First time on Starlux. I was impressed. Very eager to assist flight crew
Premium Economy on Starlux- a worthwhile way to cross the Pacific. This is a great premium economy experience. The seats are comfortable, wide and provide decent foot rests. The seatback TV is large, high resolution and plenty of content. Bluetooth connection for your headset and control from your phone is available. Food was decent and in line with the cabin class. The seat could be improved by providing more lower leg support especially for taller guests (6ft myself). Cabin crew will be moving up and down the aisle a lot since the galley is in front.
Screen size was nice. No vent when hot, food was not good
Wish plane type had more restrooms… Care and consideration from stewards and stewardesses was so great
Pros: "The coach seats were larger than those on domestic flights. The window glass was dimmable for ideal lighting."
Cons: "The arm rests did not go up all the way. This made it difficult to maximize comfort with my wife."
Pros: "Spacious leg room."
Cons: "The food is average. Could be much better. Eg, serve eggs like omelette for Breakfast. Only one choice . The other choice could be Jap menu vi differing it’s s Japanese airline. Flew JAL 2 yrs ago too. Food was not good. Also , toilets could be cleaner. There’s always a pungent smell."
Pros: "JAL flights to LAX are always great. Good food too."
Pros: "Service was excellent"
Cons: "Cabin and all associates accessories, seats and entertainment center needed replacement. Electrical outlets didn’t work. JAL retire that plane"
Pros: "Friendly, clean. Great movie selection."
Cons: "I wasn't allowed to reserve a seat - apparently they don't allow Kayak customers to reserve seats now. I was forced into a middle seat and was uncomfortable and dehydrated the majority of the trip. Nice girl at baggage check said she'd ask a manager to move me, and to let them know at the gate, but the people at the gate said no. I felt discriminated against because I didn't book through them and/or I'm not Japanese. They historically love to put mushrooms in their food, like a fetish. This left me with one choice for the entree - some version of oyakodon - eggs and chicken. In my box there were two enormous chunks of fat/skin and another unidentifiable part of the chicken, and about the amount of edible chicken as 1 1/2 nuggets from Chick-Fil-A. There was more lotus root than chicken, so basically I had a box of rice and scrambled eggs with garnish. For the second meal, it was the Yoshinoya gyudon - a small serving of thinly sliced beef with rice. If I bought this fresh at a Yoshinoya restaurant, it would cost about $3. It's the rough equivalent of serving you a McDouble - cheap and filling and a coin toss if you get stomach pains. I lost that coin toss. Unless there is a big fare difference or I find out that their reserved seat policies are changed, I will choose ANA or another carrier. I used to enjoy JAL, but I cannot abide by idiotic decisions that seemed designed to punish people for using 3rd-party booking sites or who are not Japanese."
Cons: "The attendants were very pleasant and efficient. I will certainly prefer to fly JAL, especially if you could offer the lower rates. On the down side, it was very difficult to contact their customer service line. However their online help desk was very responsive."
Pros: "On time Cleanliness"
Cons: "The food for people with special needs is horrible Most of the staff has poor communication in English on international flights"
Pros: "Great service and terrific vegan meals served. Facilities were clean and personnel were very helpful and provided terrific service to the passengers."
Pros: "There was more leg room than most airlines, friendly staff, and good movies and food selection."
Pros: "everything, the courtesy of the entire crew, the way they show care and respect and compassion to the passengers especially the seniors"
Cons: "flight delays"
Cons: "Mid night snack can be improved, it’s too small a portion."
Pros: "Friendly, helpful, attentive crew; good amount of storage in business class; very good food with an excellent variety."
Cons: "Food was really unpleasant and entertainment all out of date movies"
Pros: "That it didn’t crash"
Cons: "It was very delayed and then the luggage still hasn’t come out"
Cons: "Seats are almost impossible to sit comfortably for such a long flight. Not nearly enough legroom."
Pros: "Service, staff, and food were all above-average as compared to other companies with whom I've flown"
Cons: "Spacing was a little bit cramped, and side-to-side leg-room was so cramped that my neighbor fell asleep, spread his legs and suddenly had no where to escape. Made sleeping difficult/impossible."
Pros: "very clean over a 9 hr flight , great seat and flight attendant"
Pros: "From start to Finish from ticketing to baggage claim we received Premier Customer Service !!!!!"
Pros: "Been flying with ANA ever since I started living in Japan, and it has always been a pleasure. No complaints whatsoever."
Cons: "No problems."
Pros: "The quality of your aircraft. Clean, modern, plenty of leg room."
