Received an email the following day requesting additional documentation which by then was impossible to supply. Address listed on the invoice I received was not the physical location of the car depot.

The car I booked was old and I didn’t felt comfortable driving it, so was able to upgrade for a newer model with integrated gps. However the reverse camera wasn’t working making parking a little bit harder. Plus there were no sensors anywhere nor had it cruise control. It did have a camera to record movement and driving which was nice to have. The customer service was great and very helpful.

Overall below average experience. Waited 40 minutes for the shuttle bus from Auckland airport. Pick up was fine and didn’t take too long! The car itself was 10 years old and quite tired, lots of signs of poorly repaired damage and wear to the bodywork and interior, chip on the windscreen. The interior really needed a deep clean, lots of visible dirt in the small gaps around the dashboard, centre console, gear stick. The aircon blower would stop working 15-20 minutes into the each journey, (would work again at the start of each journey after the car has been rested). Car was comfortable otherwise, no mechanical issues. The drop off was quick and efficient.

My Toyota Aqua hybrid car had a faulty battery. It died while I was on the road and I had to call AA to get boosted. Luckily I was in an area that had mobile reception, but they recommended I don't move forward with my roadtrip as I was going remote and mechanics/shops would be closed on weekends. It made the experience stressful! And the USB port couldn't charge my phone. I thought it was a cable issue, reason why I stopped along the journey to buy a new one, only to come back to a dead car battery!

I booked with Kayak, was contacted by QEEQ, and got my car from auto union. On pickup I had to pay an age excess, of which I had not been advised. See my emails to QEEQ. Also your site would not allow me to indicate my time of arrival/departure. (12 noon only). I will not book through an intermediary again!
Super easy shuttle service with really friendly staff. Car was ready as soon as we got there! Recommend checking in to your rental before you arrive, makes it super fast! Will definitely be booking here again :)

I booked a Prius from EZU (Auckland airport branch) through Kayak. What EZU provided was a Toyota Aqua, smaller than a Prius but also a hybrid. That was fine by me as I was travelling alone. I was picked up and dropped off at the airport in reasonable time. The car already had scratches on the hubcaps but this was duly noted and posed no problem on return. The car was otherwise clean and gave me no problems. I was disappointed that the handbook was in Japanese - EZU should obtain English language versions. The staff were efficient and pleasant to deal with.
The battery in the key remote didn’t work so we had to manually lock and unlock the driver’s door and then use the button on the inside of the driver’s door to unlock the other doors. That was annoying. Otherwise it was a good little car that did everything we needed.

Overall we were happy with our experience. We found communication was lacking - we tried calling several times over multiple days to confirm details, and could not get through to anyone. The online chat was useless. We were also given wrong directions about where to meet the shuttle bus at the airport, which caused unnecessary delays.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Yes Way Car Rental Auckland. The car they gave me was a dated 2016 model, full of scratches, a cracked inner liner, and a broken brake light. The vehicle looked old and poorly maintained. I paid $670 for this car, and for just $130 more, I could have rented a brand-new RAV4 from Budget Rental. The staff were incredibly rude and unprofessional. One of them even swore at me in front of my 12-year-old child. We wasted nearly two hours dealing with the rental process because only one staff member was working while the other two were on their phones, completely ignoring the growing queue of customers. While they did eventually refund my money, the entire experience was not worth it. Starting a holiday with such frustration, an unsettled child, and an old, damaged car left a bad taste in my mouth. I would never use this company again and strongly advise others to avoid them.

The staff at pickup location AKL were very helpful, quickly checked in and we were on our way. Except that, I could not get my iPhone to connect with CarPlay! The customer service representative quickly got it sorted and it functioned well throughout the rental. Also, the Wellington city drop off were quick and efficient! In fact, they texted me within minutes that we left a pair of sunglasses in the car. I recovered them within 20 minutes and thanked the staff. I will definitely use them in the future.

Scotty at Auckland airport was great, helpful friendly etc but after that all downhill. I’ve emailed thrifty 3 times about issues with the car and still have had no reply. I called their customer service and the issue was not resolved. The car has been returned but the office was closed at 4 pm on a week day so I could only drop the keys off and still have not been able to speak to anyone. Poor customer service.

Excellent once you got there but they only have one shuttle bus that operates on a loop and if you just miss it you have a 45 minute wait. Friendly staff, quick pick up and drop process, car was about three years old but perfect for our needs.

These guys are a rip off. I purchased extra insurance. Had someone from a grocery chain damage the car. Bargain simply took the deductible + time for repair (should have been covered) and that was it. They made no attempt to contact the responsible party for the repair. The car had already some pock marks on it so I am not encouraged to believe they will actually do the repair. They will likely pocket my money as profit and go on. I should have known when they tried to sell me road side assistance that you purchased, and then paid again when you called to use it.

