10.0 Excellent
Pros: The peacocks on the grounds are wonderful. The fireplace adds comfort to the room. The spa and staff provided excellent service.
Cons: The bathroom lighting and mirror could use some updating for application of cosmetics.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful attention to detail, friendly attentive staff, clean, comfortable facilities, freshest, softest linen, delicious food and wine and a deeply relaxing, safe energy to the land itself. The only place i would stay were I to come back to Ecuador.
Cons: A cappuccino for breakfast would have been great
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Garden,view,tranquility,quality of rooms
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The grounds are incredible!! Seriously breathtaking. The food is great as well. The city of Baños is truly spectacular and we couln't imagine staying anywhere else during our stay. We stopped over in Quito for a few days prior to going to Baños and wish we had gone straight from the airport. So much to do in this gem of a town, but Samari also provides an amazing place to relax as well. Creates a good balance for your time at this location.
Cons: The beds were SUPER firm. I can't remember if I booked two beds (not sure why I would since it was my partner and I), but they didn't have a one bedroom avail, so we had to sleep in separate beds, which was a pretty big bummer. They also didn't seem to care that we were in a two bed room. Also, they placed us next to a family of SIX! My recommendation to the resort would be to separate families from romantic partners... different sides of the hall or something? Also to that note, there were more kids/families than I anticipated. Still it's hard to complain since you're literally in paradise. Just some things to know ahead of time, no deal breakers.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast and the beautiful grounds
Cons: Screaming children at the spa and waking us up at 7 AM
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Samari Spa Resort is a piece of paradise on earth, which I would definitely recommend. It's a must!!!
8.2 Excellent
Pros: cleanliness, comfort and at a perfect distance from the town center. the facilities looked interesting although we only got to use the pool which was heated and very clean.
Cons: we got back to the hotel at 3 am on saturday, the gates were closed, the staff member in charge wasnt around. we had to wait 30 min until a guest inside went to look for someone who could help us in.

Pros: Great location! Very nice building. Very open with lots of open space. Not a party hostel which was nice. Comfortable beds. Good WiFi. We stayed there a week.
Cons: Hot water was not all at all times but warm enough to shower.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Baños is a bit of a party town so it was great to find a hostel that offers such great value for money and is NOT a party hostel. Spacious rooms, nice kitchen and amazing wifi. The owner and his son are very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Shower can be a bit unpredictable - sometimes it gets too hot and then midshower it gets cold etc.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, great location (quieter than central town, but close enough to everything) and great hosts. Victor & his Son make you feel very welcome
Cons: Nada
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Rooms are spacious. Kitchen is spotless and has everything you need to cook. Warm check-in by Victor, where lots of information about Baños is given. Black-out curtains made a real difference in our stay!
Cons: Showers are a bit unpredictable, nothing you cannot work with!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly owners and helpful. I had a good stay at Princess Maria.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed our stay. Our room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was big and the shower was strong with plenty of hot water. We also had a small balcony, which was nice. The common kitchen was clean and well organized. There was coffee available in the mornings and there was a bakery just down the street where we could buy fresh bread. One of the best things about the place was Victor, the owner. He was super friendly and helpful. He spent a lot of time explaining what there was to do in Baños providing details that helped save us time and money. He also arranged a trip to the jungle for a really good price.
Cons: Nothing. We liked everything.

Pros: Absolutely stunning with lots of superb flora - loved the place - wished we stayed longer!!!!

Pros: Great view!
Cons: Buth tube was not working. It worked only the shower. It would be great if we could use the bath tube too. La tina de baño no estaba funcionando. Sólo funcionaba la ducha. Hubiera sido fabuloso que pudiésemos usar también la tina.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very warm and helpful. The property is very unique and interesting. The room was very large and the bed was comfortable.
Cons: Unless you have a car, the location is not good. There is really nothing close by. The restaurant did not open for dinner as advertised. Breakfast was good, but the same every day. No one spoke English which made it challenging. Lots of car alarms in the parking lot.

6.7 Good
Pros: Location is great. Short walk to town.
Cons: Rooms are old and overdue for renovation Not many options for breakfast.
6.3 Good
Pros: Concierge rubbed me the wrong way when we arrived, he wasnt friendly at all. We never got the welcome cocktail upon arrival and every time we asked fo something he made it see like he was doing us a favor. I understand it was 10 pm but his attitude was uncalled for.We upgraded to a better room even though the original room we payed for was already more. The upgraded room was filthy, stains on the bed and the bed board, had a decent view to the pool. The breakfast wasnt bad and neither was the concierge during the morning.
Cons: Night concierge, dirty bed and beadboard gave it that filthy feel
4.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast just ok, facilities poor
Cons: Service, room quality and cleanliness

