9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room is clean and the bed is comfortable
Cons: Add more foods to the breakfast buffet.
5.8 Okay
Pros: I enjoyed the cleanliness of the room, the staff for handling bags was very nice and complemented me on my Japanese speaking.
Cons: The bed was too hard, lack of comfy pillows were provided, so I didn't sleep well at all, the AC was not strong the room was hot even in October, to many Japanese the toilet doesn't have a traditional handle to flush so be prepared for confusion on how to flush, being that there is no "flush" kanji/button but a square handle to flush the toilet, they would not let tattooed persons enter the Onsen even IF they are guests at the hotel, (not even foreigners you've be warned) I expected more from this hotel being a guest for the price I paid.
8.8 Excellent

Pros: I like the room and beds
Cons: I didn’t like the window not opening as it was too hot in the room. The tv should have international channels as well as Japanese

Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Big space for bathroom, this is very unusual in Japan. Very nice!

2.0 Mediocre
Pros: The location and staff were great.
Cons: I had to leave 4 days early. The hotel charged me 50% of the remaining days. I will never book there again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location and facilities
Cons: Nil
5.0 Okay
Pros: Beautiful and charming western style building that backed up directly to the water
Cons: Property is old. Carpet is run down, everything inside needs to be updated. Good luck finding more than one outlet to plug in your phone/accessories. Distance from parking area requires a shuttle and you need to schedule an appointment if it’s outside of normal operating hours. PARKING IS NOT FREE. Definitely not worth the outrageous amount per night versus other hotels in huis ten Bosch or especially to those in sasebo city. If you are looking to stay in sasebo city this is a 45 minute drive on a toll road into the city proper. Do not stay here if you think you are staying in sasebo!
4.6 Okay
Pros: The Japanese restaurant down the street
Cons: They serve whale meat in their main food outlet, this alone means I will never stay there again or recommend them. The old style building needs maintenance, the room was tired, the halls smelt dank.
7.9 Good
Pros: Room is big and comfy. Twin room is just right for two adults and one big boy.
Cons: Quite expensive
7.9 Good
Pros: Special thanks to MR.KO , he was helpul and so professional.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view was spectacular and the property was within walking distance of a national park... also with amazing views. I also enjoyed the hot spring. I would absolutely recommend this property and will try to stay here again.
Cons: The buffet had many options but some of the seafood did not taste very good, perhaps because it was out for a long time. The roast beef was very good. More info about the property written in English would also be helpful.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location is good for the view and the hotel is pretty.
Cons: It is very difficult for us to drive to the hotel at night (around 7-8pm). The road is kind of dark so be careful if you drive.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Clean
Cons: There was another party which were 20 drinkers. They talked loud and yelling. I paid a lot of money and ruined our family dinner.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Unique location on the top of a hill. Fantastic view! Great base to explore the area.
5.4 Okay

Overview Reviews

7.5 Good
Pros: Silently and comfort
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent value for money. Spacious cosy house: the place sleep up to 4 people but still cosy for couples. Quiet surroundings to take a break after a day at the theme park. Staff are helpful with impeccable Japanese hospitality.
Cons: Mattresses probably seen too much mileage and will require replacement soon. Hotel might consider separate vehicle arrangement for guests as the location is quite far from the train station and the theme park shuttle bus tends to be overcrowded at checkout times.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I was surprised that it was a little cottage with with an upstairs and downstairs. It had two toilets and a large shower. Fantastic view from the back porch! Breakfast was fabulous, lots of great things to eat! I also appreciated that the food allergens were labeled, making food choices easy for the two people in my group with allergies! Hotel gave us breakfast, tickets to HTB, meal coupons, and a quick pass!
Cons: It was expensive.
Quintessa Hotel Sasebo - Sasebo - Building
9
8.0 Excellent (1,316 reviews)
S$ 126+

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
4.5 Okay
Pros: The location was great. It’s right in central Sasebo next to Ginza where you can do all your shopping
Cons: The room was small for the price, bed was like sleeping on rocks. I had a previous guests washing rag left hanging in the shower with hair. For $110 per night this was NOT a very comfortable room. The parking advertised was always full so you had to use the parking structure down the street or if there where spots open at the entrance it was a very tight fit (I actually chipped paint on my door trying to get out next to the wall)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Front desk Staff was smiling
Cons: I had to leave at 5 AM to catch the bus for Nagasaki and coul not eat breakfast. Perhaps I could have swapped my breakfast voucher for a few sandwiches and a bottled drink as a take out breakfast bag?
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice view, friendly staff, clean room, close to the shopping street
Cons: They said their own car park is full and ask to park nearby, also the room a bit outdated.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: The room was big enough and breakfast was okay.
Cons: The bathroom is dusty and too much molds. The window is not sealed properly so you can heard the wind whistling if the weather is not good. I'm not satisfied of what i paid after i saw the bathroom too dirty.
6.7 Good
Pros: location is very good
5.0 Okay
Pros: It looks high class on the outside
Cons: The inside have to much markings and stains that needs to be clean
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was very conveniently located close to the base and the shopping area.
Cons: The pillows. The pillows are Japanese (which only makes sense since the hotel is in Japan) but they are made of a rougher material than pillows in western style hotels, I I did not think the pillows were very comfortable.

