Top Tips for Hiring a Convertible Car in Inverness

  • Inverness is a city on Scotland’s northeast coast. It has some of the most incredible sightseeing spots in the country. Some of these include Culloden Battlefield and Visitors Centre, Cawdor Castle and Gardens, Historic Fort George, The Lantern of the North, Hike Loch Maree and Inverewe Garden and Estate. You can view most of these beautiful spots from within a convertible car. Therefore, if you're planning to hire a convertible, we recommend that you choose one that offers clear visibility. You want to drive with the roof down but also have excellent views if you need to drive with the roof up. You also want to ensure the car has large windows that make it easy for your friends or family to take pictures along the way.
  • Inverness is home to a variety of wild swimming spots that you can access easily with your convertible car hire. Try swimming at any of the small lochs, including Loch Mhor and Loch Ceo Glas; they're great spots to visit with friends and family. If you're planning to swim, be sure to pack towels and rubber mats to protect your convertible's seats and floors. It can be tricky to keep your rental spotless, but if you're prepared, it's an easy task. Remember that some Inverness convertible car hire companies may charge a fee to do a full cleaning of the car.
  • When choosing a convertible car to rent, it's important to consider its size and the amount of space available for luggage, shopping and any extras you may be carrying. Many convertibles are smaller compared to other cars, so it may be useful to ask your preferred Inverness convertible car hire company about the number of seats in the car, the legroom available and the size of the trunk.
  • Most Inverness convertible car hire companies require you to be at least 21. However, this can differ depending on the company's rules. It is always important to carry all your documents with you when hiring a car and driving around the city.

FAQs About Hiring a Convertible Car in Inverness

  • What are the most popular convertibles for rent in Inverness?

There are several convertible car models for hire in Inverness. These cars are popular because of the beautiful views the city offers. Some of the most popular ones include Mazda MX-5, EQ Cabrio, Mazda MX-5, Audi TT Roadster, Mercedes-Benz SLC, Porsche 718 Boxster and the Audi A5.

  • Where are the best car rental locations in Inverness to rent a convertible?

There are around 26 locations in and around Inverness to rent a convertible from. Most of these locations are situated close to Longman Road or the A9 freeway. Many hire locations are close together and within walking distance from the city centre. The best location for your pick-up service would be the one closest to your arrival destination.

  • Which are the most popular Inverness convertible car hire companies?

The five most popular renting companies for hiring a convertible car are Avis, Enterprise, Budget, Hertz and Keddy. However, there are also many other rental companies with convertibles available. So, it is advisable to do some research and make comparisons before booking a specific hiring company. With KAYAK, it is very easy to do comparisons. You can simply search for your pick-up city and browse all the possible rental companies in the area.

  • Can I change or cancel my convertible car hire reservation in Inverness?

It is normally possible to adjust the date or extend the convertible car service hiring period in Inverness. But please note that there may be a small payable fee for this. Therefore, if you plan to cancel or modify a reservation to a completely different date, we recommend that you do it far in advance to avoid any big penalties.

  • How does KAYAK find such low convertible car hire prices?

KAYAK compares convertible car hire prices from all major car hire companies such as Thrifty, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, Payless and more to find you the best deal.

I arrived to pick up my car as I have done many times before and I could not find my driving licence- it transpires it was in my suitcase. the assistant would not hire3 me the car despite me offering him to check the DVLA site with my passport details to verify that i did have a full licence and No points. I was charged £176.00 and not even given a hire car and I will be contacting the CEO and You and your on BBC radio 4 -

Excellent experience. The only problem was changing my pickup and dropoff Times, because I prepaid through KAYAK. I suspect at a larger airport, with more cars this would have been easier. The staff tried hard to make my change possible.

KAYAK
Besides being expensive, we told them what time we were dropping the car back off and they never mentioned they’d be closed so we had no shuttle to the airport and we had to walk with all of our baggage from Sixt to the airport on dark unlit streets in a foreign country. Very dissatisfied. They also did not have the car they repeatedly told us they’d have. We reserved a small SUV and they offered us a sedan or a slightly larger SUV. Of course there was an up charge for the suv so we got stuck in a sedan for the trip.

KAYAK
Sixt rental in Inverness airport looked after us very well. The shuttle picked us up at the terminal building, the driver was extremely friendly as were the office staff. The car was good looking, clean and pleasure to drive. They offered me an automatic transmission which I appreciated. Drop-off was straightforward with a key dropbox in the terminal building. Returning the car with a full tank of fuel was tricky as the nearest gas station was some distance away.
