10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful B&B, good quality furnishings, excellent provisions ie in room refreshments and probably the best breakfast we've had at a B&B, cooked by a very friendly staff member. Jason provided hot chocolate & marshmallows for when guests arrived back in the evening as well as a large bowl of jelly babies - brilliant! Would definitely recommend The White House. Although it's a bit of a walk into the old town we really liked it as we got lots of steps in and it was very quiet up on the hill. There are lots of good places to eat, we had great fish & chips at The Dolphin Inn - fish & chips Monday with peas, tartar sauce and a pint for £9.95! Other places we liked : Eat @ The Stade, The Green Cafe and The Goat Ledge on the prom, but there are many others we'd like to have tried. We really enjoyed our trip to Hastings and would definitely stay at The White House again.

Pros: I absolutely loved my stay at Black Rock House. Far better than many 4/5* hotels I have stayed in. Down to the afternoon tea on arrival, the friendly but not in-your-face welcome, the beautiful room, comfortable bed, lovely linen and gorgeous bathroom, complete with soft towels, luxury toiletries and bathrobes and to top it off, the amazing breakfast, I need another excuse to go to Hastings and stay again! My boyfriend and I came to stay after a comedy gig at the local theatre (we live about 30 miles away) and decided to stay over so we could make it a bit more of a treat and I'm so glad we did - you must go and stay there, you won't be disappointed!!!

Pros: Gorgeous room with lots of lovely little touches like earplugs for the seagulls, nice tea and coffee. Great breakfast lovingly made and I also appreciate that they’re trying to minimise their use of plastic with their shower products. We will absolutely be returning. I especially enjoyed having a bath looking out over sunny rooftops and the hills of Hastings.
Cons: Nothing really - though the DAB radio didn’t seem to work but really a minor thing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was central, beautifully decorated throughout, lots of small details such as the honesty bar (didn’t use it as we were out for NYE!), it’s the details that makes a place stand out. Cons: It was clean, modern and central.

Cons: Nothing. Just perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved The Laindons! From my first phone call with Ian through to our check-out (also with Ian) everything was absolutely spot-on. This was a last minute trip booked just about 2 days before our arrival and having not been to Hastings myself before I was hoping this would be a lovely treat for my boyfriend and I. Ian was flexible with our check-in time (we were going to do an 8 mile hike in Rye Harbour and not entirely sure how long it would take) and couldn't have been more welcoming upon our arrival. Our room (the Coral Room) was far more beautiful than the website photos communicate with thoughtful touches like ear plugs (for the morning seagulls) and dental kits (in case you forgot your toothbrush) along with an outstanding tea selection (Tea Pigs teabags!). Although the bathroom was on the small side and I felt slightly let down by the bog standard shower enclosure (in comparison to the luxurious room - it was a bit of a mismatch? A few subway tiles and better quality glass enclosure would do the trick.) the rainfall shower head had great water pressure which I always appreciate! The sitting room is open for all to use with coffee table books, board games and an honesty bar. My boyfriend and I brought back a bottle of wine after dinner out and were the only residents using the space. We sat for several hours talking before taking ourselves off to bed. Breakfast was delicious and once again, Ian's perfect hosting skills kicked in when, having overslept, we turned up ridiculously late in the morning (we said we'd be down for 09.00 but overslept and rocked up for 10.00). We got a gentle (deserved) ribbing from Ian for our late appearance and I knew that all was forgiven! The kitchen had run out of avocado (first world problems) so my boyfriend went off menu requesting a bacon sandwich instead and it was cheerfully accommodated.
Cons: The Bose Soundlink with iPod was a nice touch in the sitting room but the tunes could use updating. Or perhaps some cables to allow us to plug in our own phones/Spotify? But I'm only being nit-picky by saying this. I don't think I could have loved this place more! Next time I'd like to stay longer than one night...

Overview Reviews
With a stay at The Old Town Guest House in Hastings, you'll be near the beach, within a 15-minute drive of Battle Abbey and Battlefield and Old Town Hall Museum. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The Old Town Guest House is very well located, right on the front and with the charms of the old town in Hastings all around you. It’s easy to get to all your favourite haunts and to soak up the atmosphere of this vibrant, bohemian part of town. The room we had was the sea view en-suite. It was comfortable and spacious. The owner is friendly, helpful and welcoming. Tracey also cooks an excellent breakfast. Very welcome indeed.
Cons: From the outside the building seems to need a little bit of paint. The windows etc need a re-fresh. Some of the interior could also benefit from some work. However, these things did not detract from the very enjoyable two night stay my wife and I treated ourselves to in the week before Christmas. I only mention them as you need to look past them. Don’t judge a book by its cover! By the way, the stairs are quite steep. Great for us, but might be an issue if you have any mobility problems.

6.3 Good
Cons: The bed was uncomfortable
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The room was lovely we had rm 4
Cons: The private bathroom is across the hall not in the room.
7.0 Good
Pros: Great location for those coming by train as short walk from the station. The room is very clean and cosy. Check in/Check out was easy, though, important to not that reception is not open 24 hours so timing must be noted prior.
Cons: Would've appreciated a place to place luggage for longer period than was available. A result of there being no 24/7 reception so I guess cannot be avoided but is frustrating for those with lots of bags. Advertised breakfast on website but was told there was no in-house breakfast when requested. Shared bathroom and bedroom are very small but would still say offer value for money over hostel accommodation!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: there was none
Cons: I wish they did breakfast

Pros: I was impressed by the cleanliness, tidiness and the beauty of the building, it must be difficult keeping any guest house in order but Kath did a good job, she was accommodating, helpful and friendly. Although it may not be to most people’s taste I have to say it was one of the better places my husband and I have stayed in the last few years for its price.
Cons: We had to go round the corner to a cafe for our breakfast as the Grosvenor Guest House didn’t include breakfast which as it turns out was actually better because it got us out early and the breakfast was very good.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: I did not eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the food. The location was ideal. The service was perfect and the bed most comfortable. The staff were very friendly and most helpful. Everything was perfect except for the very poor lighting in my room.
Cons: The only minor complaint which I have was that the lighting in my room was very poor. The best lit part was the bathroom where good lighting was not required. The next best lit was the section of the room near the door which was only really a sort of corridor to walk along. The main part of the room was very dimly lit indeed. However, I usually find when staying at hotels and guest houses that there is one thing not quite to my liking and this was the only thing at the Chatsworth hotel. Everything else was perfect! So I hope to stay at the Chatsworth hotel again next year.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Everything.
7.0 Good

4.0 Okay
Pros: Comfy bed
Cons: Dirty, moved rooms twice, no kettle, wee all on bathroom floor
8.0 Excellent
Pros: good location
Cons: nothing
4.0 Okay
Pros: Only location
Cons: Too old and not clean
2.5 Mediocre
Cons: The room had a stale smell from the pipes. Water was leaking from the shower onto the wall reducing the amount and pressure of water from the shower. Water draining was very inexistance, I was standing in pool of water which was still there when I checked out.
4.2 Okay
Pros: This is a budget guesthouse and you pay for what you get.
Cons: The cheap price is reflected in the room. It is very basic. The bathroom is tiny with quite possibly the loudest toilet flush I have ever heard. There was also a lot of mould/damp in the corner of the bathroom which isn’t very nice. The room could have done with a thorough clean as it was grubby.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location few minutes from the station and town no issues or problems landlord was lovely
6.7 Good
Pros: Good value for money and close to the centre of Hastings
Cons: Very tired building. It's been a while since it's seen any tlc.
