On 50th Street between Broadway and 8th Avenue, Amsterdam Court Hotel is within walking distance of Times Square, Central Park, Rockefeller Center, the Museum of Modern Art, Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall, and dozens of other NY attractions.
Pros: The price was unbeatable. I loved the location and I was worried that it might be a typical cheap 2/3 star hotel off-Broadway but I was impressed with the updated decor and cleanliness. I also like the lounge area and the staff was amazing and extremely courteous. Even the cleaning people asked me how I was doing and if I needed anything every time I walked by! Assuming the price is right I would stay here every time.
No hot water in the showerPros: Other than the cold shower, we did not have any complaints.Cons: When I went to take a shower around 11 PM, I was very disappointed to find that there was no hot water. When I mentioned this to the front desk employee upon checking out, she was very unsympathetic. This really ruined our experience at this hotel. I expected more considering the price.
The only good thing was locationPros: Location. It has 3 metro lines close to itCons: Staff was useless. The rooms were dark and gave me allegies. The windows small and with no light.
Pros: Staff really made a difference. Extremelly helpful! Than you
Pros: The reservation was cancelled by Tourico Travels, who relocated us to another hotel (Best Western). A bit weird but Best Western was ok and the location was perfect, two blocks from Time Square.Cons: The fact that we were not informed about a hotel change ahead of time.
Good value for ManhattanPros: Last minute stay, so I was definitely looking for something not too expensive. Since it was a Sunday night, I think i got a good deal. Not sure how expensive it is during peak times though. Close to Times Square. Room was modern and sleek, comfortable bed linens. Cons: Shower drain didn't drain well so took a shower in two inches of water. It was just me, and I was taking a quick shower before I got on a plane, but if I had been sharing the room with others and taking multiple showers, or for a longer period of time I would have complained.
it's proximity to Times Square means it's noisy during the day, but was surprisingly quiet at night.
Curtains hung over the air conditioning unit, so you had to decide whether you wanted cool/white noise of the a/c unit or darkness of the curtains.
Pros: Great location, recently renovated, remarkably quiet, a decent valueCons: Overall the room was very clean, but the headboard looked like someone had smashed a pot of coffee on it.
GratefullPros: Loved it how they were available for early check-in after a long night of traveling. Thank you!Cons: The last night of my trip there was extra noise from outside... of course it was a construction going on around 2AM.. not the hotels fault but still kind of not wanting to close out on vacations that way..
Great location Pros: Great location just off Times Square, bed was very comfy an very big, got upgraded to superior king for our honeymoon, ice machine free tea coffee when required nice staff...Cons: Abit old fashioned could dovwith new carpet throughout and a lick of paint... Also could do with getting safety deposit boxes into bedrooms
