Cons: I think the room I ended up with is not the type I thought I reserved. The view was partially blocked by a wall and a window washer scaffolding. The bathroom door also had a big gap when closed and you can see straight to the toilet.

They even have a fruit bar where you can request whatever fruits you want and they'll chop them up in front of you while you wait, into bite size pieces. Awesome. The elevators are soooo cool once you figure them out. Very fast. Your ears will pop and you will feel the g-force. All you have to do is key in where you want to go and the screen directs you which elevator to get into. No button pressing necessary in elevators. The sushi place is like nothing I've experienced before. You can get all you can eat sushi and it goes around in front of you on conveyor belts with little glass covers and you grab what you desire. SO FUN. Again, incredible views all around.

Cons: VALET was a nightmare. Crowded and hot. Instructions were not clear when we checked in so it took close to an hour to get our car. Everyone was friendly enough but they really need maybe more staff to check people out down there or something. If you're trying to get your car at check out time, call ahead and have it pulled up.

Cons: first we paid breakfast included but 1 day just missed as we came at 9.30am and waiting time was 45minutes so girl told she can give us table ( for breakfast ) but restaurant closes breakfast which is not her problem and she cannot help . for what I need than table ? to sit ? second on last day at 11.50 I just requested to please give me late check out as priority club member just till 12.30 and reception staff straight said in bad tone no we cannot and I must leave the room as soon as possible and check out . what they wanted I come in underwear and do the check out may be that will give them satisfaction . don't know what they feel . and had a feeling big number of staff appointed feel either they are special / or place where they work is special or both . anyway . good luck and hope if somebody can digest after paying U.S.$ 400+ for room standard per night then get humiliated and stay .

Cons: I usually don’t write reviews, but this time I feel like I have to. First thing,I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. It was a great experience with a pool and a few good restaurants inside of the hotel. After the check out we decided to take a walk around DTLA and we did leave our bags at the front desk, which seems like a good idea. But, when I got home I realized that my jewelry bag is missing. I reached out to the hotel to see maybe housekeeping did find it, the answer was “no” and the hotel management/ security wasn’t really addressing the problem. I don’t know if the housekeeping took it or people who looked after our bags went through my bags when we went for a walk. I don’t want to accuse anyone, but the fact is my jewelry is missing and no one seems to care. I will think twice, before staying there again.

Pros: The concierge, Josh D., was absolutely wonderful, he gave us a short history of the hotel (gave us a tour), pointed us to all the cool places both in and out of LA, told us about the coffin shaped pool (nobody knows why), all in all a very pleasant conversation. This guy turned our stay at the hotel from good to awesome. Spacious room, equipped with everything we needed. Very lovely bathroom. Media system worked flawlessly. The hotel is close to downtown and is a good location to use if you plan to go to Hollywood and Universal Studios like we did. Will definitely book again if we ever visit LA again and we hope to meet Josh again.

Pros: The concierge, Josh D., was absolutely wonderful, he gave us a short history of the hotel (gave us a tour), pointed us to all the cool places both in and out of LA, told us about the coffin shaped pool (nobody knows why), all in all a very pleasant conversation. This guy turned our stay at the hotel from good to awesome. Spacious room, equipped with everything we needed. Very lovely bathroom. Media system worked flawlessly. The hotel is close to downtown and is a good location to use if you plan to go to Hollywood and Universal Studios like we did. Will definitely book again if we ever visit LA again and we hope to meet Josh again.

Cons: Sometimes it felt like I was in a bar / restaurant with some rooms on top of it. My room has a weird door (connecting) to another door, So during the night sometimes I could hear everything from the room. The staff quickly responded offering a room switch but we were to lazy to do it ;-). I did not like the ammenity fee that hotels in the US charge. It seems the charge you extra for pretty basic stuff that should be included in a hotel of that quality. We did not go even to the pool but I would have preferred a more private pool (there was a restaurant and a bar in front of it).

I was there on business and it was impossible to work in the room as it was difficult to read, even to pack clothes! But the rest of the property is great, so I am sure changes could be made. I mentioned the lack of lighting to the desk clerk as I was leaving.

