Pros: I normally do not go out of my way to write reviews, but in this case, the management and the front desk staff went so out of their way to make sure that our stay was perfect that I truly felt compelled to do so. At first, I was surprised at how highly a motel of this style and price was rated on every website we checked. Low on options, we booked it anyway, albeit skeptically. But thankfully for Flamingo, they squashed our skepticism upon check-in and we realized the reviews were exactly right, if not high enough. I've stayed at many similar motels through the years, and usually you get what you pay for, but not at Flamingo because here you get more. Great service, good location, clean rooms, incredibly polite and attentive staff made our trip to San Jose perfect! A+

Pros: Have to admit, I only stayed here because all hotels were completely booked during my last minute business trip to the valley. I was pleasantly surprised. Rooms were clean and ample. Service was great. I would stay again.

I hate leaving negative reviews, but I also don't want others to have a poor experience like I did staying at the Hayes Mansion. I even reached out to the general manager before posting this review to let him know what the state of a current guest's experience was like and see if he could correct the situation and he never replied. Truly -- no one cares if you enjoy your stay at the Hayes Mansion. Not even the general manager. So please don't make the mistake we did by giving this hotel your money. Simply put -- the amenities and services are so greatly reduced, it feels like you're paying a lot of money to stay at a hotel for ghosts. It seems the hotel is only in operation for events and hotel guests are barely accounted for in the services -- the only restaurant on the premise is barely open (closed entirely most days, only open for breakfast on Sundays), there aren't even soap dishes in the rooms for your soap bar, there are no housekeeping services -- so enjoy drinking out of the same one paper cup they give you, the doors to the hotel aren't consistently unlocked so you have to wander around trying each door of this massive complex to even get into your building, there are no minibars in the rooms and with the restaurant closed consistently the only way to grab a drink while staying here is to go to the front desk before 11pm (they will not sell you alcohol after 11pm) and hope they still have something for purchase (they were sold out of wine by the early afternoon when we stayed), etc. It's a gorgeous place that costs a lot of money, only to find yourself stranded (it's not in walking distance to absolutely anything) without food, alcohol, services or amenities. You will get better service at a Holiday Inn. Save your money. Vacations are rare. Have a fun one by staying anywhere else.

Cons: I had called ahead to make sure I coukd check in late, but when i got there, I couldn't find the front desk person (or anyone) for 5 minutes, then when I finally found her, she found my reservation, but couldn't tell what rooms were available & so had to call her manager, and long story short, it was just over half an hour between when I walked in the front door and walked into my room. She said it was her second day, which I can only imagine is really overwhelming, so I was trying to be patient, and I've had good experiences every other time I've stayed there, but i have to say, this one left a sour taste in my mouth.

Pros: We stayed here 1 night in room 121. It was a suite with easy access to the swimming pool. The back door lead right to the swimming pool. The pool looks bigger in the picture but it's still a excellent size. The staff was great and Sunday brunch was delicious. Good hotel to relax and get away from the regular 9-5.
Cons: The only thing I can critique is we were there on a Saturday and there's was nothing special for dinner. The bar food was ok and room service food was ok. No restaurants walking distance but no big deal. Everything was releasing

Pros: The staff was very helpful when it was found out that the website I had booked through hadn't communicated with the hotel fully and they had to go digging for my reservation. But I got a room, it was very nice, even if a bit cramped, but that didn't detract from my stay. The grounds were very nice. I enjoyed their exercise room, it was more filled out than most hotels. I just wish I had had warmer weather to enjoy the pool and more time to enjoy every other feature of Hayes Mansion.

Pros: Driving up the residential street and coming upon the entrance for the 1st time gives you a feeling of stepping back in time to another era. The attention to detail and the beautiful wood trim all around gave a feeling of a very special place.

Pros: Updated rooms with a cool Art Deco feel. Restaurant was good. Beds and bathrooms were nice and comfortable. High quality nest bath soaps that smelled great.
Cons: Breakfast was awful. Poor selection for a “buffet” they need to call it a continental breakfast which is what it is. The breakfast staff was inattentive and I had to go into the staff cubby to dig for cutlery and a napkin. Also, they wouldn’t accommodate a late checkout but did give me an extra 30 Minutes until 1230 however they clearly didn’t communicate with each other because the cleaning crew knocked aggressively twice and the front desk called twice to ask why I hadn’t left. I was only in the hotel for about 15 hours yet I was left with a pretty bad taste in my mouth and did not fee welcome there.