Much better than the Kia small SUV we rented the other portion of our trip. That car was terrible. The sprayers on the left wipers came in handy, but the gear shift was a bit tricky to use. Safety measures were very obvious, sometimes annoying, but overall helpful. The only real.negative was around navigation - the built in nav is the worst and most useless I've ever seen in a car. We mostly used Android Auto and it worked great via Bluetooth 90% of the time. But one of the days it just stopped working and wouldn't connnect, no.matter what we tried. Eventually, after a stop, it randomly started working again. Overall it handled well, got good gas mileage and provided plenty of room.

We were charged an extra credit card surchage of of 11 NZ$. I had a quote for this car and all fees, that should have applied. It is mandatory to pay with credit card, so there should not be an extra fee after all.

The navigation GPS system was excellent - indispensable for driving around Auckland. Staff was helpful in changing our original car to something smaller. Car was comfortable and easy to drive.

Car’s mechanical condition was very poor. Car was 13 years old, was not cleaned properly, seats were in poor shape.

The staff at the rental centre were efficient happy and helpful. Nishi especially so. The vehicle was not ready when we arrived, was not clean, and there was a large star chip in the windscreen which we watched carefully for the full hire. The vehicle was surging at speeds around 50kph and hard to drive in low speed township areas. On the open road was fine. We were dependent on mapping apps on our phone but the electrical auxillary plug in the car was non-functional. We hit some very heavy rain storms but the wiper blades were worn out and could not give clear visibility. We drew the staff's attention to these problems when we returned the car.

Car was horrible and unsafe. When I complained about their vehicle they already had my money so didn't care about any of the concerns. Transmission was slipping Cracked windscreen Wrong size tyres ( Speedo was out and used more fuel) Doors didn't shut. Radio didn't work One headlight worked Very dirty inside of the windscreen, hard to see. The list goes on

When I arrived at auckland airport, i tries to call the numbers given… and nobody picked up the phone.. i have to wait for 2 hours before finding the shuttle to the pick up.. The email showing the procedure of picking up the car was given to me a day before i arrived at Auckland and Iam flying international meaning when the email sent to me i was on the plane…

Apex is generally less expensive than competitors but the office is not within the airport. The shuttle was prompt and easy and the service at the office was great.

You emailed a form a few days before pick-up that said, "VERY IMPORTANT - CHECK IN NOW WITH ENTERPRISE". You asked many detailed questions, my address, driver's license, phone, and EVEN MY CREDIT CARD. I took almost 30 minutes to fill out all the information you asked. When I arrived at Enterprise two days later, they said THEY RECEIVED NONE OF THIS INFORMATION FROM YOU! And when I was shocked, they said this happens all the time with you, and that it's really frustrating. Huge waste of time and I will avoid doing business with you because of it. Enterprise was great, so the problem was you.

Supplier choice
Four days after the hire ended I still don't have a comprehendible invoice for the hire. E-mails aren't being responded to. How hard is it for them to produce paperwork that can actually be understood.

Pick up / drop off was easy and convenient. They didn’t share or contact us stating that we could get picked up from the airport until after we had talked to another rental company. All the dash lights came on (transmission, check engine, skid control, etc) within 12 hours of us renting the car. We called to make them aware of it and they said if these version lights came on not to worry. We had two young children in the car and it made us nervous to drive a distance. They were not accommodating when it came to this.

Check in experience was harsh person overcharged me for premium insurance. He told me different rate and on invoice he charged me $53 per day for insurance.

Don’t rent from Europcar! The issue is they charge for minor wear and tear…in our case a minor 10cm scratch on the alloy hubcap. Cost $350. I suggest go with a different company.

Car itself was great. Understaffed pick up desk. Waited 45 minutes to get the car once at the car park. When returning, there was no staff and no signage/directions for how to return (at 8:30 am) and had to walk to the arrivals area of the airport to inform staff there of the returned car.

The “shuttle” for this car rental is actually the Jet Park Hotel shuttle bus which arrives every 30 mins. The check-in for the car rental desk is the same as the hotel check-in queue so be prepared for a long wait. There was no paperwork or terms of service / agreement so be sure to document the state of the car when you get the keys. The car I had is an old car with many dents and dings; I took a complete video of the car and pictures. The car had a funny smell, but it’s an old car so I guess that’s acceptable. As it is an old car the suspension isn’t great nor comfortable. There are no car sensors so be careful when parking or reserving. Car drop off was easy. Overall, it’s a good rental for the amount paid but be sure to leave time to collect the car and for the drop off before your flight.

Airline rebooked me when I checked in on an earlier flight, so I arrived two hours earlier than my original flight. DriveNZ was able to provide me with a car earlier and I was also provided with a car that was a grade above what I booked, with no additional charges. All went smoothly from pickup to dropoff for this rental. Would recommend and would use again.

Very little paperwork at pick up and drop off. No pressure to get additional insurance, etc. The call centre staff couldn't advise me if I could pick up direct from DriveNZ office. They insisted I take their courtesy shuttle from airport, which was not necessarily correct. The parking lot could have better signals about rows. However, the staff were very helpful to locate the car for me.