Staff was very friendly and helpful, the room itself was perfectly serviceable and very unique. It had a wonderful atmosphere. One of the two elevators was down during our stay which was made even worse by the large crowd there to see a concert I myself was attending, but it honestly only made it a little inconvenient. Its a pretty rough area in that there are multiple homeless persons wondering around, but there was security on the streets, two doormen and you can only use the elevators with your hotel room key card so I never felt too worried. Even walked 10 minutes down the road to the grocery store. Pretty pricey, but what can you expect from a stay in downtown L.A. Overall I enjoyed the stay! Wanted to leave this review to flesh out what I wish I would have seen in other reviews, instead of random complaints about no free breakfasts, too small rooms, and vague details over what I personally find important. Cons: Stayed at room 528. Didn’t receive maid service one day contacted reception, after third time of going to reception and asking to speak with the Manager. Room was cleaned and towels changed approx 9-30pm. Manager on duty said they would would give me a call regarding compensation the following day before I checked out (never received a call!). When I checked out I again asked to speak to the Manager on duty and advised I was told I would get an email regarding being compensated, the Manager took my email address and advised me a Manager would contact me(I am still waiting for a call/email). I understand mistakes can happen. It shouldn’t take three visits to reception to receive the service I am paying for, also for Management not to follow through with the resolution of my complaint I find unacceptable. I would like to add this was the only issue I had, but it was a small issue that should of been dealt with promptly rather than rumble on wasting time of my holiday.

Pros: Spacious apartment in a somewhat quiet area. Very secure and the free coffee in the rooms and lobby was great. Wi-Fi was fast. Very clean and having Chipotle and Starbucks very close by was a plus. Rate (minus the outrageous daily housekeeping fee) was very good.
Cons: Building workers started noisily working on a project outside the building at 7:30 AM. One lamp in the bedroom was missing a knob to turn it on, rendering it useless. The outlets sometimes worked and at other times only the top outlet was working. TV remote needed new batteries. Saw ants, not many, but still, there were ants. I was there for two nights and the $160 housekeeping fee per night on top of the room cost was a little outrageous. I can see if one stays for a week or longer, but three days and over $300 in housekeeping fee's?

Cons: We had booked a handicapped accessible room, but did not receive it on checkin. We were told that the hotel had no such rooms and that there was a problem with the Hilton Honors 800 number and the online booking system, allowing us to book rooms that didn't exist. This was not true, the hotel did have the rooms (they appeared the next day), and Hilton's Honor staff (at the 800 number) clearly stated that their information is transmitted to the hotel. Don't really know what happened, but it was communicated poorly. It did not help that we were upgraded to the penthouse suite just to find that the sofa bed mattress was shredded, and the fan in the bedroom could not be turned off. Didn't live up to my expectations of a Hilton experience.

Cons: It was our anniversary and our first time in LA and we requested a room with a view. Our room faced a concrete wall and it felt like we were in a prison. There was no natural light; it was very claustrophobic and for the amount of money we spent we expected a little more. When we called guest services and asked if there was any change of moving to another room with a better view she said flat out "NO"; I explained that it was our first time and asked if there was anything they could do and she said "yea that's what everyone is saying; no there is nothing we can do, we're booked." Not the best customer service.

Cons: Room was extremely small and suffocating. There is no privacy between the bathroom and bedroom. Toilet flush didn’t work on our first night. we reported the issue but it didn’t get looked at until the next day which meant we couldn’t use the toilet in our room. It was extremely inconvenient and uncomfortable. Check and check out was too long. We had to wait at least 25 minutes for check in and 30 min for check out... staff at the bar in the lobby were very unfriendly and had to be reminded 3 times about our drinks order... place seems short staffed and a bit chaotic. It’s proximity to Downtown makes it bearable. But I don’t think I would go there again.

Pros: The location was the only good thing about this hotel.
Cons: No refrigerator; no business center; no wake up call (asked for one - never got it. Set alarm on my phone). Staff was too young and preoccupied with flirting with each other. Bad smell in hallways and elevator. Room had a non-functioning A/C.

Pros: The staff were very nice and helpful. Free breakfast a bonus. Location an easy walk to Downtown attractions and Metro/bus.
Cons: The hotel is old and hasn't been refreshed for years. Peeling paint, sticky badly laid (hazardous) carpet, tiny rooms, and a shower you had to stand sideways in. Probably okay for a night, but not a whole week.

Pros: Staff, and close to Metro
Cons: The beds were uncomfortable, the hotel is badly in need of renovation, the A/C is only window units, the bathroom and the room were ridiculously small (though we were upgraded to a slightly larger room after roaches appeared in our first).

Cons: Probably the complimentary breakfast that only lasts til 10:30am. Would like to have it til maybe 11:30am.

Pros: The location being downtown LA that's all.
Cons: I don't like that online the hotel room looks 100% different than how the rooms really look. I don't like that the bed was broken right when we walked in. I don't like that they have a sink next to the television set and outlet system (very dangerous). I don't like that the bathroom toilet had urine in it already and the shower grout had hair and a sort of residue on the floor. I don't like that the room smelt musky and dusty. I don't like that the I spent so much for false advertising. All in all I don't like this place. And there is literally no other positive except for the location, that's it.
Located in Downtown Los Angeles, this hotel is within a 10-minute walk of Jewelry District, Staples Center, and Grammy Museum. Orpheum Theatre and Pershing Square are also within 10 minutes. 7th Street - Metro Center Station is only a 3-minute walk and Pershing Square Station is 14 minutes.
