Pros: Lovely clean hotel situated in the narrow historic streets of the old town next to the beautuful Nice Cathedral. We extended our stay (as we enjoyed it so much) and the sweet manager was always smiley and helpful. She made us feel very welcome and at home. Couldn’t ask for a better location if you want to stay central. Very good value for money!

Hotel staff is pleasant and helpful. When Leuinta appeared at reception, my experience improved. She told me there was indeed decaf coffee (I had been told there wasn’t when I had my 1st and last breakfast at the hotel).. She was helpful, pleasant and fluent in English. She helped me responds to Paris ballet and secure tix for a performance. THAT meant the world to me. She also shared info about the property that I wasn’t told. I suggested that they have a welcome flyer with the information.

Cons: The room needed maintenance. The glass frosted door in the bathroom was hanging off and not really suitable as you can see your partner sitting on the loo, which I’m sure for some might be exciting, but rather have a solid wood door for instance.

Cons: The rooms are small and sparse. Bring your own toiletries. Although there are some, they are. “Modest”. There is no elevator and the hotel is on a high first floor. Luckily I was helped with my luggage. Although not that big or heavy, the luggage made that stairwell formidable. It’s not a place for anyone with a mobility issue. NONE of this was told to me upon arrival: There was a kitchen I could have used to make hot water (I had some coughing) and there were laundry machines for 10 euros. I was never given a map. Now that I know I would stay there again.

Cons: the bed was a bit "used", it was already low at the waist area, and the room was really small without any cupboards so nowhere to put you clothes. Soap and shower gel was provided but only in small plastics, the ones you usually use to only try/test them.

Pros: Hotel Beau Rivage is a lovely hotel exceptionally well situated at the end of the curve of the Baie des Anges in the Vielle Ville ( Old Town ) . It is the quieter part within perfect walking distance of the Place Massena and the Galeries Lafayette and the rue Jean Medecin for shopping. Culturally well situated a stone's throw from the Opera de Nice and walking distance from the Musee Massena and the famous landmark Belle Epoque Hotel Negresco. The flower market on the Cour Saleya is a must. One is spoilt for choice for good restaurants in the area, therefore I look forward to returning one day in the near future. Do not miss the private beach at Beau Rivage Plage which has a very nice restaurant for lunch under the sun. Management and staff at Reception at Beau Rivage are especially courteous and helpful.

Cons: It would be nice to have had a chance to have drinks served on the first floor patio. Perhaps this is a service offered in the summer? The Beau Rivage Bar is great to hang out in for an evening drink or cocktail. The hotel does not have its own restaurant but do not underestimate the room service as the excellent restaurant next door Le Comptoir2Nicole provides a great selection of dishes. The breakfast staff could be more friendly.

Cons: The first night was very noisy. Even closing the window didn't work(and it wasn't the carnival night). The room was also very small and facilities were really old. We were here during the Carnival parade so the breakfast hours were short of plates and bowls.

Cons: My room was super noisy as it didn't have curtains. Couldn't sleep all night due to people partying outside. Came back to see my card being charged again for the stay even though I have already prepaid. Am disputing this with my credit card company right now.

Pros: Great location in Nice near to bars and restaurants. About 10 minute walk to train station . Also the breakfast was very good value for money, lots of choice for breakfast , always being filled when food was on low side. The lady in the restaurant was very helpful and worked very hard keeping everything topped up. All the staff at the hotel were very helpful. Would stay again at this hotel .

Cons: The room was small and rather cramped. There was a small step down into the room which was hard to see and caught us out several times. There was limited wardrobe space and very few flat surfaces to put things on.

Cons: Room clean but not really very welcoming. very tired looking corridors carpets doors etc. Danger beyond one door( left ajar meant we could see there was a derelict part of building beyond) and odd spiral staircase to a 2nd floor which is where our room was. Balcony with terrible view of backs of properties and roofs). The image on booking.com website of seafront balcony is not a std room. Only a few of these rooms which were already full so couldn’t move.

Chantal went to endless trouble to get a taxi to the airport for my fThe fire alarm going off when I WASN'T EXPECTING IT!!light home on the day of the transport strike in France.
