We had to wait 20 minutes for collection but we were a little early and they didn’t open until 7am. Overall collection was straight forward, nice new cars with very little damage. Handing the car back was a simple and straight forward process. Will use again in future.

Pick-up is in a hotel. Shuttle bus takes you two floors down. Then you have to take an elevator up (with all luggage). Long wait (45 minutes). Elevator down to collect the car. Everything together roughly 90 minutes.

Major waiting time for pick up. The car was handed over without inspection because of which I had issues driving as the wipers were faulty even though the car only had 2700 miles on it. There is no way to approach them if you book thru kayak or qeeq and they do not entertain any third party insurance that you may purchase thru there platforms and insist that you spend 3 times on hertz own insurance Also, hertz does not remove the exorbitant block they put on your card immediately. My block amount was more than the rental amount and I am still to receive the credit despite the bill being settled and 4 days being passed It's better to book directly from a car company after reading all terms and conditions rather than booking thru platforms which offer no information support or assistance in your trip

Staff was very friendly and interested to help. We reserved a Volvo XC90 and we were given an XC60. We pointed it out to the service desk. They acknowledged the error, but said that they couldn’t help because we prepaid and that we would need to contact customer service. Customer Service said that they needed approval from the location. I am assuming that I will not receive an adjustment. That causes me not to book through Kayak. Additionally, they charged me £212 for minor scratches on a wheel.

Wouldn’t use it again. We hired a van and from our initial inspection the van 1. Wasn’t ready in time 2. had a lot more scratches than on their report which we recorded 3. Had a broken piece of wood in the back which was not noted down. Poor.

Terrible. Avoid at every cost. They claim you’ve damaged the car when you haven’t and take loads of money from your deposit. Read the guardian article about them. There is a class action against them. They should not be included on comparison websites as it reflects really badly on that website.

Pros:

Nothing! Stay away and help put disreputable businesses out of business!

Cons:

Bait and switch. Got a price that looked great, but when I got there not only did they have an inferior car to the one I booked, that they tried to pass off, but the price they charged was over 40% higher than when I booked online. (Looking at the other reviews, I'm not the only one in this position) I walked out after confirming that they wouldn't charge me anything, and they charged me over 90 dollars (in dispute with credit card). I then went to a big name brand like I should have in the first place.

Liked the car but didn’t realize it came with only 100 miles/day. So I had to upgrade which doubled the price. Took over an hour to find the bus and get to their off airport site. Two hour waiting in a queue with just one person checking everyone in. Felt so bad for couple in front of me who were going to miss their cruise do to horrible delay. On return the bus only came once an hour to return to Terminal 5! Never renting from them again!

On pick up we found scrapes on the car that weren’t marked on the paperwork so got them to correct it. Agreement was for 100 miles per day this was changed to just 71 miles. Very disappointed. Checking the car back in was very quick and trouble free.

The shuttle van from the airport was fast and convenient. The representatives at the desk were friendly and efficient. There was no line like I have seen at other airports. The return process was fine (except the first representative failed to print us a receipt and we got no email either so had to go back). The car itself, however, left a lot to be desired. It was much smaller than the “typical” model they advertised and though it said “or similar” we didn’t feel it WAS similar. The interior had clearly not been cleaned and was missing a floor mat entirely on the drivers side. It had not been washed, at least not recently. As such, the wipers were so dirty that on the drive home, in a downpour, they honestly were a hazard — we could see next to nothing of the road due to the smears. When we tried to call the desk to let them know of these issues, no one answered… for three days. And when we emailed and requested a response, we got none then either. So communication was a huge problem too. In the end, we cleaned it ourselves and luckily the wipers didn’t need replacing, just a good scrub. But we were extremely frustrated.

Called ro request invoice not received, Bank statement transaction is for twice price quoted at pick up which is 4 times price quoted on Kayak

The hidden fees and what I was charged vice what I paid was outrageous. I was quoted less than half of what I ended up paying. I was deeply disappointed in this type of activity. I would much rather have upfront and honest prices and not feel like I was ripped of and taken advantage of.

We arrived in terminal 2 and there are only shuttles from terminal 3. With a toddler and all the bags and car seats that entails it was a long walk .

As usual with Europcar the sales assistant did not stop for 20mins trying to force me into taking extra insurance. Although I had already paid for the car for the full period confirming conditions I was told that I could not take the car unless I paid a small fortune in extra insurance. This went in for over 20 mins till I called the manager who just let me go as he was legally bound to do. This behavior is a form of extortion and is illegal

Loved the experience with pick up and drop off. It was quick and stress free. The car was good but the rear right tire light came up after I left the site and I didn’t want to go back so I filled it. It must have had a slow leak as it came up numerous times again and I had to keep filling it for a pound each time. But no issues otherwise 💕

They didn’t have the car I had ordered and the ‘equivalents’ were not at the same level. They are all salespeople. You get off the plane exhausted and despite already having paid for a car they work irritatingly hard to get you to upgrade both the car and the insurance. A tiring, frustrating experience.

I will never use Avis again - ever. In Jan 2019 I booked a car for pick up at LHR Dec 16, making the mistake that my flight out of SFO was actually getting into LHR Dec 17. Had I picked up the car Dec 16, I would have been paying $460 for my rental period. With zero flexibility they wanted me to now pay £2000 for the same rental package (1 day less in fact). After a long haul flight with 4 biggish bags - which the Avis shuttle driver gave no help with - I had to go back to T2 and get a car from National for £600. Same size as my original Avis booking, help with baggage into and off of bus and even into my car! Enterprise rocks. Avis sucks big time.