Cons: True price I paid was not worth the room. It was a very crampt room with ancient furniture. The rooms were a boring shade of beige and our window view was another building being constructed. It's layout seemed more that of a comfort inn with a price tag of 90 dollars a night rather than 150. It's not worth the price, if you have a car go to a comfort inn and save some money cause got the same experience.

Cons: Requested early check in and rooms close together for our group. We were late for our function due to late check in because of hotel and weren't even given rooms on the same floor as our friends. Staff said they were giving us an upgrade for our inconvenience and didn't. We were very disappointed in their failure to accommodate our only two request!! For that reason, we will not stay at the Sheraton again!

Cons: The fire alarm went off at 2:00 a.m. This wouldn't have been a problem in and of itself; however, there were NO STAFF MEMBERS around to direct guests or inform guests on when it was clear to enter. The only person around to answer questions was a security guard with an unbuttoned shirt. The next day, I expected some type of acknowledgement or apology for the inconvenience. Nothing. When I checked out a few days later, the front desk attendant laughed about it. The staff here is probably the most apathetic group I've ever seen at a hotel. The bed was LUMPY. No matter which way I positioned myself, there was a lump in the mattress. The shower drain was slow to clear. Overall, I wish I had stayed at a different hotel.

Listed on Kayak as Four Points by Sheraton San Jose Airport but when I arrived the front desk could not find my reservation and said I was at the wrong hotel because they are not yet a Four Points By Sheraton. Once I confirmed the address they agreed I was at the correct hotel but that I needed to call Orbitz/Kayak and get them to fax over the reservation information including the method of payment. I spent about 30-45 minutes in the lobby making multiple calls to Orbitz/Kayak to get it resolved.

Pros: I was very please with the easy check in and check out process. The room was very clean, the bedding was very comfortable. The pool area was very clean and my family enjoyed night swimming as the pool was heated. It's near shopping and eating and the parking was easy.

Pros: I've always thought La Quinta's were great motor hotels, but I was not expecting to find such a beautiful modern style design, like other boutique hotels. The room was clean, the hotel staff were great. Access to WiFi was easy. And It took me less than ten minutes to get to the airport.

Pros: The beds were confortable and the rooms clean. They changed me to 3 different rooms in 5 days because of several issues so I get the chance to try several beds. The staff was friendly.
Cons: The outside of the building looks more like a motel and the carpets looks old. In my first room, the AC was broken and it was 80F. They moved me to another room the next day just under the construction. The renovation was going from 8:30am until 6pm weekend included. Add the noise of the airplanes taking off, this hotel was the noisiest place I ever stayed. The hotel is directly under one of the runaway of San Jose airport and not next to it so the noise is higher than any airport hotel I stayed in the past. The food was terrible. I ate outside after my first breakfast there. There is no restaurant on-site or nearby. Their parking shares the parking of a fastfood but I don't call this a restaurant to eat. The neigborough was really not nice (industrial looking). I would never come back here.

Cons: We added another day and the hotel took it as an opportunity to bill us almost double for it, using "the price depends of availability", although it was clear that the hotel was far from full. That was not a good feeling. Also, the restaurant had really inconvenient hours, closing the bar at 11:00 and closing at 10:00 for breakfast. I get that the expense may be too hight to be full service 24/7, but keeping a light bar menu and the bar open for people to come in any time and get something to eat and a drink would be a big plus.

Pros: Front desk staff was very personable. I called ahead to find out about parking since I was driving a van and wasn't sure about parking clearance. He advised it was an open air parking lot. When I got to the front desk to check in, he remembered my name. Gave us free waters, asked me about my day, why I was there. Said I went hiking that day and gave recommendations for other hiking spots. Was very pleasant. Was refreshing actually such nice people and great service. Maids in the hall were very nice with smiles. Coffee downstairs was great. I will definitely be back if I am in San jose.

Cons: There are several drawbacks to this place: - it's right by the light rail tracks which turn a corne around 2 sides of the hotel. And there are 2 stops. So it is noisy. It stops about midnight and starts early morning so bring earplugs or expect to be woken up. Or both. - the walls are thin so even if the train doesn't wake you the neighbors will! - the hotel is quite expensive -- it's average for the area but then they slug you with a $25 per night parking fee which makes it expensive.