La Casa Amarilla - Banos (Tungurahua) - Outdoor view
8
8.9 Excellent (71 reviews)
S$ 73+
Overview Reviews
When you stay at La Casa Amarilla in Baños de Agua Santa, you'll be in the mountains, within a 10-minute walk of Juan Montalvo Park and Banos Central Market. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, multilingual staff, and laundry facilities. A roundtrip airport shuttle is available for a surcharge.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The view of Baños is excellent, it feels safe. The owners are really friendly people, willing to tell stories, the breakfast is good, with bread and jam made at the property and Ecuadorian coffee. The rooms are comfortable, is a great place to disconnect yourself from the city while still being close to it. I think is a great place for a family and adventurers.
Cons: While I was ok with it, there is a walk (around 10-15 minutes, going up the mountain) to reach the property, my mother didn't like that much (also, you have to plan around that, because you would not like to do this walk many times a day). Like I said, if you plan for this, it should be not an issue.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Superb hosts. Like living with a family. Amazing views, clean air, home cooked food. Best chicken soup in the west! It’s a hike uphill, on a dirt track - but well worth it for the peace and views.
4.2 Okay
Pros: The lady owner Betina was extremely lovely. The view is wonderful.
Cons: This is an inaccessible homestay up a mountain so steep and far from town only a person with a small backpack and no luggage could reach. Even with horses (which you have to pay for) to bring bags up it is very hard to reach and parts of the hill you have to slide down as they are difficult. With rain this would be a nightmare. I am a bit disappointed the reality of the access is not fully disclosed. We knew it was a bit of a mountain walk but the reality is far more extreme. If you plan on doing nothing for a night then maybe a night, but the price we paid really does not justify this stay. if you want to get into town for tours this is totally logistically impossible especially with two young children. You are staying with a family and their two small children and since it’s hard to leave the property you are stuck there also for food which compared to town is expensive. This was a very expensive mistake for us unfortunately as we booked for two nights but left after 1 paying a 50 euro penalty. Also the property knew in advance we were only one adult two kids as my husband had to return home due to illness. The cost of the one nights stay at Casa Amarillo cost as much as two nights in a 4 stay hotel in town. Also when asking for help with a tour of the town only provided the option of 80 dollar tour or use local Chiva nothing else. This was disappointing as 80 euro for a few hours sightseeing not in our budget but that was apparently the only option. On getting to town we soon discovered you can hire a taxi for the day for 20 euro to take you to all the places or the cheaper 4 star property we moved to arranged immediately a driver in 4x4 from 11 until 5 pm for 40 dollars. This property was not good value for the very high price we paid and the location is not for anyone except fit young backpackers with small rucksack.
7.9 Good
Pros: Kind hosts. Beautiful view.
Cons: Long steep non-paved road to Casa Amarilla (10-20 min walk from town), so we didn't use tur fascilities that much.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breathtaking views of Baños and the surrounding mountains. Hosts were excellent company and very accommodating.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Good view and friendly host. Enough size room and lovely pet.
Cons: A little bit walk from town.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The view, the owners, the garden and the friendliness of the space.
Cons: The hike to get up to the property while it is raining is a little challenging. I would have been better to be a little more aware of what to expect from the hike up to the property. This is the best view/value money can buy in Baños
10.0 Excellent
Pros: These three days were amazing thanks to Bettina and Darwin !! The walk definitely worth this amazing view. Peaceful place in the middle of the hills. The breakfast is really good and the food too ! Thanks for the tips and the coffee beans. We won’t forget your family :) Camille and Romain
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It is a bit of a walk to get to the accommodation but it is definitely worth the trip: nice people and very quiet.

