The audio earbuds was awful. The sound reproduction and fit was bad
Media screen bad quality. Some were not working. Restrooms were bad Seats are refurbished not cushioned properly. For longhaul flights travellers will get back pain.
New flights
It’s an overall good flight. Check in crew should be more professional, at least greeting/acknowledging the passenger instead of being on the phone while serving passengers.
The only good part of the journey is the short travel time! If you don’t care about the in flight entertainment, quality and quantity of food as well as don’t mind getting up and fetching up your own snack/beverages from the food pantry then go for this airlines. FYI, charging only with USB, but u will be out of luck if you are stuck with a non functional one!☹️
In my row, nobody's entertainment screen worked - my audio didn't work, my husband's touchscreen didn't work, and the third seat guy's screen was blank! the remote control didn't work on anyone's - which meant we couldn't press the call sign for the steward, we couldn't turn on or off the lights overhead, and we couldn't turn the volume up or down. If entertainment is not your big criteria, maybe going to the toilet/loo is? For a full flight, there were only a handful of toilets to begin with. and then one broke - didn't flush, and the others had a waiting line over over 40 mins. God bless your bladder!! Suggest you wear an adult diper. The hot food was good, honestly, but just get rid of the cold bread! who would eat a cold piece of bread roll/dinner roll. Just don't give it! The crew though were great, I really felt for them, managing a chaotic environment with a shitty plane, God bless them. Overall, never flying this airline. But I wish Tata does something and brings their new planes, because I would love to be a proud Air India traveling Indian. No other flight just gets me from Chicago directly to India!
Plane is old. Seats are broken. Entertainment does not work. Food is ok. Flight attendants are courteous and try their best. Take this flight if you get the cheapest ticket. Otherwise, look for other carriers.

Air hostess was super rude There was no choice of soft drinks on flight The napkin with meals -were a joke No ice served with beverages Pantry floor was full of water and paper towels Shame on you for being the national carrier
Nothing works in the flight. Entertainment screen and the remote does not work at all. one can't even call the Airhostess or switch on the reading light. seats are kind of broken. very difficult for the long haul flights
Food quality and selection very poor from chicago, prabably the vendor is in comparable and needs to.be taken care off. Some toilets filthy but it appeared mostly on passenger's negligence they do not use and keep it clean. Planes are too old and in bad shape erc.
The food was horrible. The Entertainment system was always showing "ERROR: Press Home Button". When I went to the toilet, it didn't have tissue paper. Even after pressing "Call Attendent staff" 10 to 15 times (may be more!), no one turned up. Finally I had to come out of the toilet and caught hold of a air hostess. The food tray holder was slightly tilted which resulted the tray to fall to my lap!!!!
Our flight was cancelled due to technical issues. Air India staff caused each one of us to go through nightmare before finally placing us in a hotel by 2 am. I was asked to share a single room with a stranger. I insisted that I cannot share the room as I needed privacy due to my vulnerable medical situation (Heart issues, High blood pressure, High Cholesterol and Type 2 diabetics). Even after explaining my medical situation and the need for privacy, Air India instructed the hotel to charge me Rs 4000 for the room and I was forced to pay the amount at 2 am (roughly $49). Air India should refund the amount I paid for my hotel room, at the minimum. Air India didn't have any Standard Operating Procedure to do what/how/when/by whom under this situation. Mom with babies, Elderly people and people with medical condition like me were forced to wander from here to there and talk to each person right from 10pm all the way till 2am. The Air India staff didn't have PA system to give a consistent announcement, instead they were murmuring on a one-o-one basis with more than 200 passengers. It was a sight of utter mismanagement and lack of commonsense. I will not ever, I MEAN EVER TRAVEL an Air India flight even if it is free, and will not recommend Air India to anyone I care.

Except Boarding, crew and flight furation, nothing was there which i liked. It looked like the Boeing-777-300ER flight run by AI sucks big time, its broken from inside glued with tapes, hand rests were broken, flight was like it was never cleaned, experience of current AI flight sucked big time except the duration which is a direct flight is a big plus and thats why people like to travel via AI. With this experience i had, the price i paid was not worth it.!!!

Crew, the entertainment system and seats were in non functional
No organized boarding procedure and TV screens in most of the seats didnt work. For a 14 and half hour flight, without any entertainment made it much worse. Recliners in the seats were not working properly.
