rated ...! The confort in the twin room was ridiculous: the higher bed is hardly more than a wood board with a matress like a paper sheet, and the bottom bed was the juxtaposition of smaller matresses in which we cool feel every spring. I know the staff is great and clearly that's what we are buying, because for the same price we can have a way better business hotel in term of confort.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Warm welcome, the staff was really friendly. The rooms were perfectly clean, bed with plug and enough space for the luggage. Excellent location in the City. It was one the best hostel I have ever been in.

7.1 Good
Pros: Great location, great and spacious rooms

10.0 Excellent

Pros: Front desk service was very professional and efficient. Strongly recommend a room with Harbour View - the night view of the city is worth it! Also, good breakfast buffet choices.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Mountain view over look the city
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is high above the city with great views - walking distance down into town (if you enjoy steps and wandering through the local housing) but not with luggage up hill. However, the courtesy bus to and from the station is on time and quick. The room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast buffet had a wide range of options including some Continental - perhaps a bit costly but you are also paying for the view from the 8th floor. Staff were very friendly. The coffee/tea sitting room on the ground floor provides decent free coffee all day.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Spacious hotel with excellent friendly staff in a great location.
Cons: Onsite parking was ¥1500 per night, but typical for this city.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the nostalgic feel of the hotel. The spacious rooms are a bonus! The lobby is grand! Loved the antique furniture that makes this hotel unique. Family mart convenience store is connected to the hotel and there is a bakery too. Hotel is just a short walk from the JR Nagasaki station.
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent. The view from the restaurant was splendid. The room was good and the lobby impressive. We were pleased that we were able to dispose a broken suitcase without any problem from the management. They were very pleasant about that.
Cons: Everything was ok. No complaints or bad feeling.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great view, near Nagasaki station but a bit far from the other spots but its so easy to visit the city with the tramway (streetcars), ask the reception desk for a pass. The Japanese restaurant of the hotel is also very good.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Big room, not a pre-fab bathroom, good view. Combini in lobby
Cons: A bit far from everything, but still walkable from train station. There is a team stop in front of the hotel, but you have climb stairs (overpass) to reach it.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great place to be. Comfortable and have a nice view. Convenient location.
Cons: Parking was not free.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Brilliant breakfast. It catered for both Japanese as well as western tastes. The service in the hotel was the best we experienced whilst staying in hotel in Japan. The staff were both friendly and efficient. They even took our cases up to our room as we had turned up before check in time. The hotel was beautiful and very grand. Very close to the station and not far from restaurants and shops. There was a tram stop directly outside the hotel as well.
Cons: The only thing was the pillows were a bit hard, but apart from that we could not fault anything.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were a good size for Japan and location was great for visiting Peace park and museum.
Cons: Breakfast was very expensive even by Japan standards.

7.0 Good
Pros: Great location - close to Nagasaki Station. The facilities were pretty good. Would happily recommend this hotel to others.
Cons: The pillows are relatively hard and the bed (double) is smaller than what we're used to but this seems pretty standard in Japan (at least the places we've been to).

Pros: The best thing about this hotel is the great location next to Nagasaki train station. There is a shopping mall right next door.
Cons: We had a rental car and the parking garage is EXTREMELY difficult to get to. I would probably not stay here again only for this reason.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Just next to the train station which is especially good if you have an early train to catch. There is a streetcar station next to the hotel that connects to all parts of the city.
Cons: Breakfast choices for local Japanese food are quite limited.
7.1 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Parking for guest is not free
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is one if the best hotel that I have stayed at. It is comparable to any 5 star hotel in the US,. The entire facility from lobby to room is top notch. The location is right next to the hotel and has tram lines and buses located in front of the hotel. The shuttle bus stop to Mt. Inasayama is also located in front of the hotel. AMU plaza a shopping mall containing restaurants and food stores is next door..
Cons: Absolutely nothing.
7.5 Good
Pros: Room was much bigger than most Japanese hotels
Cons: Breakfast was mediocre, room for improvement. Bed mattress was not ideal, my wife complained of back pain after one night's rest.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Greatest location ever, only 3min walking from the main train station. Budget friendly hotel close to tram lines which are connecting all major attractions in this awesome town!
Cons: Laundry drying machine takes forever to dry it properly...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: When we first saw the building from the train station we thought we might have made a mistake in picking the hotel. It is extremely convenient for tourists to see the city. We stayed for two nights. We think it is a four star hotel with all its amenities, cleanliness, and newness except in SIZE. It had everything in a 10x10 ft. Room and a small toilet and shower/bath room. Since we stayed two nights we experienced the cleaning staff, they did an incredible job. It was not difficult to accommodate to the size issue when you consider the PLUSES. We will pick APA hotels again.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The location is excellent!
Cons: The mattress and the pillow is too soft and the hotel management should provide some English class to staff.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Was very small, and seemed run down. But value for money was good, with a pub right downstairs!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All was cool!!! thanks !!
4.2 Okay
Pros: Staff was friendly.
Cons: There was a far right political pamphlet in the room ("theoretical modern history") which makes unsubstantiated claims about history. This is no appropriate The hotel even denied Japanese responsibility for world War 2 (and its atrocities) in an official statement. That is deeply offensive to all victims of the war in Japan and abroad.
7.7 Good
Pros: Location and price. It was very good accommodation just to have a place to sleep over. Staff was very nice too. Price is very reasonable. For price I paid the place is more than what I expected
Cons: Smoking floor was very stink in room and the floor for non smoking guest, glad I had diffuser and oils to Pirify the air!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is very convenient
Cons: Nil
7.1 Good
Pros: Proximity to station and bus terminal
Cons: Flat pillows, small elevator