Cons: "The "meal" served about 1.5 hours after takeoff was just a very light snack. Nothing substantial. Could have been more food."
I was very impressed with this airline. The plane was clean. The attendance were nice and it was a great comfortable experience. The zipper on my suitcase broke after I checked it, and they wrapped it all Thailand plastic wrap to prevent it from coming apart during the flight. When I got to Los Angeles, all of my items were safe and still in the bag. That is above and beyond!
Well, I didn’t like much. The staff didn’t have any beverages except for coffee and water and they never came by. The food just sucked. There was no entertainment at all.
Pros: "The whole Business experience on SQ"
Cons: "During the same trip I discovered 2 different arrangements of the Business Class cabin on Singapore Airlines A350, SQ469 CMB-SIN, and SQ036 SIN-LAX. On the SQ036, I occupied seat 15 A (mono, aisle-window): I did not understand the reasoning behind this layout: Seat facing straight the front of the aircraft, but not enough space to stretch the legs, and limited height for the footrest, feet getting hurled against a ceiling very quickly, and also footrest only on one side = one foot. The deep cavity, that is probably meant to house the lie-flat disposition, is at a 45° angle with the general direction of the seat. I am 77 and not in any way a contortionist. I decided that the best course of action was to remain seated for the duration of the 14:30 hours, flight without extending my legs. Maybe the crew could have explained how the passenger is supposed to fit into that weird design, but I did not ask, afraid that the demonstration might reawaken chronic shoulder and hip pain. I would be glad to read (not test) how this configuration is supposed to convey the sense of comfort expected from a Business Class ticket. It did nothing of the kind for me."
Pros: "Crews sympathy’s"
Cons: "Disembarking On economy plus we had to wait for all business passengers to leave and there were that needed wheelchair hence took a long time"
Pros: "They passed by me when they served the meals because they thought I had it already which it was someone behind me who got his meal since he had a special meal request. So I ended up to talk to them that I haven’t had my meal yet. It was embarrassing moment for me. They seemed thinking that I lied to them."
Cons: "They are well trained crews so I have no better ideas about improvements"
Pros: "Amazing crew. On-stop flight. All premium economy for reasonable price."
Cons: "Silk air"
Pros: "All crew members are very friendly and helpful, good service."
Cons: "All over flight i feel good time, i don't feel boring all friendly staff, good service choice of food i like."
Pros: "Crew were great. Flight was not full."
Cons: "Plane was a bit dated and the entertainment system not as good as the newer plane as choices are lesser."
Cons: "WiFi didn’t work on 3 of the 4 flights although all purportedly had it. Also didn’t work the majority of the time in the Business Class Lounge in Singapore. Food was mediocre both on flights and in the lounge. Movie selection could hardly have been worse."
Cons: "Luggages did not arrive with the flight as it should be. It got lost in Sydney from Queenstown on flight SQ 6683 operated by Virgin Australia (VA 162)."
Cons: "We purchased premium economy tickets but could not select our seats. We were assigned separated seats and had to call Eva Air customer service but they would not help. When we arrived at the check in counter our seats had been relocated and were able to sit together. Kind of upsetting having this hanging over our heads until the last moment."
Pros: "Flight was on time and the ride was smooth."
Cons: "Need option to order vegetarian food, including a day in advance."
Pros: "I loved all the free food, even on short-haul flights!"
Cons: "N/A"
Cons: "One of my luggage was damaged when I was from LA to Taipei."
Cons: "Rude customer service. Hard to understand English. unhelpful staff. Flight was delayed an hour and a half and during the entire time waiting in the lounge, the staff did not notify passengers about the delay until the new boarding time. Updates along the way would have been appreciated."
Pros: "Amazing service and experience. Great movie selection. Food was very good. I love EVA!"
Cons: "I liked everything! Eva does an amazing job and should choose them more often."
Cons: "Eva’s Air is cheap with drinks, whether water or wine. About a Dixie cup of each for a meal."
Pros: "metal silverware is great, reduces plastic waste."
Cons: "plastic cups, they're not biodegradable. Better to use paper cups."
Pros: "Good food, lots of space, clean plane and friendly flight attendants"
Cons: "1. Not enough movie selections; same selection on both legs of the trip. 2. Bathrooms were dirty. 3. I was very disappointed that I was forced to check a carryon due to weight limits when it was under the size requirement. The weight limit doesn't make sense if it was going on the same plane anyway for free. 4. It is utterly ridiculous not to give full mileage for economy tickets anymore. Out of all the programs to cut, the loyalty program? Really? 5. Flight attendants were not particularly friendly."
