Everything is fine here...
It's spotlessly clean. A good sized bathroom with two separate toilets, two separate showers in private cubicles and two sinks. A hand dryer and a hair dryer are supplied. Plenty of hot water for showers. Space to get ready in the bathroom so not to disturb anybody in the bedroom as I was getting up very early to go to an appointment enroute to an event. Curtains are on the individual bunk beds giving you privacy. The duvet and bed is made up.
The area is safe and the surroundings area is lovely with a good selection of restaurants and cafe bars in the immediate area. It is a very affluent area of London. But it's only accessible by foot, not great if it's raining. I only found it by accident by following another group of guests and it was getting late by the time I found it. There was no answer by phone from the staff on reception as I was trying to get directions, a little concerning. The problem is even though the area is very affluent the hostel is situated in Holland Park and is only accessible by foot through a walkway, a ten to fifteen minute walk. Late at night and early in the morning during the winter months It's dark and I didn't like it, it made me feel unsafe as I arrived late at night and had to leave early in the morning in darkness. It's a pity as I would have liked to stay again but I will only consider it during the summer months or late spring or early autumn.
Holland Park is a great place, really close to central London but still quiet enough so you don't have to hear the constant traffic and police cars and stuff. There are some nice breakfast options around if you don't want to eat at the hostel and you have the central line at about 7 mins walk or buses at High St Kensington that can take you pretty much everywhere, including some nice routes that cover most of the touristy places.
The floor between my bed and the wall wasn't exactly clean and an extra half-hour for breakfast would be nice if you are feeling a bit lazy and don't want to be up-and-about at 9am.
Nothing whatsoever. Absolutely worse location and even worse building. The kitchen area is smelly and untidy and the rooms only have 1 toilet between 15 people? Horrendous.