From start to finish zaine was Professional helpful and a great lad. I Wasn't expecting it to be as cheap as it was without hidden costs, but even the platinum insurance was resonable in comparrison to most Rental places I have visited (which is alot lately). 100% reccomend these guys!!

Staff is very rude and attempt to commit fraud. I bought the platinum protection package which protects you from liability in case of scratches or even totaling the car and they’re still try to withhold my deposit of $254. Worst people I’ve ever dealt with.

Negative: On arrival at Heathrow T4, despite what was on my booking from the broker (and what I have since confirmed is posted on the Surprice website), Surprice Heathrow pick-up only covered T2/T3/T5. This meant having to get a train with multiple bags which was very challenging for one person. My AMEX credit card was also not accepted (despite having already been used through the broker booking for part payment of the fee) Additionally, I was informed at the counter that I would need to pay extra to be dropped off at the airport on my departure Lastly, the car was dirty and had clearly not been cleaned. The agent offered to clean the car but I was now running late due to the unexpected trip from T4, etc so had to waive this offer Positive: On returning the car a few days later, I provided my poor experience to a gentleman called Sadan, who was handling the car check-in. He was very attentive and extremely customer focused. He apologised for the issues I had encountered and provided a complimentary drop off to the airport.

There was NOTHING that we liked about this experience. We will NEVER use them or recommend them again. Upon arrival, it took over an hour to find them for transportation to their facility. We had our booking at 9:00 am, at 11:00 am, we were still waiting for someone to talk to us. There were customers waiting who had their bookings at 7:30, and they hadn't been served yet. As we had time sensitive tickets for entry to Stonehenge, we ended up calling a taxi company to pick us up to drive us. The car rental company was supposed to reimburse us, they still have not credited us with our pre-paid rate. This was a HORRIBLE experience, we do NOT recommend them to anyone. For context, we have travelled extensively around the world and have rented cars everywhere we have travelled, this was by far the WORST EXPERIENCE we have ever encountered.

The rental counter experience was fine. The Citroen C3 will go on my list (with the Renault Clio) of cars to avoid. The rubbery, notchy transmission took all the fun out of driving.

Very confusing process. Ended up paying triple of what I thought I was going to. I would suggest a more reputable brand. Might cost more on paper but not worth the headache of this rental experience.

I couldn't get a hold of the company before traveling to make amendments to the booking. I called Kayak and tried to call Ace and the name of the company was something else entirely. Kayak said to visit their kiosk when I got to Heathrow, there was no kiosk at Heathrow. No phone number would connect me to a human and in the end I showed up to pick up the time I wanted to change it to and they were very accommodating. Shame about the runabout in the lead up.

Over an hour wait for shuttle from the airport and 5 calls. Had to switch 3 cars on pickup first received the wrong car transmission and then a car with engine noise.

There were no instructions for pickup, just an address that goes to the wrong location. There should be shuttle pickup mentioned, because there was one, but we didn't know about it and ended up walking 3 miles with luggage to get to the correct location.

When I picked the car up I was told that no insurance was included, and that basic collision insurance with a GBP 800 excess would be more than 2x what I paid for the car. I have been renting cars for 40 years, and never before have I been sold a car without any insurance. In the past there has always been insurance with a modest excess (eg GBP 1,500) which the client is invited to reduce by making an additional payment. I will be careful never to book through you again.

My flight arrived at terminal 4, when I called the car rental team I was informed that they didn't pick up from terminal 4 and I would have to make my own way to terminal 2 or 3. Once at terminal 2 or 3 I would need to call them again. When I arrived at terminal 3 I called them and was told someone would pick me up in 10-15 minutes. After 30 minutes I called again and was told that someone would set off now to pick me up, so they hadn't even left their business to pick me up, if I hadn't called again how long would I have been waiting for? Upon arrival to the car rental place, I was informed that I had selected the cheapest option which didn't come with insurance which I needed. They gave me three price options, all which resulted in at least double the price of my original booking. At the time of booking I was not given the option of purchasing insurance, so a very deceitful way of hiding those additional fees making the renter think they have got a good deal. The fuel tank was only half full, resulting in me having to fill up before heading on my 5 1/2 hour drive, where the half tank wouldn't have gotten me to my destination. The gas station was only at the end of their road. Upon returning the car, I once again had to make my own way to the airport - terminal 4. They didn't even offer to take me to terminal 2 or 3. I will not use their service again, nor will I book a car through Kayak again.

I got dropped off at terminal on departure. DO NOT USE PAY EXTRA AND USE A MAINSTREAM RENTAL COMPANY. THE PRICE IS MISLEADING THEY CHARGE YOU FOR INSURANCE WHEB COLLECTING THE CAR RATHER THAN TELLING YOU ABOUT THIS BEFORE YOU MAKE THE BOOKING. RUDE AND UMPROFESSIONAL STAFF. CAR SMELT IF SMOKE, WAS UNLEAN AND WING MIRROR WAS TAPED ON DO NOT USE.

The guys at the office were very polite and helpful. The one downside is that it took forever to get the car as well as drop it off. It is not a standard rental car counter so be ready for that.

Hidden fees of over £145 on a £40 car rental (350%)!! The car was not cleaned, with multiple stains inside the vehicle, and even had chocolate smeared all over the passenger seat. Had to spend the first 15 minutes cleaning in their parking lot to just make it usable…
