Cape Town hotels near South African Jewish Museum

Cons: the hotel need renovation. The staff does not respect the guest. They made me wait at reception to go verify if I stole in the room.

Cons: Since the hotel is at the convention center, if there is a large convention in town (that you are not a part of) you may get overwhelmed by conventioneers. There was a large ANC convention in town while we were there. The hotel was able to handle the added quests, so it reallly wasn't a problem but could be an issue for some. Check the Cenvention Center schedule prior to booking. The only other issue I had was the customer service in general. I really thnk this issue is more cultural to South Africa than it is an issue at the Westin. I just didn't feel like the conceirge's were as helpful as they should be getting tickets for me or helping me find a good restaurant. I sat in the bar area of one of the hotels restaurants (1 meter from a restaurant table - didn't realize it) and we asked to order a desert and was told we needed to get up an move 1 meter to the next table. This kind of rigidity does not exist in the USA..,.the customer is always right and we would have been served. That night we decided to get up and move back to our room. At breakfast, there was mixup with the number of people in our room booking (they claimed the reservatin was for one and we had two in the room). Breakfast was supposed to be complimentary but they made us pay for one breakfast each morning (200 Rand)....an inconvenience. I think this would have been handled differently in the US. Overall, I would recommend the hotel for its location and nice amenities, just don't expect 5 star American style service anywhere in South Africa. (Although I will say the overall service level in South Africa is much higher than anywhere I have been in Europe....espeicallly restaurants)

Cons: Minor complaint: The "lap pool" usually did not serve for swimming laps as it was the only pool at the hotel, it was only one lap wide, and was used by guests for simply lounging in the water. However, the gym was well equipped, so I was still able to get good exercise.

Cons: Sometimes prices on high side for Cape Town where there are plenty of options

Cons: Front Office staff can do better, phones go unanswered and some staff look at you like they dont want you to talk to them

Cons: The wi-fi was slow and a bit hard to connect to. We actually needed to go into the hallway to connect an iPad, but once connected, it worked in the room.

Cons: Bed was tiny my legs hang over edge Room was small for a family room Hotel had no atmosphere Buffet breakfast was terrible

Cons: Rooms are kinda small some rooms have shared bathrooms

Cons: Archaic Wi-Fi system, requiring new username daily and with each log on. It does not remember you. Also, there is no CNN or BBC. Only SkyNews. OK if your British and want to keep up on parliament and London issues only.

Cons: The room was cold, and it seemed that only air conditioning (not heat) was available. The internet is unstable, which made trying to work from the hotel room a challenge. There was literally a *single* outlet in my room.This meant that I couldn't properly charge my phone and laptop because of this limitation. The outlet is at the desk only, so I couldn't charge my phone overnight (as I need the alarm near me to wake up.)

Cons: Nothing that comes to mind, we had a great experience and would definitely go back for a 2nd visit..
