I was only renting a vehicle to test drive a Tacoma or similar truck, which is what I reserved. When I went to pick it up they had no Toyota Tacomas or any other trucks because “lots of people wanted them” that day. What is the point of making a reservation if they will give away the vehicle you reserve to whoever walks up to the counter early in the day? I canceled the reservation and left. Very disappointed.

Hertz could not process the credit card hold on a separate card, the staff at the pickup location had an attitude from the start because I was right at the door as soon as they opened. Staff refused to assist me with finding a solution to our problem and strong armed me into cancelling my reservation made through kayak and made me rent a completely different car at a different rate because the one I had originally scheduled was now "unavailable" despite the fact that it was sitting outside. I will NEVER do business with hertz again.

I reserved a car for Saturday July 18, 2021 for 12 noon. I was told to pick-up at Newport News airport. When I arrived at 11:30am, the Hertz was no longer there. I was directed to another, but by the time I got there at 12:07pm, it had closed at 12 noon. I was never alerted that they closed at 12 noon. And furthermore, why would you book someone a car at closing. I booked a room at the Hilton in D.C. for $169 which I could not get a refund for, never got a rental car cause hertz is closed on Sunday. Which my room was for Saturday anyway. Hertz did refund my $359, but I never received the $55 for the insurance on the rental. Thanks Hertz... I flew my wife from Louisiana to Virginia to have a romantic Father's Day in D.C., only to lose money and be stuck in Virginia. Terrible Service. Never Again. About $230 waisted due to poor communication and service. My wife could've stayed home for that, not to mention the flight amongst other things. 😤😡🤬

Budget did not have the type of car I booked available. I ended up having to pay $15 more dollars a day because they only had one vehicle available in their entire fleet. I should not have been able to book a vehicle that wasn't available.

I was at ORF which was out of cars. I booked a car at nearby Newport News, loaded the family into a Lyft, and took a $70 ride up. Upon arrival I was told they have no cars. Stranded. Seems easier to track inventory than that.

The car was dirty on the inside. Photos were taken. The doors on the inside were visually dirty. One window was so dirty it looked foggy. Also, a second reservation was needed at a different location b/c upon arrival, they had no cars.