Pros: The location of the hotel was awesome. Right in the center of the downtown area. The staff, especially Tim S. was amazing, friendly, checked me in early, gave me star treatment, the room had a great view, was clean, nice amenities.

Pros: I really Liked its location, we were attending a event at the convention center and the hotel is actually leads into the convention center. That was great! We didn't have to walk at all. All staff members were extremely nice and willing to offer any help that they could offer. The hotel was very busy due to the event, but the staff still dealt with customers in a very polite and friendly manner. I also wanted to say thank you to this hotel for not treating us any different than there other guest, we have been to other hotels and due to our ethnic background have been treated like we were some how less. This hotel did an excellent job treating everybody well and respectively Thank you so much!

Pros: The staff was amazing at accommodating our requests. I got the exact room I had hoped for. Convenient mini fridge, microwave, and disposable plates, silverware and paper towels were stocked in the room. There was a TV and a wall mounted radio, although it would have been better if the radio had a USB connection so we could play clearer music through our phones. Never got a chance to use the spa tub feature, but it looked like it would have been nice. We were literally right next door to CVS Pharmacy for any last minute necessities. I was also excited that Whole Foods was a 5 minute walk away at most. We had an easy walk to the SAP Arena where we watched the concert with the convenience of leaving our vehicle in the parking lot provided by the hotel. That saved about $25 in itself, and saved us from the concert traffic afterward. We were pleasantly surprised by the hot, cooked breakfast they provided from 6:30 to 9:30 am. Bacon, eggs, fruits, pancakes and french toast, plus other items we were too full to try. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel, especially if you are seeing a show at the SAP Arena.

They did nothing to solve the problem and left me to find a new hotel last minute, exhausted, late at night in the most expensive silicon valley area in the country costing me over $500. I am a frequent business traveler and have never experienced such aweful hotel service in my life. This hotel should be ashamed of itself and should evaluation its purpose and focus going forward. I would go as far as to say people should be fired for the way they mishandled such a basic customer function like this. Cons: We reserve the room via internet for valentines day my husband and i. We paid with my bank card. When we got to the Hotel, the front desk lady named Amber asked for my name and she asked me for a credit card to keep and i know thats what all hotels do I've stayed in others before, soni hand her my bank card and told her the was the only visa card I carry, she immediately returned my card and said sorry but i need a different card, in a very rude way and didnt even look me in the eye. I explain to her i had reserved the room via internet and that the room was already paid and my husband and i came all the way from Salinas. She said there was nothing she can do that she couldnt accept my bank card. And i told her that I understand what she was telling me but if i knew she needed a different credit card in the first place, if when i made the reservation they made it clear i was going to need that i would have never reserve a room with them. At the and she took my card with no problem of course, but she was very unprofessional and rude. She made my husband and my self very uncomfortable. We paid around $136.00 for the night and at this moment my bank statements shows a $50 charge from them, i called to see what happend and inresived no help. I have to go personally tomorrow from Salinas to San Jose. Very unpleasant moment with Wyndham Gardens Hotel.

Cons: For the amount that you pay and a breakfast was not included didn't make sense. Rooms look like they used to be offices. Staff was a bit unfriendly, they didn't look me in the eye and barley said anything during my check in and check out, kind of made me feel uncomfortable and makes me want to take my business elsewhere.

Do not book- especially through KAYAK. We chose this hotel because of the location and it was supposed to have a free shuttle to the airport. This hotel does not offer shuttle service after 7:30 AM. We did not learn this until we reached the hotel. (I had contacted Wyndham ahead of time to confirm shuttle service). We had to get a taxi for our morning flight. I attempted to contact Wyndham to complain about this. However they will not help, since it was booked through a third-party. I believe I should be reimbursed for part of our stay, since advertised services were not provided.

Cons: Very expensive ($250) for one night. This was not the rate I had paid in the past and I feel that they take advantage of the fact that they are near the airport. It is an older motel set up. Not worth the price in and of itself.

Cons: There was multiple things I did not like. For starts, the first room 193 I was assign too smell. The sewer smell was very strong and there was bed bug. Keep in mind I was there for 10 minutes. Secondly, I moved rooms (142) and that room had the same problem. Huge bed bugs. It was disgusting. Called the front desk and sent security guard, for what? To check the room. We got our belongings and we to the front desk. I demanded my money back they give me trouble bc their manager was on call. Finally after an hour I got money back, partial btw. I had to look for a room at 1am, driving around the city to find one. It was not a magical experience. It was awful and I will NOT recommend this hotel to anyone.
Situated near the airport, this hotel is within 3 miles (5 km) of Avaya Stadium, Rivermark Village and Silicon Valley University. SAP Center at San Jose and San Jose Convention Center are also within 6 miles (10 km). Mineta Airport Station is 10 minutes by foot and Karina Court Station is 10 minutes.