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Kind hosts and nice pizza delivery. Even helped us phone an airline company because apparently we bought tickets that were for Ecuadorians only. The view from the breakfast was also beautiful, right by the garden with all kinds of birds (such as hummingbirds). Lots of choices for breakfast.
Cons: Location was a short taxi drive for $1,5. The city centre was not really within walking distance. Unfortunately for us there was some construction below our room, but that was of course not the hotels fault.
9.6 Excellent
Cons: Staff doesn’t know any English, not even a word. Difficult to communicate as a tourist with limited Spanish.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Aldea Real is situated in a gorgeous spot overlooking the river and facing a verdant mountain side. The view and the power of the rushing water is breathtaking. The room was neat, clean and well appointed and a balcony provided great access to the view. The place is managed by an amicable young couple who were able to converse in English as well as Spanish, which came in handy.
Cons: While Aldea Real is in a gorgeous spot, it is not particularly close to town; it is about a 8 minute cab ride away. That said, a cab ride is $2, and I felt the view was worth it. My one recommendation would be the need for dehumidifiers to remove moisture from the air to keep mold at bay during the rainy season.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great view of the mountains and river at your doorstep. Excellent breakfast and helpful staff. Very relaxing !
Cons: Our room was a little chilly and needed better lighting
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, food and the overall experience was awesome.
Cons: The Jacuzzi didn't work properly. I was pretty disappointed by that. Hot water will go on and off.. Besides that we were really happy.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The view of the Pastaza River is awesome!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff is very kind, nice view. It has a delivery service with a detailed menu.
Cons: Our jacuzzi had some problem and the water flood the bathroom the first day we stayed.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very good and the coffee was spot on, the view we had of the waterfalls was was beautiful.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Actual owner or manager was pleasant and helpful. Room was adequate and clean. Very quiet and an easy wall to all the action in Banos.
Cons: Owner's apparent son was lounging on a sofa when I arrived and appeared irritated that he had to deal with checking me in. Perfectly ok to have a family run hotel, but this youngster needs to learn about how to greet customers. Started off with bad impression.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great. The bed was so comfortable and the view from the room was breathtaking. I'll be definitely going back!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the room we had, it was on the top floor with a huge terrace and a view to the falls, the ocation is great since it is not where are all he stores but it was 5 min walk from there. Very quite at night, for sure will be back.
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room we had was spectacular (on the rooftop), staff were very friendly, breakfast was nice everyday.
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner is super nice and helpful. We loved the location and the cute hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hostess Janet and Fernando were super nice, they help us book the best trip to do Canopy. Breakfast Delicious! and good location with a pretty view.
6.3 Good
Pros: Good location, decent bed, food was good.
Cons: 1. There was NO table & chairs on the balcony. We wanted to sit on the balcony and watch the waterfall, we were not able to. 2. The shower was difficult to get in and out of. I slipped and fell the first time I tried to get in the shower. The floor of the shower & bathroom was very slippery! It was a typical Ecuadorean hostel. We were hoping for something Americano, our mistake.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The facilities included an eating area for breakfast and drinks. The staff was excellent and helpful.
Cons: Breakfast was a bit expensive for the region and the room was not very soundproof.

7.5 Good
Pros: I felt the dorm room a bit too overcrowded with the beds however ended up making good friends over there so at the end I didn’t care. The staff helped me with all the activities and finding the right bus. They have rescued animals which is very sweet from the owners
6.7 Good
Pros: Location is good, facilities and pool to play. Small common area but enough. All activities info about baños at your arrival.
Cons: Prohibition signs everywhere, prohibition to refill your water bottle to consume out of the hostel (charge of 1$ per liter!!), prohibition to clean your clothes or they will charge you the cost (what cost? Water? Time? Sun to dry?). Kitchen only available 2pm to 11pm, they can provide cutleries hot water and stuff but forget about prep or cook something.
7.5 Good
Pros: All good, nice place and they have Netflix!
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Cheap room and good location
Cons: This place has no vibe at all, pretty much just a place to sleep.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Nothing
Cons: People have sit in front of my room (the so called living area) speaking aloud till 2:30AM at least. I had to wake up at 5:30AM to catch my bus on time. It had a very bad night sleep
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great value for money. Staff were great and very helpful, family owned.

Rooms at Hotel Flor de Oriente include a TV with satellite channels. Some units feature views of the mountains or garden. Rooms have a private bathroom. There is a 24-hour front desk at the property.
7.5 Good
Pros: Centrally located in Banos with a good breakfast.
Cons: Noise and light isolation are both really terrible. I slept there on a weekday but I can't imagine how you would do it on a weekend with parties going on.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: friendly and accommodating concierge, great location
Cons: shower in bathroom doesn't close properly
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were absolutely amazing and friendly and couldn’t do more for you
6.0 Good
Pros: The location was excellent and the breakfast was good.
Cons: No warm water in the bathroom sink (I hate shaving with cold water). The internet connections were hopeless.
1.0 Poor
Cons: Noisy. Windows rattled in the wind, street noise was unbearable. Dogs barking continuously. Suppose to stay 3 nights but checked out after the first night of no sleep.
7.0 Good
Pros: Good central location, nice balcony, good breakfast and friendly staff.
Cons: No mirror in bathroom (bad for shaving), sewer smell from bathroom (keep the door shut), and a lot of street noise (pick up ear plugs at front desk).
7.0 Good
Pros: Very convenient location at the city center, great for getting around Baños. Good continental breakfast included eggs, smoothies, yogurt, croissants and coffee or tea. We asked for an inside room, and although it was still loud, it wasn’t unreasonable for being located right in the city center.
Cons: Wifi was dreadful- not available in rooms, and dicey to try to use even in the common areas. The pillows on the bed were also the worst I’ve ever slept on- huge and rock hard, so your head is craned at a 90-degree angle (and I like a firm pillow!)
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: I liked the location. It is in a central location to walk to many shops and restaurants.
Cons: Beds were too hard for us. Breakfast is very limited if you don’t eat eggs. They did not have juice to offer. It is not worth paying extra for breakfast. We put out the tag on the door to have our room cleaned, but it was never cleaned. A staff person came up and had a hair dryer, but we did not need one. No phones, no elevator, no hangers in the closet and no safe. The bathroom was very small and had no fan. There is no mirror in the bathroom. There is an old wood like vanity in the room. The knob kept falling off the vanity. There was no heat, but we were provided with a blanket and heavy comforter on the beds. There is lots of street noise. Only one staff spoke English, so it was difficult to have needs met without our google translator. We were initially put in a room that had water on the floor in the bathroom and the ceiling had a huge hole in it. We asked for another room and was given a room with a balcony. I will not stay here again. I will take my chances in a hostal.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent and friendly staff. Very welcoming and helpful. Awesome breakfast!
Cons: Thin windows, a little noisy at night - minor issue though.

