Pros: We came from the Embarcadero BART/Muni Station on Market Street which was a very comfortable walk.
Arrived about an hour before check-in time and received a room right away. Front desk was backed with a line for awhile.
Had a high floor on first stay and liked it much better than the lower floor this time. Room and features are good. Large screen TV nice! Restaurant on the third floor is very good. Arthur is a great waiter; ask him where is from.

Pros: The rooms were much roomier than most SF hotels we've stayed at. We purposely picked FiDi instead of Union Square because we wanted the extra space. We got the executive suites with king beds because they were not much more expensive than the regular rooms. The rooms was spacious by SF standards, nicely decorated, modern, and the king sized beds were superbly comfortable. Didn't use any of the other facilities or amenities offered like the gym etc as we were just staying overnight.

Pros: I liked that we were able to find a great place on such short notice. The Manager on Duty, I think her name was Susan, was very helpful after one of the reservation agent accidentally mixed up our checkout time- and another Agent Brandon wasn't very kind to us.
I ate most of my meals at the hotel, breakfast lunch and dinner- and I had three different bartender/servers during my stay that were all so very pleasant. Some even gave me directions to buy a hoodie at a nearby store because I didn't realize it would be colder there this time of year still.
And the chef made me an awesome salad when I wanted to exchange tuna for chicken on the salad that comes with Lemon Dressing- it was absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend this substitution as the combination of greens and dressing go amazing with Tuna! It will cost you 2 dollars more as Tuna is more expensive (rightfully so) but it I ate the entire thing. I couldn't stop myself.

Pros: I had a really great first time experience at this hotel. One of the things that I liked about this hotel is that you don't feel like you're staying in a San Francisco boutique hotel (aka tiny, narrow walkways, tiny lobby's). I've been to SF a number of times and stayed in boutique hotels and after a while they get kind of eh. The JW Marriott was fantastic. It was clean, in a great location, and every one was helpful. The bathroom was very luxe, which is why I chose this hotel versus the Marroitt. I used the gym in the morning and it was clean and had your standard requirements for a gym. I would def recommend this hotel to others!

Pros: Loved the old charm of the hotel- the staff was extremely welcoming and very nice. The location was great- we could walk to most places we wanted to go or just catch the trolley. Also has a 7eleven convenient store and a walgreens across the street which was nice to grab quick snacks or water for night or morning. Good find! Would definitely come back for the price- we enjoy the city and like spending more on doing things while traveling rather than a place to sleep- so it was a win win for us!

Pros: Great location for a "staycation." We live in SF, and spent the night downtown. First dinner, then movie (at Embarcadero Cinema), then a stroll to the Ferry Building. All this within about three blocks.
When we arrived, we were given a free upgrade to a slightly larger room (maybe it was a slow Friday night, but they didn't have to have done this).
The room and bed were comfortable, although the TV was a bit on the small size (not tiny, just not huge). The room had plenty of room for the two of us, and the queen bed fit our two larger frames nicely.
The "Living Room" on the lobby level was quite comfortable, with free espresso drinks and computers available. Free wifi throughout the hotel. We didn't try the restaurant, but there is a Starbucks on the corner (two doors down) that opens quite early, so we had a nice breakfast and coffee there.
We enjoyed our stay, and thought the price was great for a downtown SF hotel room.

With a regal atmosphere and a killer location in Union Square, Kimpton Sir Francis Drake Hotel is a San Francisco classic. From the moment the red-suited Beefeater whisks you into the ornate lobby, the grand staircases, gilded ceilings, sleek marble walls and crystal chandeliers evoke an Old World charm you won’t find anywhere else. Recently renovated, this upscale landmark is also home to the acclaimed Italian eatery Scala's Bistro and newly reimagined Lizzie’s Starlight.

Pros: I did my research and this was the only affordable option for me. The bathrooms are not in the room. And I brought a waterproof zippered sheet, as well as my own sheet/blanket. Soap and towels for my room and when I showered. As well as shower shoes. It was a bit scary staying alone but I managed just fine and no one bothered me. If you are staying in summer just know the windows have no screens and there are mosquitoes. I also brought a sleepmask and earplugs. With all these I felt much more comfortable and slept well.