The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. However, the room was very dirty. It was clear that the bathroom door had not been cleaned around the handle. The tops of the door trim and mirrors were covered with dust, and under the bed it looked like it had never been vacuumed -- layers of dust. If a person is allergic to dust, I'd recommend to not stay here.

Cons: I was charged twice for parking at the hotel. We were not allowed in/out entry into the parking area with our room keys. I was charged for parking at the parking gate and on my final bill. I called the hotel for REFUND and I haven't seen the refund on my bank statement as of this moment.

Pros: The hotel is very conveniently located near the airport and was clean, with an older vibe. Our maid service was good. An event I wanted to attend was being held at the hotel and the facilities were great for hosting it. The business area adjacent to the lobby was very helpful with three computers. It was easy to research places of interest, purchase tickets for area attractions and print them out on the attached printer, which was free to use. A nicely maintained pool and hot tub had liberal hours of use and a nice assortment of tables with chairs, umbrellas and sunbathing lounge chairs surrounding them. The pool towel shelves were always stocked. Free shuttle service brought us to and from the airport with minimal waiting. I would stay here again due to the convenience to airport and ease in attending events. The staff was very friendly and texted me several times during our 5-night stay to see if we needed anything. They happily provided warm cookies (very yummy!) upon request! The breakfast buffet at Sprigs was very good ($21.00 per person and not included in the room rate). We grabbed a turkey sandwich with basil pesto at the coffee bar for lunch one day and it was good. ($7.50) The bar in the lobby of the hotel has limited food service but we found it adequate for our off-hours needs ($17 bar burger, $13 Caesar Salad ($4 additional to add chicken) and the food was very good. Spencer's, the fine dining location with entrees starting in the $22+ range), was not open on Sunday. (See my comments on restaurant availability in other column.)
Cons: We wanted cold water bottles for our daily excursions and our room didn't have a refrigerator. We've not stayed in a DoubleTree hotel without a fridge in our room before this, so we never thought to ask when we booked. There was no microwave, either. A coffee pot was the only room amenity. We were told that only floors 9 and 10 had refrigerators and microwaves but we could add both to our room for DAILY $30 and $10 charges, respectively. We thought that was ridiculous when other hotels, in and out of the Hilton brand, include them in the quoted room rates. I guess the hotel wants guests to pay $2.50 (and up) per small, cold water bottle instead, if room not "upgraded" to 9th or 10th floor. Sprigs, the casual breakfast dining room, should not close at 11:00 AM and should be open for lunch. The coffee/snack bar has a very limited food menu and it closes at 2:00 PM. Since the hotel is in a business district, options for nearby, walking distance eating are limited, especially for dinner; almost all are completely closed on weekends. Spencer's is a formal, on-site restaurant with higher priced entrees. Room service meals are available, but not our traveling style when we want to see sights. The bar in the lobby had good food but the service was slow.

Pros: Bedding was very comfortable and the property is beautiful.
Cons: The airport shuttles only hold 9 passengers and when we needed the 4:30 a.m. ride and there were 24 people standing there and only one shuttle, we decided that Lyft was our only option. Otherwise the shuttle is prompt and appreciated. The pillows are extremely soft and a firmer option would have been nice, but we made due.

Cons: The HHonors floor was still in carpet from the 90's. Very old and out-dated. The room was very dated as well. My daughter who is 5'4" could press on the ceiling tiles, they were so low and old.

Pros: Love that every room has their own balcony for fresh air. Great ammenities down stairs and friendly staff! I always enjoy the excellent customer service here. The location of the hotel is convienent, close to restaurants, shopping, and airport.
Cons: Going in and out of the parking lot became an issue. At the Doubletree guests have the option of valet or self park (you are charged a nightly fee per night). We chose to self park, upon entering and exiting guests must use a parking ticket to do so, the parking meter ended up not working so we'd be stuck for 15-20 minutes along with everyone else trying to get out. They should use room keys for this versus paper tickets that eventually get bent out of shape.