Pros: The staff was exceptional. I had made a mistake in our booking and the receptionist, can’t recall his name was super helpful in fixing my confusion with the booking/reservation. He couldn’t have been more understanding and helpful. He made us feel at home. The next day we had booked an excursion with another company and he helped us when we were having some trouble getting them to pick us up. Wish I had known they offer the same tours. Breakfast was delicious even my picky teens loved the breakfast and asked for seconds!!!!
Cons: There was nothing not to like everything was perfect. Home away from home.
4.2 Okay

Pros: The stuff is very nice and helpful!! The shower is amazing. The breakfast is nice and gets you a nice start to your morning. There is a nice kitchen if you want to cook.
Cons: My bed was not very clean and had dust on it. The location is pretty bad and feels out of the center, but you get to the center by a 10 min walk.

Pros: Staff was amazing, room was ok.
Cons: No soundproof walls like described. Breakfast was not like expected or in pictures.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff was exceptional. I had made a mistake in our booking and the receptionist, can’t recall his name was super helpful in fixing my confusion with the booking/reservation. He couldn’t have been more understanding and helpful. He made us feel at home. The next day we had booked an excursion with another company and he helped us when we were having some trouble getting them to pick us up. Wish I had known they offer the same tours. Breakfast was delicious even my picky teens loved the breakfast and asked for seconds!!!!
Cons: There was nothing not to like everything was perfect. Home away from home.
4.2 Okay
Cons: U can't use the wifi or the kitchen after checked out (11 am) and when I complained about it, I got kicked out. Staff were not nice, rooms were okay but nothing specials. Empty hostels, not social at all

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was really nice and spacious as well as clean. Colourful paintings on the ceiling was charming. Breakfast was simple yet good with different jams (homemade?) for the the bread rolls as well as the option of oat meal if you need a more filling meal for the adventures of the day. The bar/common room had a great atmosphere with drinks and food available for a fair price as well as free dinner 3 days a week. The cakes are to die for.
Cons: A 5 percent increase in price if using credit card seems a bit much.
6.7 Good
Pros: Loved the concept of free dinner mon-wed, the breakfast was great and the beds really comfy.
Cons: Unfortunately i found it very dirty in the dorm, you couldnt enter the toilet/shower without shoes because the floor was always to dirty. Only one toilet/shower (at the time we were 13 persons in my dorm). Sometimes i found that the staff werent helpful or happy, some of them seemed very tired and in need of a break.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing Hostel ... lot of stuffs to chill in the house ... 4 days stay turned out to be 2 week
Cons: Little bit language barrier ... coz I don’t speak Spanish ...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, the breakfast, the dinner, the staff.. Everything is wonderful
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The free breakfast was great, delicious bread. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms aren't too crowded.
Cons: So many barking dogs outside and thin window panes through which to hear them. Shower took forever to get warm, up to five minutes of waiting, wasting tonnes of water. To receive drinking water you had to pay; it's always been free at other hostels.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: helpful staff, good bikes for rent, comfy bed, good location, nice bar
Cons: breakfast very limited and boring some problems with room availability at checkin, but they solved it and we got our room quickly
8.8 Excellent
Pros: - Very cool and fun common area with pool table and other games - Nice staff that helped us plan what to do in the city - Very well located - Good WiFi - Hot shower
Cons: - Breakfast was included but not very complete: 2 pieces of (good) bread but nothing to put in the bread, 1 banana and a juice/tea - Not much offer in terms of food