Pros: Location very near train station
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was literally few steps from train station. The staff very friendly and can speak English fluently.
Cons: Room was clean and tidy but little bit small as japan usual.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great central location. Easy walk to the train and adjacent to the Sasebo bus station. Housekeeping was quick and very courteous.
Cons: Bathrooms were aging and the tile ‘stickers’ were peeling. Lots of dust and dirt behind the built in end table. Older property that needs a renovation!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel was just across from Sasebo Station, easy transition from train to hotel. Front desk staff very friendly, held our luggage since we arrived hours before check-in. Offered us breakfast since we didn't include it when making the reservations. Family enjoyed the two breakfasts to start our days.
Cons: Rooms were typical of most Japanese hotels, small, compact and lacked a dresser for our clothes. But we've come to expect that and are used to "living" out of the suitcases.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The cleaniness, staff and location
Cons: Size of room.. very small compare to website.
6.7 Good
Pros: The facilities are generally old and not up to present standard of a quality hotel. The location is excellent and the staff are nice and helpful. I will not stay in this hotel in future unless the same be renovated
6.0 Good
Pros: Didn't do breakfast. Centrally located next to bus and train stations.
Cons: Did't have queen or king size bed. No dresser or storage for clothes and luggage. TV difficult to operate language barrier.

Cons: None.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to the station, city centre and sea. Easy to find. Clean and comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff. I really enjoyed my stay. Can only recommend!
Cons: -
7.5 Good
Pros: I was a bit pricey for the outdated deco as it was an older hotel. Retro feel should go with retro price.
Cons: They need to update the room. I asked for a non smoking room. It felt like previous occupants must have smoked or it was just the ‘retro 80’s smell in the room. It smelled like grandfather bedroom
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I have stayed in a number of Washington Hotels in Japan. I love the breakfast in everyone of them, and this one is no exception. The buffet breakfast has a wide selection of Western and Japanese food. It is totally worth the money paid.
Cons: Nothing
6.3 Good
Pros: Central to location and easy to find
Cons: The double bed shoved up against the wall. The decor is dated and generally shabby
6.5 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: The staff argued with me for more than 10 minutes, suggesting that I should reserve a bigger and more expensive room because we have a one year old baby with us.
7.9 Good
Pros: Near the station Amenities and staff as you would expect from a business hotel Enough English signs and staff could understand you decently
Cons: Room seemed a little old

3.8 Mediocre
Pros: It’s near all most attractions around the city
Cons: Very old and poorly maintained hotel. The hotel has been around for 50years and without any renovation done. When I first stepped in the room I thought it was haunted. The counter staff told us the owner only keen in doing banquet sales thus unwilling to invest into proper room renovation. Stay at your own risk but I would never return again.. it’s the worst hotel I have ever stayed in japan.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I liked how relaxing the atmosphere was, and the staff went out of their way to help any needs I had. Peaceful, well appointed rooms.
Cons: The internet access. It was so slow that even email programs timed out. It wasn’t just my device, because I tried 3 different ones. If you need to use the internet, even just a little, don’t stay here. The WiFi was good, but the connection speed was abysmal. Dial up in the 90s was faster.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location is good close to a few observatories There is a nice Onse
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location is near to 99island.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The reason I've given the staff full marks is because of 1 member of the staff - Tina. She was warm and helpful, with excellent spoken English. The breakfast crew was professional, and the spread was quite impressive. The standard Japanese room was a tad squeezy for a family of 4, especially the bathroom, but overall it was quite OK.
Cons: The other members of the staff were unsmiling, especially the males; in fact, when their fire alarm malfunctioned at 5.30am on our last day there and hence kept us awake for at least 30mins, the male staff member checking us out didn't even apologise to us.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location, hot spring and breakfast
Cons: if the staffs at the front desk can speak English will be great
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The area's location is much more beautiful than google maps indicates. The walk to the local sites is enjoyable as it circles the marina. The area is clean and manicured and the walking path is separate from the road.
Cons: We didn't use the spa. The breakfast tables were set quite closely together making breakfast chaotic rather than relaxing. Japanese scrambled eggs are much more runny and wet than expected.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, very close to different attractions. Excellent staffs. We enjoyed very much staying there. The only setback when we stayed there was the raining days, and the hotel itself indeed helped us to ease our mood after the raining weather :=)
